My prescription is 1MG I want to make sure I have the right one. My pills are light yellow, and small. I just had a refill and they seem a little bigger. The numbers on the pill itself are 210 on one side and 1 G on the other side. Is this 1MG? Thank you! ## HI Tracie, I can confirm that the pill in description is in fact Folic Acid (1 mg). Vitamin B9 (folic acid and folate inclusive) is essential to numerous bodily functions ranging from nucleotide biosynthesis to the remethylation of homocysteine. I am a 18 year old girl and according to clinic i am pregnant my friend gave me some small yellow tablets in a bottle labeled Be-tab folic acid is this the correct tablets and what are they for and can i take them being pregnant. ## I am pretty sure that what you were given is a nutritional supplement containing Folic Acid 5 mg. This is supposed to be a good supplement for women to take while pregnant. "Women who had 4 mg of folic acid in their systems due to supplementing 3 months before childbirth significantly reduced the risk of NTD within the fetus. This is now advocated by the UK department of health, recommending 400 mcg per day of folic acid." You can also read more about general nutrition for pregnancy at: Hope this information helps! I have got hepetitis B. I heared from one of TV medical program that medicine for this problem is Alpha Folic Acid. I do not understand, what kinde of medecine it is. what should be the dosage and for how long should I take it, what would be the side affects of using it. ## I believe what you heard them referring to was Alpha Lipoic Acid. It is not actually a medication though, it is a nutritional supplement that is believed to help support liver function, as well as having other health benefits. Therefore, it should not the first line treatment for any form of Hepatitis, because it is not actually proven to do anything. Before adding it, you should consult with your doctor to make sure it is safe for you to do so. Are there any other questions or comments?

Can this be used by my wife ..She is Pregnant. Below is the description of the product. NUTRILITE Iron-Folic is a unique combination of Iron and Folic acid. Nutrilite Iron-Folic provides two of the best tolerated and well absorbed forms of iron (ferrous fumarate and ferrous gluconate), combined with folic acid in a base containing the exclusive Nutrilite Spinach Concentrate. ## Is she currently taking any other supplements? Was this prescribed by her doctor or have you spoken to them about her taking it? The reason I am asking is, because while Folic Acid or a Multi-Vitamin supplement are normally given during pregnancy to make sure the mother and baby both have enough nutrients, too much iron can be just as dangerous as not having enough. That said, this site is not medical professiona...

My doctor prescribed me folwise tablet as me and my husband planning for baby. Medical shop I got folvite 5 mg tablet. Just want to make sure if both are same. If yes will it have any side effects. ## Folwise actually contains 2 nutritional supplements, Folic Acid and Docosahexaenic Acid, which is an Omega 3 fatty acid. Folvite just contains the Folic Acid. However, when it comes to wanting to get pregnant and have a healthy baby, the important one here is the Folic Acid, if you don't have enough of it, your baby can be born with severe birth defects, so it is the important one to worry about. As to side effects, since this is a nutritional supplement, rather than a medication, the side effect profiles for it are not studied, as is done for drugs. The only thing really known is that...

I am 43 year old mother of two. i am suffering from arthritis and have been taking Folitrax 10 mg from the past 4 years 1 tablet per week. I have hot flashes at night and i feel like i am having memory loss and despite my repeated hard work i am not able to lose weight instead i am gaining it. are these possible side effects of the medication ? kindly help me soon. ## Hi, Sunita! It's really difficult to say for sure what might be causing these symptoms, though they aren't usually caused by the Folitrax. At your age, they could very well be due to hormonal fluctuations from having anovulatory cycles. Perimenopause can start as young as 35, but is most common in the early to mid-40's and the issues you're experiencing are typical signs of a lack of ovulation causing you t...

What is folic acid used for? What are the side effects? Can it help with diabetes? Does it affect energy levels? Please let me know. ## Having a healthy baby means making sure you're healthy, too. One of the most important things you can do to help prevent serious birth defects in your baby is to get enough folic acid every day — especially before conception and during early pregnancy. What Is Folic Acid? Folic acid, sometimes called folate, is a B vitamin (B9) found mostly in leafy green vegetables like kale and spinach, orange juice, and enriched grains. Repeated studies have shown that women who get 400 micrograms (0.4 milligrams) daily prior to conception and during early pregnancy reduce the risk that their baby will be born with a serious neural tube defect (a birth defe...

I've been using Oralcon for over 2 years, I'm very happy with it. The other day I by accidently started on the wrong side (ie: didn't go according to the arrow indicated), but only noticed when I needed to take the 2nd pill. So I carried on, thinking it was the correct thing to do, but I'm not so sure. Do I keep going backwards for this week and start the new line as per the arrows, or do I start the line again? I'm really nervous that I've screwed up the whole cycle and have opened myself up to becoming pregnant. Please help!! ## Hello, Blondie! How are you?
