i went to 8 pharmacies to get my monthly refills yesterday . I still have none.. whats going on?? I too live in the tampa area. thanks. ## I'm sorry that you're having so much trouble getting your prescription filled. There was a large distributor who was recently shut down, due to questions over the large amounts of controlled substances they moved each month. This has caused many pharmacies in that area to be short on supply, until such a time as new distributor takes over. Learn more Methadone details here. Is there anything else I can help with?

I know theres a billion threads on this but I get prescribed xanax 90 a month. My last fill was on 6/3/15 and its 6/25/15 now. My question is can I fill it 4 days early or only 3? I would be OUT of meds on the 2nd ( if I took last 3 that day) so do I count the 3rd of july as a day or count from the day I run out ( the 2nd of july) as in 3 days before. If that makes sense. I wanna known if it would 3 days before my fill date or 3 days before I run out counting the same day. I'm in florida. I get anxiety and dont wanna get red flagged or anything calling early for it. Thanks guys ## You should be able to, depending on the Pharmacy. You have a 30 day supply and 4 days is usually allowed! ## You wouldn't get flagged for that, just a few days. Doc will either fill or deny. If denies ...

Please understand early refills depend on insurance and federal law most scripts have to be 90% complete before a refill is authorized some even with controlled substances will do it 7-9 days ahead of time my xanax gets refilled 7 days early everytime with no issues but understand unless your insurance authorizes a week early refill the pharmacy by law cant do nothing even if you wanna pay with cash ## A Pharmacy that fills a controlled substance early is not following the law correctly. I find my insurance will pay for a new refill at the 75% point. I am able to stock up on extra meds. This should not work the same way for Xanax and doesn't. Still I have over 1000 extra, go figure? ## Will CVS fill my perscroption for diazapam one day early. I have adhisive capulitas. Itake 5mg in ...

AsthmaNefrin has kept me alive. It really relieves my asthma with no side effects. I wish the FDA would quit picking on this very effective and safe relief from asthma. ## There may be some hope. An Epinephrine Inhaler called "Prime Asthma Relief" is being marketed by its inventor Dr. James Z. Liu, MD, PhD. He is also working on another product called "EpiMist". An OTC Mist Epinephrine for Asthma. Also, read the many reviews that give his products 5 stars. ## Hi Lois & Gerry. I got an email today saying that EpiMist is now available at the Dr. Natural Healing, Inc. site. A bottle of 250 sprays costs $65 which isn't cheap but at least the shipping is free. I placed an order for one try it out. I tried their Prime Asthma Relief product with just so-so results as th...

My pain doctor gives me my precription for Norco for my 1st 30 day supply with 3 refills.I'm haivng my 2nd to the last one filled in the next day or so with one more refill left to e filled end of October/1st of November. I've been told that I won't be able to get that last refill without going BACK to me doctor because of the new law for prescription drugs. I was also told that the pharmacy issupposed to go ahead and fill the rest of my refills now, "Just this one time" in accordance with this new law. Is this TRUE? ## You will need to see your dr for Norco after Oct 6, 2014. Some pharmacies aren't doing refills after Oct 3 and other may refuse sooner. There is nothing in the new law regarding the just this one time. And it would be illegal for any pharmacy to g...

If my script states "may fill on 11/30", is that the same as "do not fill until"? Just wondering if I could pick up before 11\30. Thank you ## Hello, Ladybug! How are you? Yes, it would be considered the same by most pharmacies, according to the DEA prescribing directions. Is it a controlled substance? Those are typically the ones that doctors write that on. Generally, it may be done with some opiates, stimulants and benzodiazepines. ## Thank you for replying! Yes, it is for my pain med. He had never wrote that before so I was a little confused. I didn't know if they would except it today or not. I am actually due to fill today but he messed up with the 30th date on it . The office was closed to get it corrected. I'll just have to wait i guess. Thanks again ## Ye...

