I am 44 yrs old. I had been gone under surgery for thyroid in 1997. Till 2011 I haven't checked for tsh levels. When I checked in 2011 it was 64 ui/ml tsh and t4 t3 were normal. Doctor prescribed me for levothyroxine 25mg and gradually up to 100 mg. When I was taking 100mg my tsh level was 10 ui/ml which was near to normal. But I was experiencing many things like headaches, dizziness and heart beating. Then doctor advised me to take 50mg per day but now the tsh is 32 ui/ml. I do not understand what should I do. I have always a feeling of being depressed, loss of concentration, anxiety etc. ## Those are common side effects of this medication, but it is far more risky to your health your health to leave your thyroid issue remain uncontrolled, especially since it can cause weight probl...

Hi. I am Hafeez and my age is 48. I am a heart patient and my serum creatinine level is 1.6. I am also suffering from a thyroid disorder. I went to many of the specialists and they have given me medicine. However, all those medications are not accepted by my body. Whenever I am eating, I experience feet, chest and stomach pain. Why is this happening? Please help me. ## What medications have been prescribed for you? The NIH warns that most medications may cause nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, diarrhea, and joint/muscle aches. However, without knowing the specific ones you are taking, it is difficult to give you a precise answer. Can you please post back and clarify?

I have a simple question. Should the Thyroid tests namely, TSH,T3 and T4 done on an empty stomach? Our GP says that the test should be done at least 12 hours after the last food intake. Whereas the technicians at the diagnostic lab said no such restriction is there and the test could be anytime. Who is correct?

I take Levothyroxine( Thyroid) medicine and on the bottle it says not to take a antacids or calcium within 4 hours of taking . I also take Pantoprazole SOD. This I should not take for 4 hours after the Levothyroxine? ## HI, Barbara! How are you? Other than the water you take it with, nothing else should be taken with the Levothyroxine and though it works differently than an antacid, I'd suggest waiting the 4 hours for the Pantoprazole as well, just to be sure. It really helps more if it is taken before a meal, anyway. Learn more Pantoprazole details here.
