Can it be use for a tooth infection?? ## Hello, Daisy! How are you? This tablet contain 500mgs of Amoxicillin, which is an antibiotic and yes, it can be used to treat a dental infection. Additionally, your dentist will need to correct whatever the underlying problem is that has caused the infection, or it will just keep returning. Have you consulted your dentist, yet? ## What if you can't afford a dental examination but have the antibiotics? I know what I've been prescribed before but at this current period of tim...

I have a bad cold and I've been taking a left over script with 2 pills missing from a whole cycle. Amoxicillin 500mg. Is this helping me or hurting me?? ## Hello, Barbara! How are you? You should not be taking an antibiotic for a cold. Antibiotics are only effective against bacterial infections and a cold is caused by a virus, thus antibiotics will do nothing to help. Additionally yes, you could be hurting yourself. Taking antibiotics when unnecessary creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria, as does not completing the full course of antibiotic treatment, when they are prescribed to eradicate an infection. Is there anything else I can help with?

how long after exp. date can you use them ## Hi, Lori! How are you? These contain 500mgs of the antibiotic Amoxicillin and you really shouldn't use them, at all, once they are expired. They start to lose potency after the expiration date and that creates the risk of developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Additionally, that risk is greater if these are leftovers from an old prescription and you don't have enough to complete a full course of treatment. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. It is best to see your doctor for a new prescription. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had my teeth pulled I'd say about a year ago. Is my teva 3109 still good? I fell in the Shower and knocked out my Front Tooth. I need to take antibiotics. It's the Holiday so the Dentist is not open today. ## Hello, Lynnette! How are you? I'm sorry about happened. However, knocking out a tooth does not necessarily mean that an antibiotic is required. As detailed by the NIH, an antibiotic is only required, in the even of an actual infection, or if there is a very high risk of one occurring, such as with certain types of surgery. Taking an antibiotic, when it is not appropriate could result in your developing antibiotic resistance, and that could create life-threatening problems in the future. It would be best to wait, until you can see your doctor or dentist, so they can pr...