My pain doctor just informed me that he can longer offer refills on my norco because of it being classed as a schedule 2 drug norcotic now. That means i must go every month now and pay for an office visit. I know that is true in New York but i am not aware of any changes in Alabama law. As I do not have insurance now that would be a huge added expense to me. It would be a big added expensive even if I did with a $60 copay. Does anyone know of this change in legislation that I cant find? ## Craig, some doctors, as they can't write refills, write 3 additional original prescriptions with them dated for the next three months. They can't be filled until that date arrives. You only have to pay the office visit every three to four months. Check with your pain doctor, he may be able to ...

Hello, I just moved to North Dakota two weeks ago and I have a prescription for Xanax. I filled my prescription on the 27th of July 2015 and am due for a refill on the 26th this month (August 2015). I live in a small town, Scranton, ND and the closest pharmacy to me is in Bowman, ND, about 13 miles away, and from what I have been told, the prices at the pharmacy there are extremely overpriced. Currently I am unemployed and cannot afford the prices I have heard that they have, so I'm going to have to travel to Dickinson, ND, around an hour away from where I live, at their local Wal Mart to get a refill. Problem is, I own an old rundown '89 pickup truck that I don't think would be safe to make the trek in, so I'm going to have to get a ride from my father on one of his day...

My internal Dr. retired and I am having a BIG problem finding another Dr. who will fill Adderall for my ADD for me. Does anyone from the Rockford area know of any Drs in this area? I have been taking this for 11 years and I really need it to cope. I have called several Drs. and ask the office if they know if this DR. prescribed this and they will say yes, then when I go to the appt, they won't prescribe them. Please help if you know of anyone ?? Thank you so much for reading this. ## Ok.... all you have to do is get your records from an insurance company. I am close to where u live. You have to prove you have been prescribed for so long, by printing out your rx records on walgreens.com and they have to keep u on your medicine or call your insurance company. ## I wish it was that eas...

I had a 2 fills written in Sept. 1 was filled and the other now says non-refillable. I thought the law stated that refills written prior to 10/6/14 would still be allowed to be filled. Isn't that the law? All prescriptions for HCPs must comply with 21 U.S.C. 829(a) and must be issued in accordance with 21 CFR part 1306 and subpart C of 21 CFR part 1311 as of October 6, 2014. No RX's for HCPs issued on or after October 6, 2014 shall authorize any refills. Any prescriptions for HCPs that are issued before October 6, 2014, and authorized for refilling, may be dispensed in accordance with 21 CFR 1306.22–1306.23, 1306.25, and 1306.27, if such dispensing occurs before April 8, 2015. ## Hi Vincent: Yes, that is the federal law. State law could always take priority, but I doubt on...

I'm having problems getting my prescriptions filled at cvs because the pharmacist doesn't feel comfortable filling it. I have been prescribed promethazineDM for over a year now but my allergies have been so bad I had to start getting the codeine instead of the DM. The pharmacist said that I have been prescribed the medication too much but this is only my 3rd prescription with the codeine and they all have only been 4oz each. The last time I had it filled at cvs has been over a month ago and they still won't fill it because they said I need refills or a bigger amount instead of bringing a new script every couple of weeks.. can someone please give me any advise it would be greatly appreciated. ## Codeine is an opiate narcotic, it is used to alleviate pain and will not actually...

When I found out my regular doctor couldn't get me in on an appointment JUST to get medication refills, I asked if I could see another Dr. in the building...figured they could just talk to each other so I can prove I'm not an addict and get my medication..receptionist told me it didn't matter, only the ORIGINAL attending physician could prescribe class 4 or whatever narcotics...that I have been on for nearly 15 years and decreased the dosage myself from 820 mg. day to 90...What do people do if they are DYING and can't get in to their doctor...and what if I just didn't like my doctor and wanted to switch to a new dr? I am now in the position of either going without ANY medication for 10 days or so, taking a really high dose of extended release that I have left, or cut...

