I noticed on my husbands list of pills that one of them are Potassium Chloride he says he can sub the Salt Pills for the Potassium Chloride is this true ? Diabetic- stage 4 kidney failure on 40 mg Lasix daily 80 meq Potassium Chloride ER daily. Seems like a lot of Potassium. Doctor won't talk to me about it just tells me to take it. ## The medication Lasix is used to help remove excess fluid from the body, but while doing so, it also tends to remove potassium, which is why such supplements are often prescribed along with it. 80meq is not really that high of a dose. It is very important to maintain a good potassium level as being either too high or too low can both cause dangerous health problems. My Doctor has changed me from potassium chloride 20MEQ SR MC to 2 potassium chloride ER 10MEQ ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? Are there any known side effects for this medicine? Also, for what purpose is it prescribed? ## The Diacerein in this is used to treat pain and inflammation from conditions such as arthritis. The other ingredients Potassium, MSM and Glucosamine are supplements that are believed to help with joint health and mobility. As to the side effects, I don't have any information on that, since the Diacerein is the only drug ingredient and it isn't approved and used in the U.S. The only one that I know having been reported from it is diarrhea.

There are a few possibilities to choose from with that prefix, such as Chloride or Chlorate. To put it simply, Potassium "Chloride" as a supplement shouldn't be used when chloride-levels are normal, or when chloride should be avoided (ie: kidney diseases). Large Yellow pill - oval No other info ## a large yellow pill shows MISSION on one side 610 on the other it is oval in shape. I think it is a potassium Chloride supplement but do not know anything more about it would like to know for sure ## Barb is correct, Mission Pharmacal lists it is containing 10mEqs of potassium.
