Im switching from Saboxone to this Suvutex I wanted information ## Those two drugs are similar, both have Buprenorphine as an active chemical. The difference is that Suboxone contains buprenorphine hydrochloride and naloxone hydrochloride, whereas Subutex just has the buprenorphine hydrochloride. Both are used to treat opioid dependence and help with withdrawals. The following text was taken from an article on the FDA: 1. What are Suboxone and Subutex? Subutex and Suboxone are medications approved for the treatment of opiate dependence. Both medicines contain the active ingredient, buprenorphine hydrochloride, which works to reduce the symptoms of opiate dependence. 2. Why did the FDA approve two medications? Subutex contains only buprenorphine hydrochloride. This formulation was develo...

What does all subext look like ## I'm unable to post a photo due to copyright reasons. However, there are far too many pill images of subutex (buprenorphine) to link to as it is. But if it's still of any help, here is the description for a few tablets that I managed to come across on the internet: - A round white pill with 54 411 on one side and blank on the other, contains 8mgs of buprenorphine hydrochloride. - An orange oval pill with 153 on one side and a half moon logo on the other, contains 8mgs of buprenorphine hydrochloride. - A white oval pill with B8 on one side and scored on the other, contains 8mgs of buprenorphine hydrochloride. - A white oval pill with the letter "b" on one side and 798 on the other, contains 2mgs of buprenorphine hydrochloride. Do you have ...

I take 20mgs of methadone, im wanting to know what would happen if I switch to subtex and would it would be safe to start the same day? Took it 10 a.m. today. ## Absolutely NOT. I was switched due to a heart condition, did it in the hospital I was admitted to for a week til my heart got ok. Was sent home with subutex, 3 times a day. It's been about 6 weeksand I still have to show pos. for methadone. I went throu horrible withdrawal just 2 week's ago, every time I had taken it I got sick. Doctors said it made no sense. One doc explained that the subutex kicks off the other opiates. Up to you but I would never do it again. ## What Tracy has stated is correct, The Buprenorphine in the Subtext takes a stronger hold on the opiate receptors, which is why it's used to help prevent ...

IM GOING TO BE OUT OF MY MEDS!?!? is there somewhere in LA that will fill it without me having this prb or even in Mississippi!

I wasn't able to afford my regularly prescribed 2 subutex this past Friday. My doctor gave me prescription for Zubsolv along with a coupon for 15 free to get me through till I could afford my subutex the following week. The zubsolv is making me extremely sick. I feel nauseous, sick to my stomach, lite headed and just not myself at all. I hate it to the point I'm only taken 1 zubsolv a day just so I'm not super sick in DTs. My question is??? I took a Zubsolv this morning at 7am and its now 5:30pm. I'm starting to feel very sick. I have a subutex and was wondering if it be safe for me to take a piece of it to make me feel better? I can't take zubsolv anymore I can't stand the way it makes me feel and the sick feeling that goes along with it the throughout the day. ...

I have been filling my subutex at Walgreen since December now they will not fill them because I'm not pregnant! No one else at different pharmacies are having this problem. But ever pharmacy I call isn't taking anyone new. I've been out for 5days and scared of relapse. Please help! ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. This is a controlled substance, which means that if you're just calling pharmacies, you're going to keep getting such answers. They have no way of knowing if the person on the other end of the phone is a legitimate customer with a need, or a potential thief. You'll actually need to go to the pharmacies, with your prescription in hand, to find out if they can fill it. As to Walgreen's not fillin...

How much methadone should i take while im taking one subtext everyday? ## When it comes to proper dosing protocols, usually your doctor is the best person to ask. However I have heard that Methadone and Subutex are sometimes approved to be used together since Subutex doesn't have Naloxone. And please correct me if I'm wrong, but in that aspect you shouldn't have to worry about Subutex taking Methadone off the receptors as Suboxone would; leading to precipitated withdrawals. I would just encourage you to discuss how much you should be taking with your doctor, since he/she is the one prescribing it. Does anyone else have advice from personal experience?

Can you take Subutex 10 hours after consuming methadone in the same day? ## Hello, Homer! How are you? As long as your doctor has approved it, then yes. Subutex does not contain the Naloxone, like Suboxone does, which would neutralize the Methadone that may cause dangerous precipitated withdrawals. As listed by the NIH: This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## First hand experience, because I don't with this on my worst enemy, but I take methadone and has been out and so I took subutec and about hour later, got hotflashes pouring swear, body shaking, using bathroom on my self because couldn't hold it, I was in ...

My husband has been on subtext for almost 8 years when he first started going to the clinic we thought that he was going to be weaned off the opiates but every trip to the doctors he was giving a prescription for more subtext which we are being charge a three hundred dollar visit every month and that doesn't include the price to have the prescription filled which we can't afford so my question is can he safely get off of this medicine? ## Yes, but it will require a slow taper to prevent withdrawal issues, since it does contain an opiate. The FDA warns that suddenly stopping it could cause rebound effects, such as nausea, pain, elevated heart rate, elevated blood pressure, fever, chills, and diarrhea. His doctor should be able to help him set up a proper tapering schedule. Has he...

I haven't been using subtext in the manner in which it was prescribed, and I've notice a change in my vision. If I stop and start taking subutex under my tongue will my vision become normal again or is change is vision a life long thing. ## Hello, Hkay! How are you? There is really no way to say, it has been known to be a side effect of Subutex, as listed by the FDA and it did go away for more people after discontinuing the medication. However, if that's what has caused it, then even taking it a different way will not stop it from occurring. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you had this checked out by a doctor, yet?

I've been taking about 3mg subtext for three months and was going to switch to methadone. Took 20mg today. I've decided it just isn't for me. I want to go back to the subutex. How long do I need to wait to safety take the subutex. ## If you took the methadone while the subutex was still in you system, the subutex would have eliminated the methadone. You should be ok to go back to subs. Do some research first cause im not 100% sure. good luck!!! ## I took 10 mg. of methadone last night at around 10pm for the very first time. I just got a script for subtext today, I’m from WV but was wondering if there was anywhere in Waynesburg that would fill my script for me? Also I am prego. Which I did go to a place in Washington where my appointment was but they wanted $392 for 56 of them I thought that was a little bit ridiculous. ## They should be willing to fill it, as long as it was written in PA, though in some cases, your being from out of state might be a problem, since it is a controlled substance. Subutex does contain Buprenorphine, which is an opiate most commonly used to treat drug addiction. Dear VerWon, I now know the difference between suboxone and subtext. But, why would one Dr. Choose one over the other? Is the suboxone used for addiction and subtext used for just pain? ## Hello, Cats68! How are you? As I said in my prior post, Suboxone includes Naloxone to prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is being treated with it for addiction and that is exactly why it is usually preferred over Subutex. Subutex is usually the choice when someone has a bad reaction to the Naloxone or is pregnant. However, both can treat pain. Does this clear it up for you? :-) ## Dear Dr. Thank u for the information. All cleared up. ## As for mself....I had major allergic reactions to generic suboxone pills as well as name brand and subutex. The only form of combination of meds was S...
