I was told by my pharmacist today that brand name (Novartis)-ritalin 20 mg tablets sr (sustained-release), have been discontinued. I cannot find anything on the internet to confirm this. He filled one-third of the prescription and said to contact the doctor to decide what to do. He said ritalin capsules, 20 mg la (long-acting) is still available from novartis. Has anyone out there had any similar difficulties? This may cause problems with my insurance plan...or delays. And I don't have transportation to go from pharmacy to pharmacy looking for ritalin tabs 20 mg sr. Would appreciate any feedback. I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. I have information about Ritalin but has anyone had experience giving it to their child. My son is 7 and has just started taking Ritalin He complained about feeling different in his head and hearing sounds like screaming. I'm petrified, is this normal? ## I am an adult, and never took Ritalin as a youth so I can only speculate from my adult experience. Basically, Ritalin is a stimulant (not a methamphetamine), but it does increase Central Nervous System activity which can cause hallucinations at times. i an trying to find out who makes the pink ritalin thats has 532 on one side, i have used this for years and all of a studden, they only have the green and yellow and white all giving me headaches and can't find any informaition out on the pink ones name or anything for my dr, help ## I have the same issue without the headaches.
