I just found out from my Dr that tramadol is schedule 2 only in Louisiana? I was cut back to 2 a day! Is this really true? ## Hello, Sam! How are you? Yes, that is true, it was changed to a schedule 2, but not just in Louisiana, it's changed overall for the entire U.S. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Schedule 2? No.. Schedule 4 (IV). Where do people come up with this crap information? ## Tramadol is a Schedule IV in Louisiana. Hearing lots of places that the people who order tramadol via internet will no longer be able to. I live in a town with uptight doctors who charge outrageous prices plus insist on doing constant testing before writing a prescription. If true what are my option after Aug 18 ## i wish i had an answer for you, i have been using it for 3 years, more as a anti-depressant. I take 200 mg a day and feel good, certainly not intoxicated. This decision by FDA is ridiculous. Tramadol is not in the same class as Percs and Roxys etc. Unbelievable. I can go to Dr but i will be spending mad $ on their BS. Prices in the international market will now be inflated as well. The market is risky unless you know credible sources. ## Tramadol will become a Controlled Substancde Schedule IV in Aug. But, Schedule...

Iv had three wisdom reeth extracted two days ago and the pain is getting worse.. Iv been prescribed tablets that don't dont seem to help very much at all.... Is it ok to take two melfen at once as I was told that was te strongest of what I was given. I was also given solpadol tablets too... Can they be mixed? ## Hello, Sazcoyne! How are you? No, the Melfen just contains Ibuprofen, which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. However, the Solpadol contains Paracetamol and Codeine, the Codeine is actually a narcotic analgesic, which would likely help a bit more. And no, please don't double up on anything with your dentist's approval. Are there any other questions or concerns?

The pill I mention about, what does it do to a human body. ## Ive taken for couple years. Just likeTramadol ## They are a time released formulation of Tramadol. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. All medications carry some risks, most prominently with this one would be liver and stomach damage, so you should see your doctor regularly, while being treated with it, so they can monitor you. Is there anything else I can help with?

Ive been battling the monster methadone for about 3 years now and I'm sick of it. I tapered down to 20mg a day and ran out. After trying elimodrol and withdrawal ease supplements and feeling OK for the first 2 days, I thought cool I will be OK. Hell no, day three my body told me that stuff ain't doing anything. I had a bottle of tramadol so I took about 250 mg and after 30 min I noticed I was sitting still and not wanting to jump out of my skin. WOW. So now I've been doing the same for 4 days and still alright. Is it too good to be true? Am I just trading one for the other or can it really help? I am sole provider of my wife and two young kids, so missing alot of work to go detox is out of the question. And cold turkey I can't handle right now. Anyone been here before?, ...

I took 4 & 1/2 Hydrocodone 10/325s about 12 hours ago. Can I take 5 tramadol now ## Hello, Fly! How are you? You are taking far too many of these tablets, at once. Especially the Hydrocodone with the Acetaminophen, no single dosing of that should exceed 1,000mgs. How many have you been instructed to take, per dose, by your doctor? Both of these medications carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Keep in mind that it is very rare for someone to overdose on Tramadol alone, but Tramadol in combination with other drugs can be very dangerous and lead to death. ## Yes, what Dan said is correct, but that's in respect to any mediation, not just Tramadol. Most overdoses, especially fatal ones,...

Ive been taking tramadol for aprox 8yrs nonstop other than a 7week break. Ive back problems and my knees are broken down do to years of rough wear and tear on top of many injuries. Ive no health insurance either. Truth b told,i cannot function very well at all without taking the tramadol. So i am checking to see of anyone has any insight or suggestions as to where i may b able to purchase tramadol after the 18th of august which is when tramadol becomes a controlled substance. Im aware that ordering overseas is risky but going without the meds is not an option. I am very worried about the change in classification. I never expected anything like this to happen, had i known and not been ignorant to the possibility of not being able to order tramadol online i would have done something diffe...

What is the normal dose for tramadol hcl 50mg? I am taking utter prn tid for severe back pain. I have taken 75mg before I got relief. ## Tramadol became a Schedule IV August 18, 2014. Under Federal Law, a dr can write refills and can call it in. There are no restrictions on how often you must see your dr. But, your dr can have you come in as often as he wants and he doesn't have to give refills or call it in. ## The interesting thing about Tramadol is the fiasco of its creation. LOL Originally, the intent was to try to create a medication that would have the pain relieving properties of opiates, without having the addictive tendencies, and all the side effects, however, what they ended up with is a mild pain reliever that can still be habit forming, and is only a moderate level anal...

