A friend gave me this small white, round sleeping pill with an X and two lines on the top and bottom of the X. I was told to put it under your tongue instead of swallowing it, and let it dissolve. What are these pills called and how intense are they for a sleep aid? ## sounds like a benzdiazepine, probably, Xanax. typically these are used for anxiety issues. The problem with these class of meds is they are highly addicting, and very rapidly absorbed into the blood stream. It is also known to cause impairment and confusion. They are only recommended for short-term use. ## It is sublingual ambirn

Just l'd like to know which pill is stronger the yellow 10-325 or the white 10-325mg norco or hydrocodone. ## I'm sure you realize that both have the same active ingredients, and both are the same strength, so you are (in theory) not supposed to be able to tell a difference. However, as a matter of personal preference, I tend to find the yellow ones have a slight higher absorption rate, which has to do a lot with what you're eating before/after taking them, and a little to do with the difference in fillers. If given a choice, I would choose the yellow ones...but you likely won't see a marked difference either way. ## There can be slight fluctuations from one generic to another. It isn't a noticeable difference for most people, but some are sensitive to even the sligh...

I've been taking zolpidem tartrate aka ambien for 11 years. As soon as the generic came out by Teva I noticed it does not put me to sleep at all. None of my meds have changed. Have you heard any complaints about the strength of Teva's zolpidem? ## Hello, Gi! How are you? Has there been any change? Is the marking TEVA 74? That should be the marking on their 10mg Zolpidem tablet. However, there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to another. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ from the name brand by as much as plus or minus 20% and they don't have to measure against other generics, just the name brand. Thus, one could be slightly higher or lower in the amount of the active ingredient than another one. Though, s...

It looks to be a slightly larger, oblong white pill, broken in half with only an imprint of the letter U showing ## Hi Shauna, From what I can tell, the closest thing I'm seeing as far as a possible match is concerned, is a white oblong shaped pill marked with "U 0 3" on one side and scored on the other. If this is the correct pill you'd probably also be able to see half of a "0" to the right of the "U". This one in particular is a generic Norco 10/325 tablet. However there are other white pills I'm seeing which have a "U" on one half of the tablet (being divided by a score line); whereas if you were to break it in half you'd only see a "U" and nothing else.... they are just oval shaped and not necessarily elongated AND oval so I w...

Hi I have been taking the hi tech bupe (white pill with 8 and arrow) for a couple years and recently this month I’ve noticed that it effects me differently and does not last as long, makes me very sleepy, etc. I was Looking at them to see if they are different in any way and all I noticed is the arrows seem to go in different directions on every pill. Maybe I’m just paranoid but I thought before, the arrow lined up straight with the 8. On these ones, some go straight across horizontal and point to left or right and some point diagonally either with the arrow facing up or down. I’m just wondering if they have always been that way, especially since I’ve felt different I worry about counterfeit meds. I’d hope that couldn’t happen at a pharmacy but who kn...

i don`t know why'but my pham. replaced my round white pill, with a orange oblong pill that seems like half the strength .ZOLPIDEM TARTRATE 10mg. what is the deal. is it just cheaper. chould i change pharmacy and get the old brand. i asked ,and she said it was TEVA this was -almost 2yrs. ago .i NEED TO SLEEP!!!!! ## Hi Brian, After doing some research on this, I found that most of the oblong/capsule-shaped Zolpidem tablets are only 5mg doses (the round white pill being a 10mg dose). Do you know what the markings are on the orange oblong pill? If so, I may be able to look up the dose and inactive ingredients of it. Generally when you switch brand names or manufacturers the drug itself doesn't change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. Certain "inactive"...

White round pill with the word siam on one side and a letter v on the other side. ## HI, Pac! Where did you find this one? Unfortunately, I haven't been able to discover exactly what it contains. However, what I can tell you is that it's from Thailand, so someone most likely brought it into the U.S. with them on a trip or something. The name of the manufacturer is Siam Pharmaceuticals, but they don't require them to register the imprints, so there's no database of them. The best thing to do with it would be to just make sure to properly disuse of it. Is anyone familiar with this tablet? ## I agree that these pills come from Thailand, I have one that says Siam on one side and just 2 on the other side - I think they might be sleeping pills? ## It's me again, I know thi...

My husband will not take his sleeping pill. He stays up all night. Should I crush it up and put it in his food ## Hello, Bump! How are you? If he is of normal sound mind then no, you can't do that. It would actually be considered illegal. I know you're worried about him, but if he just doesn't want to take it and prefers to deal with his insomnia, then that is his right. If he isn't of sound mind and you are supposed to make sure that the takes it, then whether or not you can crush it and give it to him that way depends on which one he is supposed to be taking, since some of them are time released. Which one has he been prescribed and what is the dosage? ## It starts with a A. Ambiance I think That's how u spell it ## Did you mean Ambien? It is used for the short-ter...

I am disabled veteran with chronic pain, and after reading some of these, and knowing how terrible life was before I was prescribed both types, I just cannot believe, or understand "why" it is not treated with respect, and the beneficial results, it produces. I have been taking the same dosage except for a increase in the # of SR tablets per day, and some days, I still have pain, but not to the extent, I experienced for over 20 years trying to work and be a productive citizen. People, take as prescribed, or you do not need it. My life, is not pain free, but I am not in agony, anymore. I, have a profound respect for the medication, that changed my life. ## Hi PainMan, I think that these types of pain meds tend to carry a tarnished reputation simply because of the high amount of a...

It's a little round white pill with a u on one side and a slit on the other. Can you tell me what it is? ## Hi Elizabeth, The description doesn't sound like anything I've ever encountered on a US prescription drug, so my thoughts are naturally leaning in the direction of something that was made overseas. If that is the case by chance, I'd be interested to know whether you have any specific details on its origin or how you might've come about it? One other question I have due to the lack of information I'm able to find on the internet, is if it's apparent that the letter "U" is being represented as any type of pharmaceutical logo or symbol that depicts a certain manufacturer? I find this to be the case with some drug companies such as Actavis who put u...

I found Subutex in my daughter's room with a needle. Do people really IV this? Why do people take it that dont need it? ## The pill in description is Buprenorphine hydrochloride (subutex) 8 mg. It is a semi-synthetic opioid that is used to treat opioid addiction in higher dosages (>2mg) and to control moderate pain in non-opioid tolerant individuals in lower dosages (~200 mg). Yes, Subutex can be administered intravenously. This is a very addictive drug that gives off a euphoric rush similar to other opioids in addition to a slight "upper"-like effect. ## Hello, administering these intravenously is very dangerous so please take them from her and tell her she is messing with her life, i am only 24 and have never used a needle but have had drug problems all my life since i...
