I want to know how long does it take to get chlorthalidine out of my system after I stop taking it? ## Hello, Esther! How are you? Why did you stop taking it? I JUST STARTED THE DRUG CHLORTHALID 25 MG. TODAY. I HAVE NOT NOTICED ANY INCREASE IN MY URINE OUTPUT. IS IT BECAUSE OF THE LOW DOSAGE? WOULD AN INCREASE IN THE DOSAGE HELP? ## No, you shouldn't arbitrarily increase the dosage of any medication on your own, it isn't safe to do so. And though this is a diuretic and will have a small immediate effect, like any medication, it will take awhile to reach its full effect in your body, so one day isn't really enough to judge its efficacy on. Learn more Chlorthalidone details here. If it's working for you, you'll know in a few days and, if not, then please let the prescribing doctor know. I want to know the side effects of chlorthalid. will it effect my gums, and make my teeth loose ## Chlorthalidone is a diuretic that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and edema. It really isn't known to cause those effects, however, since it does remove fluid from the body, you will be dryer and this can include your mouth. If you produce less saliva, it can allow bacteria to stay in the mouth longer than usual, which could cause dental damage. That is something that you should be careful of, when taking it. You will need to make sure that you take in enough fluids in a day to prevent dehydration and such problems. Other side effects may include: nausea, dizziness and hyperkalemia. Has anyone experienced side effects from taking Chlorthalidone? ## Can Chlorthalidone 25 mg and Lotensin 20mg combined cause mild angina in a 64 year old females? I recently developed angina after taking these combined medications. The angina happens at rest. ## The FDA has approved Chlorthalidone to treat congestive heart failure, and high blood pressure. They list its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, hypotension, headache, and dehydration. Greengoat, it is more likely that you were going to develop it, anyway. These medications are most commonly used to treat it, not cause it, according to NIH studies. How long have you been taking them?

I also have a loss of appetite. ## This tablet contains the active ingredients Atenolol and Chlorthalidone, it is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and other cardiac diseases. Have you been carefully monitoring your fluid intake? The Chlorthalidone is a diuretic, which helps remove water from the body, to lower sodium build-up, which can contribute to high blood pressure, because one feeds off the other. High sodium leads to fluid build-up, fluid build-up increases the build-up of sodium, so it is kind of a vicious cycle. If you aren't taking in enough fluids, then you might be dehydrated and the symptoms you mentioned can occur if you are. Ano...

I cannot find a coupon for Chlorthalid 23mg tab. This is the name as spelled on my prescription bottle. I'm paying Walmart $49.95 for 90 tablets, is there a coupon for this medication. I need an answer so will leave email address ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? No, I'm sorry, but since this a generic medication, there are no coupons or assistance programs available.
