my son about 5 years now is getting valparin 200 syrup since last 1 year. dr. say there was some problem on his eeg report as he have 3 episode of fitz one at 1 & 1/2 year, then on 2 and half then after 3 year. can i stop the medicine now or this medicne have any side effects or is it influence his study ## Valprain contains Valproic Acid, it is used to help prevent seizures. My daughter is 3 and half years old. She is taking valparine 200 syrup for last one year when she suffering fits. Is there any side effect of this medicine? my daughter is 10year old &shunt operated child due to menningitis .she had convulsion that time firstly she was giving the gardenal two years later she was giving valparin.when medicine tapered by doc. she had convulsion again&course is started again.she is taking 10ml bd.she was operated at the age of 2&half months. now she is getting urine problem all the time bedwetting also what should i do. ## my son has 3 yrs old .i continue valparin 200 syrup for 1 yr but i stoped that dose ....will i start that dose?

My cousin who is 5 yrs old has a problem in communication though there is no defect in the ears.Instead of replying to the question posted by others the child utters the same question to them. Recently he has been diagonsed and reported that he has epilepsy in brain. Now he is advised to take Valparin 200 syrup every night of about 2.5 ml. This medicine is given for controlling the epilepsy in the brain and as a result of this the hyperactivity comes down. Doctor has advised to take liver test every 6 months as this medicine has got side effects. Are there any serious problems for this medicine? my son was diagnosed with seizure disorder and is in medication. He is taking Valparin 200ml almost 10 ml per day since 4 years. Shall I stop it by now or need to continue for some more month. I am worried about the relapse case which I have also found happened to other. Please suggest.

My son had a seizure in 2012 (when he was 2 years of age) and our doctor at the time advised that he take Valparin Syrup 3mL twice daily for 3 years. One year has already passed & he has two years of treatment time remaining to continue taking this syrup. However, now we have to immigrate to Canada and I would like to find out whether we can bring 2 years worth of this medication (approx. 50 bottles) there? Or even at least 1 year quota. Will we get questioned in custom clearance or anywhere else? I would take the prescription from the pediatrician but I'm really nervous about how to handle this situation when traveling internationally. Kindly advise me on this.

Sir, This is for general information, my son has once caught with epilepsy at the age of 3, now he is 11 years old and from that incident onwards our doctors prescribed him valparine 200 syrup till 2014 January after that given him epilex chorno 200 as well as 300 for the day (300 for morning time and 200's 2 tablet in the evening, now he is weighing 27.5 kg. I want to know what is exact effects of using all these medicines, as a growing child. Please let me know as early as possible.
