i would like to know about the usage of the above mentioned drug and side effects if any? ## doctor has recommendewd this tablet for my mother who is 73 years old for daily usage. She is having BP since 15 years. ## Details about this medication have been difficult to come across. This product appears to be manufactured by Dr. Reddy's in India, containing the active ingredients TELMISARTAN + HCT. The HCT might actually refer to HCTZ, but that is just what the manufacturer listed it as. This medication is used for treating high blood pressure. It should reduce your blood pressure within a couple of weeks. Because it does not cure high blood pressure (merely keeps it under control) you may need to take it regularly, even if you feel well. skipping telsartan dosage

i am in us for a short stay. I take telsartan 80mg twice a day for hypertension and i am 55 years old.By mistake i misplaced my medicines and in short of this tablet for a week before i go to india. kindly suggest me some equivalent one available in us or shall i reduce the dosage to cover up one week. ## The active ingredient is Telmisartan and it is available here, but requires a doctor's prescription. But what you'd want to look for is a medication that contains this same active ingredient. And no, it is not safe to miss tablets or reduce your dosage on your own, because it may cause dangerous rebound effects, which could result in severely elevated blood pressure or heart rate. Have you tried consulting a doctor here in the U.S.?...

3 years of telsartan and nitrilix sr

For how long can I continue taking the following blood pressure medications? (1) Telsartan 80AM (2) NitrilixSR. I've been taking them for over 3 yrs. Can I continue? ## You should take them as long as your doctor instructs you to do so. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. I have been taking similar medications for almost 7 years, now, without a problem. It is actually far more dangerous to let your blood pressure get out of control, since that could cause fatal health problems, than it is to take the medication. Is there anything else I can help with?...
