I have this Tinea Versicolor for 4 years but there is no improvment till date. ## Hi Sai, Based on my research, Candid (Clotrimazole) is reported to be an anti-fungal medication/cream, commonly prescribed for the treatment of fungal infections; which is exactly what "tinea versicolor" is (just on a more chronic level, if you will). The US National Library of Medicine also states that this condition is generally "treated" (NOT cured) by applying anti-fungal medicine (such as Clotrimazole) to the skin or by taking it orally. Ref: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0002436/#adam_001465.disease.treatment So it sounds to me like it'd be worth trying if nothing else has worked over the last 4 years. I also wanted to add that because this condition is caused by a type of yeas...

I have Tinea versicolor and have had it for about 11 years now. I didn't actually go to the doctors about it until a few months ago. I have since been prescribed a shampoo which I used for 3 days and didn't see a difference and for the last 9 weeks have been taking fluconazole as I have suffered from bouts of thrush for equally as long. I've been told the fluconazole will definitely clear the TV but so far, nothing on both fronts. I'm brown in complexion and have light patches from my belly button up to my neck, and all over my back. Now that I know it can be cleared, I feel I've really got my hopes up but have not seen a single bit of progress. Is there literally ANYTHING that's proven to get rid of this for life!?

Tinea pedis (ringworm of the feet, athlete’s foot) is the most common dermatophyte infection in the developed world. Three main factors constitute the basis of any tinea pedis infection; warmth, moisture and friction. Tinea pedis does not affect barefoot people. Shoes, in particular plastic and occluded, create a milieu for dermatophytes to prosper. Tinea pedis is most often caused by anthropophilic subspecies of Trichophyton; T. rubrum and T. mentagrophytes (interdigital). These agents can be transmitted directly from person to person as well as by the scales harbouring the fungus shed on a carpeted floor or in shared shoes.Tinea pedis may present in several clinical forms

Can you please advise me on using terrasil max to treat tinea versacolor on my neck and shoulders? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Treatment for Tinea Versicolor requires an antifungal medication, usually one that contains Selenium Sulfide. That said, Terrasil Max does not contain that, it is nothing more than over the counter skin product that has not been proven to treat anything. Did your physician prescribe anything for you? ## Without insurance, and therefore without a physician, I rely on my own research as much as possible. I have read about selenium sulfide for this issue but Terrasil seems to have better reports in treating the skin discoloration, or as with my case, dispigmentation. Thank you for your help and any further advice!
