Hi, I am a 62 year old male and have been diagnosed with essential hypertension (180/70). My physician has advised telma h in the morning and met xl 25 mg in the afternoon. For how long should I take the medicine? Will it be forever or the condition can improve over time and I can discontinue using these medicines? ## There is no cure for hypertension, it is a condition that can only be controlled, according NIH reports, so you should take the medications for as long as your doctor instructs you to do so. What are the salts in telma 40 am taking twice a day on kidneys or any other orgsns ## I am 49 yrs old, male, and have been taking Telma AM40 for the last two years. Now i wanted to know whether i should change my medicine? Are there any side effects that affect organs?

With regard as I am using telma am 40 per day one but my blood pressure is 125/95 I done all examination of my blood all was in normal range my question is why 95 rang not getting down. Thanks ## Have they checked your heart, or just done blood tests? It is possible that your heart is working too hard, for some reason, such as a partial blockage, according to the NIH. Do you also eat a healthy, low salt and low fat diet? The NIH lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension.

My B/P is 150/85.....Highest ever After morning walk it is 120/70. Total Cholosterol 226-245 LDL...136 HDL... 51 VLDL..38.6 Triglycerides...193 ECHO.....EF 54% LV..... mild concentric LVH. T3,T$,TSH .....Normal. Kidney Function Test ...Normal except a little high of Uric Acid(7.1) I have slight to medium swelling on left ankle.Slight swelling on right ankle.When i reduce water intake &start lower salt intake,swelling goes but urine outflow is smelling foul&foul smell in body-sweat. I am advised Telma H 40 Tablet .......OD Storvas..10mg.........OD Question? Whether prescription is OK.What side effects? my mom had high BP 2yrs ago(jun 2007) she got low sodium and sodium was given in icu as her moments were very slow and she started talking irrelevant she also has hypothyroid hence taking electroxin too, she was given nebi 5mg to treat bp and was advised to take oral sodium extra but her headache continued. this june (2009) she again had low sodium perhaps to monitor BP we started giving her tata lite salt which caused low sodium which was again given in icu. but now since 1 august she having loose motion again hospitalized for 15 days wasgiven telma 40 mg, eltroxin, oflaxin , econorm, redotril, ornio, ORS etc.. but even today(7-sep 2009) her loose motion continues. today dr has suggested to give pantop HP kit and DOM-DT. wil this solve the problem. and how many days pantop HP kit given
