If the predisone says take 4 tablets every morning X3days. Does it mean 3 times in the morning or once in the morning ## Hello, Rebecca! How are you? Just a little background I'm a 17 year old thats 131 pounds and a pretty nice down to earth guy. Two days ago I went to the doctor for ear pain, it turns out my ear was swollen and preventing drainage, I was prescribed prednisone (2 20mg tablets each morning, 5 days), along with amoxicillin (2 500mg tablets)and antibacterial ear drops. Which is safer Kenalog or Predsione? I have taken Kenalog shots for years but my doctor retired and my new doctor prescribed Predsione. Any reason? ## You may be able to compare the two drugs and their side effect profiles by vising the drug information pages for Kenalog and Prednisone. Hi, my teenage daughter has been taking 40mgs for a little over a month. The doctor is now tapering her off. We are currently at 25. In the process she has had pseudoseizures and passing out. Could this be caused from the prednisone??? She has had every diagnostic done so it's not epilepsy. She suffers from GI problems. She had a colonoscopy done in dec and had inflammation in her colon. My husband has been in the emergency room twice for an allergic reaction that caused his face and eyes to swell within the past week, so he is on prednisone, and steroid cream. He threw up this morning from side effects, and now his face and eyes are reddish purple. What can he do for this? ## Hello, Angela! How is your husband doing? MY HUSBAND HAS been taking predisone 5 mg my daughter in law has some prednisolone. usp 5 mg . . can he take them . what is diffeent in them ## They are both steroid class medications, but they are not quite the same and the required dosages are usually different. It is also never a good idea to take a medication that has been prescribed for someone else, not to mention the fact that it is illegal, under current FDA and DEA laws. The typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, fluid retention, insomnia, nervousness, and weight changes. I was given this med for thrush. I have been on predisone for emphesema and I developed thrush. I got a headache and dizziness. ## This is more than one medication, are you saying you were given all of these? The Nystatin is an antifungal medication, so it is appropriate for treating Thrush, since it's an oral yeast infection. The Diphenhydramine is sometimes given, if the yeast infection is causing dizziness, since is an antihistamine. However the other 2 are not normal treatments, so you would need to ask your doctor why they prescribed them. The Hydrocodone is a narcotic and that's probably what caused the headache and dizziness. And the Tetracycline is an antibiotic, these are not usually given, because they can cause, or worsen these types of infections.

I am on 10 mg of Methrotexate weekly and 10 mg of Predisone. I will go to 9mg of Predisone Jan 1st. My questions is if I miss taking a dose of Metrexate on Monday my usual day and take it on Thur. would it be ok to have wine on a vacation from Monday through Wed. ## Hello, Maggsg! How are you? The FDA strongly cautions against indulging in alcohol while taking any prescription medication. Alcohol tends to worsen the side effects, so could feel more dizziness, nausea and drowsiness than usual. Thus, one drink may affect you as if you'd had 2 and so on. However, if your doctor does clear it for you to do this and have a couple drinks, then please make sure you won't be driving or doing anything dangerous. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi, I'm 17 years old and I'm taking 1 tablet of Ferrous Sulfate once a day. But I'm also taking 1 1/2 tablets of Predisone twice a day and along with multiple other dosages of other medicines. Could this be the reason for the churning sick feeling in my stomach? ## I think it largely depends on what all the other medications are that you might be taking with it. Just about all prescription drugs can cause these types of side effects. Based on my research, Ferrous Sulfate does list "constipation" and "stomach upset" as side effects. It also mentions that you should tell your doctor if either of these symptoms are severe or do not go away. I was prescribed Cipro for Bronchitis in the hospital. I took only 4 doses 2 pills twice a day! I broke out with severe Hives and was given Benedryl, Predisone, Pepcid and nothing is helping! I have a case of the gout and this medican was prscbr: for me by my Dr. to treat my gout i have taken 4 pills 1 every 12 hr (2 pre day) it has not gotten better ## Predisone is a steroid class medication and while it can help with the inflammation that can occur from gout, it is unlikely that it will treat the underlying cause, which is excess uric acid, so is isn't likely to really help clear up the condition. I have only been on daliresp for 3 days, but I'm worried about the side effects. I'm a little anxious and depressed, wheezy, headache and back ache, but mostly I'm concerned about the insomnia. I had a moulder removed at the bottom left but that lead to further problems. The next dentist did an exray & found that I had roots left behind and an under growing tooth and infection and inflamation set in. Surgery was 2hrs cutting & drilling & stiches but after I removed the tooth I was tkg myprdol, pynstop, betapyne, amoxillin,, genpyn, nothing helped but after the sugery I am tkg dalacin.
