I have been taking exforge hct for several years. I am convinced that I have a chronic stuffed nose as a side effect. I have had surgery. But the stuffed nose returned. I told my doctor that prescribed this medication that I think my stuffed nose is because of this but he continues to prescribe it. I continue to take it . And I dont sleep well with a chronic stuffed nose. ## Exforge HCT contains Amlodipine, Valsartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, this combination medication is used to treat high blood pressure and some cardiac conditions. And, yes, the nasal congestion is actually listed as a very common side effect of using this medication, along with nausea, peripheral edema and dizziness. Have you tried asking your doctor about switching to a different medication?

When was the generic form of Exforge 10-320mg tabs become available to the public ## Hello, Kim! How are you? It was just approved in 2007, so it will likely be several more years, before a generic is available. The exclusive patent rights for prescription medications usually last for about 20 years, then they can file appeals to prevent generics from being released for even longer periods of time. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, increased urination and hypotension. If it is too expensive for you, there are similar medications that are available as generics, so you may want to ask your doctor about them. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on exforge for 4 years and recently found out im expecting. Will my baby be ok and normal if i took the med. For first 6 wks? I read that u should not take exforge while pregnant. Im worried ## Hello, Bridgette! How are you? There is some evidence of possible risk to taking it, while pregnant. The best thing to do would be to inform your doctor, so they can switch you to a safer medication and check for any possible problems. Labetalol is usually the preferred one for high blood pressure during pregnancy. It may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and low blood pressure. Is there anything else I can help with?

I as put on Co Diovan BP medication 15 months ago after being admitted to ICU with what the cardiologist seemed to think was arterial fibrillation. He said it was exactly the right medicine for my problem. I have just come out of ICU again now after having a transient ischemic attack. I am now on 5 different medications. My question is could the Co Diovan which I was taking before, have had anything to do with the second problem. The specialist I saw now said no. My second question is what will the other medication I am on now do to me. I am onCarloc 12.5mg, Exforge 10 ml, Adco Simvastatin and aspirin. The cardiologist said I did not need aspirin, now I do. I also have to be very careful of any medication with sulphur in it as 10 years ago I got Stephen-Johnson Syndrome from a sulphur d...

can I take Benadryl while I take a daily Blood Pressure med called Exforge ## Hello, Jeff! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between them, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be sure. However, Benadryl is usually the preferred medication to treat allergies in BP and heart patients. It may cause side effects, such as dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Learn more Benadryl details here. I take it with my BP meds, without any issues. Is there anything else I can help you with?

I am taking exforge. But BP was still around 145/155 over 60. HR Pulse around 65. Dr put me on 5mg of Bystolic 3 days ago which lowered BP to 125 avg. over 60 but lowered my HR to 52/58 range. I usually go on 2-3 mile but now get breathless when walking or working in the yard. Is this a temporary side effect and should I be concerned. ## Hello, Chuck! How are you? Has there been any change? Yes, if you're experiencing symptoms, you should consult your doctor, you may need to switch to a different medication. Other side effects, as reported by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased urination.

How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're having. Metoprolol is a beta blocker that is listed by the FDA as most commonly being used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Yes, there is a risk of that, but not a very high one. My mom has sores under the plate in her mouth. The clinic has given her Ilvitrim 400g tablets. Is it safe for her to take these together with her co exforge blood pressure tablets? Also with the Ilvitrim she was told to take 2 tablets every 2 hours: that does not sound right to me? ## Hello, Mich! How is your mom doing? Yes, they can be taken together, as long as her doctor approves. But it may cause an elevation in her potassium level, so her doctor should be monitoring her regularly. And yes, that can be a normal dosage, depending on how severe the infection from sores has become. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. It might be best to leave the plate out and for her to only eat soft foods for a...
