my ear [ right ] became plugged up from a real bad sinus infection and i can no longer hear at all out of it. Will Doxycycline help me. i am afraid i might go deaf if i dont get help quick. ## Doxycycline is a wide spectrum antibiotic that treats many skin, ear, and respiratory infections (including sinusitis). If this is something your doctor prescribed, I would definitely encourage you to give it a chance and see if you notice any progress over the duration that its been prescribed for. Unfortunately there's no real way to know for sure how well it will work for your ear until you actually try it. Are you certain that the loss in hearing was due to a sinus infection and not something else, like nerve damage? If you're not sure, it may be wise to clear that up with a proper dia...

my ear [ right ] became plugged up from a real bad sinus infection and i can no longer hear at all out of it. Will Doxycycline help me. i am afraid i might go deaf if i dont get help quick. ## Sorry to hear about your situation. Based on my research, Doxycycline can be used for a variety of bacterial infections (including sinus infections). Unfortunately there's no way of knowing ahead of time how well you'll end up responding to Doxycycline, without understanding your medical history, current health, lifestyle, and other individual factors that determine an antibiotics overall effectiveness. I can only assume that your doctor made the right decision by prescribing you something strong for an infection like this. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Doxycycline Det...

Hi, I started taking Jardiance in August and then in September I started noticing that my ears seem plugged. I am not diabetic but my doctor put me on it for cardiomyopathy. I’ve been to an ENT doctor and there is no reason for the plugged sensation that I have. So could it be the Jardiance? Has anyone else experienced this? I know it isn’t one of the side effects listed, but I’m at a loss as to what is wrong with my ears. ## I don't see anything listed by the FDA as to it being known to affect ears/hearing. The typical side effects usually include: nausea, dizziness, increased thirst, and increased urination. Ref: Jardiance Information Are you on any other medications?

I got hot wax spilled on me from one of those wax burners that you plug in and makes your house smell amazing. Well it has burned my skin pretty bad in a few different spots causing bleeding, scabing and greenish/yellow nasty odor discharge. I have been cleaning it with peroxide and putting triple antibiotic cream but have some leftover and a refill for more of these h49 pills. Will they help with the skin infection to get better and not worse? ## To be honest, while the antibiotic may help, it is really time to see your doctor. While I'm fairly certain an antibiotic may help, there's a chance that you don't have enough to full eradicate this infection. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarr...

Have lead poisoning from teen years. now in 50's, My ear seems plugged after the 10 days and a short trip to higher elevation. Dizzy and weak also. ## Hi noknee, How are you? Sorry to hear about your previous run in with lead poisoning. I had no idea lead remained in your system for such a long time. Although from what I understand, there are ways to detox it out with proper exercise and dieting (e.g - juicing fresh fruits/vegetables, taking activated charcoal, as well as various "heavy metal detox" supplements on the market). At the moment there don't appear to be any methods for determining if prescription antibiotics interact with lead specifically, so you may need to have your doctor evaluate the condition of your ear and see if it might even be the result of an alle...

I have been taking Lisinopril 40Mg daily for six months. Two months ago I began to have plugged nasel passage with no pain or pressure. The feeling I have is that my throat and nasel passage is extremely dry and it feels like I need to expel mucus from my nose, but there is none. I have been given two rounds of antibiotics, nasel spray and have tried every OTC decongestion and antihistamine, but none of these remedy my problem. Constantly trying to clear what feels like dried mucus and this does nothing but make my throat sore. Have also tried steam, nasel rinses and any home remedy to correct this. Now my ears feel plugged so I have had enough. Have any of you had this experience? Only dry caugh is when I am trying to clear my dry nasel passage. Not painful, but extremely irritating! #...

Have copd and shortness of breath. Dr called in this med for me. Have taken 3 pills and no improvement. Is that just too soon. I feel like I either have a mucus plug or exasperated. Not sure. Just need fast relief. ## Hello, Sandra! How are you feeling? To know if an antibiotic is working, you shouldn't see any worsening of your condition after taking it for 24 hours and improvement should start after being on it for 3 days, so yes, that's a little to soon to expect a change. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Learn more Amoxicillin details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How long can amoxicillin be left out of fridge and still be ok to take?it has never been put in the refrigerator.

