Hi! I've been taking minastrin 24 fe for about 9 months now. I've never missed a day, but somehow today I slept through my alarm and took it 6 hours late. Will it be ineffective now? ## Hello, Autumn! How are you? No, you've generally got a window of about 12 hours, before it's even considered a late pill and about 24hours, before it's actually considered a missed tablet. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been super busy lately and my boyfriend and I on Monday Jan 11,2016 had unprotected intercourse. I missed the time i was supposed to take my pills two days in a row. I just started a new pack for my 5-6 month. I took the first pill i missed three hours after my scheduled time and the second pill six hours from my scheduled time.... Do i take a plan b pill or do i let my birth control do it's job? And if i do have to take plan b will that effect my birth control?. ## Hello, Yella! How are you? You've generally got a window of about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and about 24 hours, before it would even be considered missing a pill, so unless your doctor feels otherwise, there's likely nothing to be concerned about. The FDA lists the typical side effec...

Jus start taking the pill yesterday as told to start wen my period starts....I would like to know if I should have taken it when I saw the spotting or before I actually saw the period....an while am on this pill an if am to tame wen my periods should my flow still b coming an this heavy ## Hello, Gena! How are you? For it to be effective immediately, it should have been started the first or second day that you say any bleeding. If you started it the third day or later, then you'll need to take it for a full 7 days, before it will become effective at preventing pregnancy. That means a backup form of contraception must be used for the first 7 days, you will be protected on the 8th day. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I recently had a baby boy and started taking femiane afte...

I am 2 weeks late for my period so I went to the doctor. They checked me out and did a pregnancy test which was negative. I did 4 at home which were all negative as well. My doctor then prescribed me birth control (Sprintec) to help me regulate my period... So I can start it... My question is, since I haven't gotten my period and it's not Sunday, do I start the blue pills first still or take the white to help get my period? Idk... Please help. ## The pills that you take the week you are supposed to get your menstrual cycle do not contain any active ingredients and will not help you get your period. They are placebo pills and usually cause bleeding due to breakthrough bleeding, since it is a week off of the hormones in the other pills. That said, you do not have to start these on...

Hi, I threw away my last leaflet of my Femaine and I now have taken it 4 hours late yesterday. I can't remember if prior to 12 hours if all is okay or not. Can anyone help? ## Yes, this is just a regular combined hormonal contraceptive, so taking it within 12 hours is fine. :-) Learn more oral contraceptive pill details here. What I do for the medications that I have to take regularly is set up a reminder on my phone, to make sure I never forget a dose. Have you tried doing that? It could make it easier to remember.

I've been on birth control pills for few months now. I was finishing a pack and having my 7 day break to allow the period but it was late 3 days, so do I still start the next pack on the 7th day or should I wait till my period is finished? And if I take it on the 3rd day of my period will it stop it or prolong it? ## Hello, Bess! How are you? You should still start on the 7th day, as scheduled and your period should stop, in the time frame it normally would. Other typical side effects of this medication, as reported by the U.S. FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. If your period continues past it's normal duration, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Missed several pills had spotting but no period 8 days late ## You need to see your dr. You may or may not be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to see your dr. ## Missing pills may also throw off your cycle, even if you don't get pregnant. I'd suggest trying a medication reminder app, if you have a smart phone, or some other reminder system, if you aren't pregnant, to make sure that you don't miss more pills in the future. Are there any other questions or concerns?

My dr gave me thes sprintec bc stop my period I took them for a week and a half I started them to regulate my cycle to get pregnant do one if the pills make you fertile if I take just the blue or white 1s ## No, these pills will not improve your fertility and help you to get pregnant, while you are taking them they actually prevent pregnancy. From what you're describing, it seems he's given them to you so they could help rebalance the hormones in your body, to improve your chances of getting pregnant later, when you stop taking them. However, you won't get pregnant while you are taking them. Learn more oral contraceptive details here. I'm 16 and on Lo Loestrogen FE, I've been on it for probably 9-10 months. My period is always irregular, and last month I had it 10 days early for about 1-3 days and then nothing on the sugar pill days. Now, the following month, my period is currently 2 days late and I'm freaking out. My boyfriend always uses condoms and we check them before throwing out so I know they have never broken. I have bad anxiety and during my last period I was writing 10 IB (very advanced) exams, making me extremely stressed, and the first two days I've expected this period I was on a cadet training weekend which is waking up at 6am and a much much different schedule. I've read these are both things that could mess me up? I have no pregnancy symptoms and have freaked myself out over pregna...