MY DOCTOR IN MAINE SAYS HE CAN NO LONGER PRESCRIBE METHADONE FOR PAIN ANYMORE BY LAW BECAUSE IT CAUSE ARISMA TO YOUR HEART. (IS THIS TRUE OR NOT) ## I have to admit that I can't find anything on this, but it is highly possible. For various reasons, many states on the east coast and into the mid-west have been making radical changes to their prescribing laws. Some of them restrict what general practitioners can and cannot prescribe, as well as how long they can prescribe something, how much they can prescribe each month and etc. Learn more Methadone details here. Since he is a licensed medical practitioner, I have to think that your doctor would know what he's talking about. What alternative treatments did he offer? ## I called wall greens here in Oregon They said a Doctor can pr...

I wear a 100 Mcg Fentyl patch every 48 hrs and I am giving 10;a 20 day supply. I live in New Jersey. How many days early( besides the full 20 day's), can I refill them? ## Zero days!!!! fentanyl is one the most dangerous rxs on the market especially that route of administration (transdermal) second only to methadone. If your dose isn't holding you (most intractable patients receive effective analgesia for 72 hrs) speak to the prescribing doc. Perhaps there's a more effective pain relieving option available or additional short acting rx for "breakthrough" pain. It's very easy for some uniformed overworked pharmacy tech. or rph to misconstrue your intentions (ESPECIALLY in NJ of late). That's the last thing you need, I've been on both sides of this issue bu...

I need refills for my mood stabilizer lamictal and can't afford to see my Dr. I have one prescription that involves me titrating my dosage up for a week and the refills are empty. Are doctors allowed to put refills on those so I can add my own in? I don't wanna get in trouble but I'm broke and bipolar. ## If you have a Costco nearby they have deep discounts on generics and I have gotten lamotrigine there. You don't have to be a member. ## No, you cannot add your own refills, that would be illegal and prescriptions are tracked and monitored by government agencies. Have you tried calling your doctor? They may be able to phone in a refill, until you can go in for an appointment. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including dry mouth, nause...

I've been living in Las Vegas for about 6 years after coming here from California. I have been on morphine for 15 years and now walgreens is giving me a hard time even though I fill them there every month. I read a great article online about walgreens, but what really blows me away is that we have vending machines with free needles and other supplies they need and I'm treated like a criminal. ## Hello, Christina! I am sorry that you are having problems. Can you post back and be more specific about the hassles they are giving you? If your doctor has written a new prescription each month and you have not had any issues to cause you to be flagged, there should not be an issue with them filling it, unless you are a new customer, or the dosages prescribed are not normal. Is it LEGAL for my DOCTOR to write 3 REFILLS on my NORCO 10 MG SCRIPTS? SIMPLE QUESTION... YES OR NO will suffice. Thank you, in advance, for your help. ## Yes it's legal. ## Actually, as of this month, refills on this medication are no longer permitted. The DEA has found that it is being more and more frequently abused, so the classification and regulations were changed regarding it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other questions or concerns?

Need to know if my combat surgeon can write 3 refills on Norco 10MG? It's intrusive to ask each month. Also, he is stone deaf. How will the pharmacy verify. He got rid of his phone. We text and email. ## Hello, CajunConnie! How are you? As of this time, no. The regulations were just tightened by the DEA, since this medication is so frequently abused. They've placed it in a more restrictive category, so patients can no longer have refills on it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. emergency came up, lost 2 viles of pills, Nuvigil and Lexapro,, Thank god not the KLONOPIN OR SUBOXONE. I have 5 refills on the Nuvigil. Last fill was March 13. Will they fill NUVIGIL EARLY? ## Hi Karemia, I'm sorry to hear that. There's no way I can accurately answer your question because what your pharmacy will fill and when, is based solely on the pharmacy's discretion as well as their policies for your specific medications. I suggest giving them a call! ## I recently lost a new bottle of nuvigal. My insurance Aetna, has a policy for lost and stolen drugs. After my dr's authorization I was able to refill the script the following day. I hope you have the same luck. ## Can unused prescriptions of expensive meds like nuvigil be given to others?