Does anyone know if this medication (Tramadol/Ultram) is a controlled substance? ## i live in the uk and have been on tramadol for about 6-7 years now and it is over here ## no, it is not a controled sub. it is non narcotic, genric for ultram. it intercepts neurotransmitter in your brain (serotonin) to control pain ## if tramadol is not a controlled substance why do they ask for ID at the pharmacy? ## I dont care what they say. Tramadol is an addictive narcotic. It's not as hard to kick as the others but a narcotic just the same. ## Iv been told Tramadol is a watered down version of stronger narcotics. With the reclassification of tramadol to schedule IV, I can no longer get it like I was. It is the ONLY medication that allows me to function at all. Relieves my fibro pain, control appetite, improves concentration... It gave my life back. It saved me, honestly. I'm in the Charleston area. Please help! ## carolinamomma75: Honestly: your doctor? I don't see why any doctor should have a problem providing a script - especially if you have Fibromyalgia. ## My doctor referred me to pain management & they won't accept my insurance. I get 15 here or 10 there, but no one will keep me on my former regimen. I even have my medical record that shows I was taking 2 3x a day. It's frustrating. ## My gosh, well that is just really crappy. Wish I could help. -D ## carolinamomma75 , ...

when was tramadol changed to controlled substance and why was it changed ## Hi Frankie, Based on my research, Tramadol's status as a controlled substance went into effect as of yesterday, Aug 18th 2014. According to the DEA, Tramadol's abuse potential is said to be comparable to other schedule IV controlled substances, such as Propoxyphene. They also go on to state that Tramadol could potentially lead to physical or psychological dependence relative to other drugs/substances in schedule III. I'm assuming that such details are the primary reason why they felt the need to make it a controlled substance to begin with. However, a more thorough explanation can probably be found within the link below: deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2014/fr0702.htm I hope this helps! ## Give...

Tramadol is becoming a controlled substance by Aug. 14 2014 - no more US pharmacy sites will carry it. Better find overseas pharmacy ## I would really be surprised if this is true.I would never order anything from overseas.if it were controlled doesn't mean US pharmacies wouldn't carry it. ## When all states make is a schedule 4 (C-IV), you'll still be able to get it with a prescription. ## why would anyone take this 'non-pain reliever' really worthless ## You're absolutely right, it's about as worthless as taken an Aleve. ## Tramadol will become a Schedule IV in all states, effective August 18, 2014. A dr can write a prescription for it or call it in. ## BL is correct. Ultram aka tramadol will become a scheduled drug in August of this year. It will be a C-IV...

I have been taking tramadol a long time. For it to work, now I take 7 at a time (my doctor doesn't know this of course) and I thing I've been having mild seizures from it. I also have Hep C and my liver enzymes were 500 (got lab test) and my Primary doctor actually called me at home last night to tell me to see my specialist and not to take Aspirin, Tylenal, Advil. Does Tramadol contain acetaminisin or aspirin? ## No, Tramadol is exactly that, it doesn't contain any other active ingredients. Learn more Tramadol details here. But overdosing yourself is going to have a detrimental effect on your liver. You need to inform your doctor of how much you've been taking, because it's likely that more checks will need to be done for liver function. And if you've been havin...

Jan 1st, I had a severe drug reaction in Las Vegas, had to go to the ER. The ER doc gave me Ativan IV. Then he sent me home on Ativan 1 mg, I was wondering when the pain would stop, also taking Cymbalta, Celexa, Darvocet, Tramadol, I started taking a half of Ativan 1mg a day, Ativan 1 mg before bedtime with my Cymbalta and I have been sleeping like a baby. It has controlled all my back pain and nerve pain down both legs and in both knee's. I am feeling good enought to take on the world. Try the Ativan with Cymbalta. It is a God's Blessing Thank you, Cinderella ## Taking the Cymbalt at bedtime with the Ativan does not keep y ou awake? They prescribed Trazadon for my sleep and told me to take Cymbalta in the a.m. boy, I am messed up but good. thanks

I had a massive headache/migraine and was admitted to the ER Friday afternoon, dosed with morphine around 5 pm and again around 7pm prior to discharge to home. The great thing is that this awful headache resolved within about 6 hours of the last dose; it was the worst I ever had, after two weeks of stiff neck and dull headaches. I will be following up with a neurologist due to my prior history of cervical fusion surgery and rotator cuff tear in left shoulder, and now, evidence of nerve damage or rotator involvement in the right shoulder. I rarely take pain meds because I don't like the way they make me feel; I have managed pain before with tramadol 50 mg. I would like to know if I need to discuss this in a pre-employment drug panel before hand or stop donating plasma? I never donate...