If i started sprintec a week ago on monday with out me being on my period and stopped today on a monday can it prevent me from getting pregnant? ## Hello, Brittney! How are you? No, if you start it later than the second day of your period, it takes a full 7 days for it to become effective at preventing pregnancy and it is only effective as long as you continue taking it. That's why some women have gotten pregnant from just forgetting to take one of them. Femaine is a white pill with a 21 day cycle. Has anyone else tried it yet? ## This is not available in the U.S. and I cannot find any information on it. ## i was told to start the pill on the first day of my period i thought my period was on regular but i was light and it only lasted 2 days now i am wondering am i suppose to stop the pills or continue taking them because i already started. ## To be certain, you should consult your doctor, but the length of your period is usually not the issue, it is the menstrual cycle that is important and when you need to start them. ## can femiane affect your libido ## What are the side effects of Femaine? I had to stop taking Yasmine. ## I have never missed a pill before, but one night i was like 4hr late on taking it. When i did, my partner and had...

I started my sprinted birth control on May 24th and I had intercourse on June 4th. I did miss some pills but after intercourse I also took a plan b pill anyways to be sure! My period still has not come!! ## Hello, Lori! How are you? Missing the pills, coupled with taking the Plan B has likely thrown your hormone levels off, so your period may be late or skipped this month. If you're concerned, please consult your doctor, but it's most likely nothing to worry about. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello! I didn't have a tri sprintec birth control packet for a week, and missed a week of those pills. I'm on the second week, and the 4th week is when I'm scheduled to start. My period app says I was supposed to start yesterday 11-30 and now I'm a day late, when will my period start? ## Hello, Shelby! How are you? Missing that week has most likely thrown off your hormonal balance, so your cycle may not follow it's normal track. It can take a couple months for things to settle down and become regular, some women don't have periods on this oral contraceptive, at all. Last month I accidentally took two pills in one day and the next time I just took one like nothing happened. When it was time to take this month's pack I waited and skipped a day to get back on track with the days. I usually get my period Monday night or Tuesday morning but it hasn't came yet. Am I going to get a period? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Your hormone levels have likely been thrown off, a bit, by the doubling up and then skipping a day. It may take awhile for things to balance back out. Have you gotten your period, yet? You may skip, or it may come later. If you're very concerned, then you should speak to your doctor. (Mono-linyah) is my current birth control I've yet to miss a dosage. I had irregular bleeding and I've been taking it for two months now, as it's helped with the irregular bleeding. but this week I haven't been taking the pill at the exact same time due to a busy schedule but I've been taking them around late afternoon when i get the chance. I had unprotected intercourse and wondering my birth control will work still or should I just take a plan b pill IF I can to be on the safe side?? ## Hello, Rene! How are you? You actually have a window of about 12 hours, before it's considered a late pill and 24 hours, before it's considered a missed pill. Thus, as long as you've been taking them within that time frame, you should be fine. The FDA lists the typical s...

I have been taking Sprintec for about 5 years and I have never had this happen until now. On the second Monday of my pack, I completely forgot to take my pill, I discovered this on that Tuesday when I already found out that I was late for Tuesday too. So I took both pills for Monday and Tuesday, both were late. On an unwise decision, I had intercourse on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday morning I saw blood on my underwear. I immediately panicked thinking it was "spotting" that occurs when one is pregnant. I tried calling my OB's office asking about what I should do and if I should take a pregnancy test and the nurse said that it was too soon to be able to tell if I were. So I continued to take my pills normally in the mean time. A week of waiting on "spotting" ou...

I started taking sprintec in May because I wasn't having a period at all. When I started the white pills on my first pack of sprintec, my period came and it lasted about a week. That also happened all through June. Then I took off about a month and started up again about 6 days ago and I might not have taken it on time, for a couple of the days (meaning a couple hours late). Also on the sixth day of the first week, I had unprotected intercourse. My question is, what is the provability of me being pregnant? ## Hello, Danielle! How are you? When did you start it, when you began taking it, again? Did you start the first or second day of your period? If so, you were immediately protected from pregnancy. However, if you started on the third day or any point later in your cycle, then you...
