So i was wondering what is the next step up in something stronger... i dont want the 10/600 dosage , Percocet just isnt for me....Can anyone help me?? ## Hi Stephen, I actually came across a chart listing all of the top pain killers, ranking them from weakest to strongest. And it looks like morphine sulfate would most-likely be the next step up from what you're taking now. You can view the chart here to get an idea of what options are out there: I hope this helps to answer your question! ## Well i am already taking the Fentanyl Patch so i would like to avoid morphine...So what else would work? ## The... ...

The pa (I currently have been assigned at a rehabilitation place I have been placed at to recover from a lower leg, no weight bearing break) wants me to take morphine instead of Percocet. I have been taking it for 16 years for the ms I have. ## The Oxycodone in Percocet is one and a half times stronger than Morphine. So, Morphine could still help alleviate your pain, but the dosage must be carefully calculated. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Oxycodone IS the generic form of Percocet. (Percocet is the name brand, as Advil= IBprofun & Tylenol=Acetimeniphen.) your doc has u on the 5mg instead of the 10mg, probably for a reason-so be careful, this addiction Thing is no joke. I have been prescribed 30 mg roxicodone. Changed from Percocet. Seems to be working today. (First day) do they last all day. My pain was gone in 30 minutes. Wondering about tolerance. Took 10 mg Percocet 4 × day for a year. I have fluid on my brain and back problems ## How many times a day has your doctor instructed you to take it? The base narcotic in both are the same, it's Oxycodone, so equivalency is going to depend on how often you are taking it. Usually, according to NIH reports, Roxicodone is taken 3 to 4 times a day. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ...

I take Lortab 10's, Fentanyl 100mg patch every 3 days and Ibuprofen. I stay in constant pain and wanted to know what I could switch to that would be stronger and help with my constant pain. I've been on all 3 medicines and alot of other medicine (not pain medicine) for over 3yrs. ## Yes, it only takes 6.67mgs of Oxycodone to equal each 10mgs of Hydrocodone, so the Percocet would be stronger. Learn more Percocet details here. Oxycodone is also available by itself, without the Acetaminophen, in a regular release formulation, so you also may want to ask your doctor about that. It is another narcotic opiate, so it also has the potential to be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Im taking 15mg of morphin and my doctor wants to give me percocet due to recent diagnosis,so I'm kinda wondering if the medication I have now is better or is it about the same?? ## Hi Shelly, According to, Oxycodone (one of the main active ingredients in Percocet) is said to be approximately 1.5x stronger than Morphine. If this holds true and I did the math correctly, then 7.5mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 11.25mg of Morphine (7.5 x 1.5 =11.25); and 10mg of Oxycodone would be equal to about 15mg of Morphine (10 x 1.5 =15). The addition of Acetaminophen in Percocet would probably top the 15mg of Morphine if you were prescribed the 10/325 dosage form. I hope this makes sense!? Never the less, you should be able to trust your doctor to prescribe something of similar or... ...

Hi my name is Rosy and I'm suffering from breast cancer and fibromalgia and spinal stenosis and herniated disks my pain management prescribed me peecocet10mg325 And my primary doctor prescribed me oxicoden 10mg. Cr I feel the this oxicodene10mg.crare not relieve the pain as much is the percoxe 10mg.325 Thank you so much for your help . ## Hello, Rosy! How are you feeling? The reason you may feel that the Percocet relieves your pain more is due to the Acetaminophen that it contains. It helps the Oxycodone to work better for some people that take it. Thus, though they both contain Oxycodone, the Acetaminophen may give it just enough of a boost to help you more. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef... ...

My primary dr has me on 10 mg percocet, 2 every 4 hrs for chronic/severe leg pain but it has lost it's effectiveness. I have appt w/pain mgt clinic on the 18th for the 1st time and am hoping they rx something stronger & definitely something that lasts longer. I haven't slept a full night in almost 2 years due to waking up in pain, taking meds, waiting for them to kick in and waiting to fall asleep again. Does anyone have an educated guess on what they may rx or what works well for this problem? Just curious and very excited at the prospect of having this pain under control. ## There are actually several time released medications that they may choose from. He said it's supposed 2b stronger than Percocet. Can sum1 tell me if that's true. Sincerely-B. 9/12/16 ## Hello, Blacky! How are you? No, it is about the same, maybe a little weaker, depending on your body's individualism. If you look at the NIH pages regarding this, Percocet contains Oxycodone with Acetaminophen. The Acetaminophen augments that action of the Oxycodone for some people that take it. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Does Percocet come in 15mg ? And has anyone tryed it in liquid form? Does it affect you stronger? Thanks sassy..... ## Percocet does Not come in 15 mg. Percocet is a combination of oxycodone and acetaminphen. There is a Oxycodone Oral Solution. There is 5 mg in every 5 ml. A dr isn't going to prescribe Oxycodone Oral Solution to replace Percocet unless he believes it is in the best interest of the patient. hi, ive been on Norco 10/325 for about two years now and my pain on a scale of 1-10 is a 10, what could I take that is stronger, ive thought about Percocet for a while but not sure. thanks nona ## Hi nona, Sorry to hear about the challenges you're having with pain management. A few other options that come to mind as far as being something potentially stronger than Norco, are those names listed below: Percocet Percodan Meperidine Dextropropoxyphene Hydromorphone (Opana) Although medications like percocet or percodan may be similar in potency to norco, the fact of the matter is that each type of drug can, and often does effect each personal differently (largely influenced by one's individual tolerance and body chemistry). I'm taking percocet 10/650mg. I have (DDD), (Athritis), and the list goes on. I have a friend on Norco. Can you tell me what the difference is between them and the highest mg the norco comes in? THANK YOU SO MUCH! ## The Percocet is way better then the Norco, and the reason is because Percocet contains Oxycodone and Norco contains Hydrocodone. What im trying to say is Oxycodone is a stronger and longer lasting Opiate then Norco. {Edited for safety} just make sure to watch how much Tylenol/Acetaminophen ur taking, try not to take more 4000 to 5000mgs cause it can damage ur liver. The best Percocet you can get is 10-650 and 10-325 The best Norco you can get is 10-325 or Lorcets which are 10-650 . percocet to norco

I've been off Percocet 10mg since January 19th 2015 in which I went from taking 4 to 8 a day to taking none. I had taken Norco 10 from 1996 until May of 2010 and had done great on the Norco but ruptured a disk in my neck & had to go to something stronger until I was evaluated for surgery. I was not a candidate for surgery so I started neurontin to try to give it time to heal. It did heal but by that time I was stuck on the percocet. Back to present day my pain has started coming back so I want to get ahead of it but not back to the percocet. My question is since my system has detoxed from the percocet, will the norco 10 help with the pain? ## Hello, Anna! How are you? The only way to find out is to try it and see. I have Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Diabetes #2, Sciatica down both legs, Piriformis Syndrome, L4 L5 S1 Vertabre Fracture x2, Osteoarthritis in my spine, knees, thumbs, feet! Chronic numbness down my right leg, groin area that hurts like hell. I started out taking Darvocet and have worked my way up to Percocet 325/10 for the last 3 years. I was wondering IF Opana would work better? My doctor wanted to put me on Oxycotin, but of course my insurance won't pay for it, not even with a required PA! So according to Medicare Part D (which I have) they need a PA for Oxycotin, but not one for Opana! Oxycotin is considered a class 3 and Opana a class 2 drug! So is Opana as strong as Oxycotin?