Where can I purchase Daxophed-D? I can no longer get Drixoral & read that Daxophed-D has the same ingredients. I am desperate to find a replacement that works. My ears plug up and I get very dizzy so I am hoping this drug is the answer. I have tried many other antihistamines and none of them work. ## Where can I purchase DAXOPHED-D over the counter? I would like to try it since I can no longer get Drixoral and the ingredients are supposed to be the same. ## Where can I find Daxophed tablets for allergies, similar to Drixoral? Drixoral is no longer manufactured.

We are having difficulty using Twocal on a tiny lady with a small PEG. She has a G/J line with the food only going down the J side due to severe reflux. The J side plugs up from the thick nutrient. We have tried all the plug remedies but the viscosity still plugs. Can the Twocal be diluted to lessen the thickness and still provide her with the nutrient? What diliuent would he needed and how will that affect her feeeding ratio of 60ml/hr of food with 25ml of water for flush.

I just took my first dose (145 mcg) of Linzess this morning. Within 2 hours I had 2 normal bowel movements with no pain. After 5 hours, my head started feeling prickly and itchy, my ears plugged up and then my heart seemed to be slowing down to the point where I started to pass out. Now (7 hrs later) I am still feeling that way. Is there something I can take to counteract that and how long does Linzess stay in my body? ## Hi Linda, Sorry to hear about the symptoms you're experiencing on Linzess. I can't help but wonder though, if you've looked into any safer laxatives on the market that don't exhibit such strange side effects? (i.e. things like Epsom Salt, apple cider vinegar, etc). Concerning how long Linzess remains in the body, information I found online stated that i...

hi, just wanna make sure if, this medicament will, help my small ear infection i have because recently I had a sore throat and kind of flu and my sore throat is gone but now my nose is plug out with some mucus and i feel like my left ear is a lil plug too. I want so see if this "PENTREXYL" will help me? ## Hello, John! How are you? I'm sorry that you've been ill. Pentrexyl is listed as containing the antibiotic Ampicillin, which is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. However, you should consult your doctor, before taking it to be sure that you have an infection. If not, taking it could create the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria....

Every time I take my daily Genvoya (just started on it after switching from Atripla) about 3 months ago, I start to smell a strange scent. It doesn't smell bad, sort of sweet, sort of like plugging in one of those strong Airwick plug-ins... I know - sounds strange. I take the medicine with supper at night, and I get the smell all evening and during the night. But by the morning, the scent has pretty much disappeared, only to be completely gone by Noon. But then it starts all over again later in the day when i take the next dosage. Anyone else have this issue? I know it is minor, but just curious if this is common. My doctor doesn't have a clue, as usual on these types of symptoms.. ## That can be a side effect of most medications, they can mess with your sense of smell, and tast...

I'm very nervous about starting the liquid Miralax as in the past with a colonoscopy prep (which I know is a much larger amt) I get terribly nauseated. Any suggestions as to how to get the 17g down? I have to do this twice a day and I've heard just plain water is awful. I plan on plugging my nose. Also, does anyone else have low energy with constipation? Thank you SO much ## How are you doing, Gina? I hope everything is going well and you didn't end up nauseated. But the nausea can be a normal side effect of most of these laxative medications. in many cases it's due to the stimulation of the bowel that happens, there's some internal bloating and cramping that you may not always feel, but it can put some pressure on the stomach making you feel sick. You can learn more...

What pain med can I take while taking sulfamethoxazole? I wanted to take something for pain and all I have is naproxen. Can I take it while taking this medicine or an ibuprofen 800mg? ## The University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu) has a drug interaction tool you can use to plug in and check for interactions between various medications. I went ahead and looked up the combination of Naproxen + Sulfamethoxazole as well as Ibuprofen + Sulfamethoxazole and didn't find any warnings listed. While this does not necessarily mean that no interactions exist, I personally haven't come across any specific details stating otherwise. However, if in doubt, it's always a good idea to double check with your doctor first. If you happen to have any other types of pain medication in mind...

Been taking generic augmentin for 96 hours for a sinus infection. I must say that the pounding headaches behind the eyes are still present. I know h/a is a side effect of the drug and curious as to whether or not I've only swapped headaches. I'll give it another 24 yrs before I pull the plug and get some Keflex (my 1st choice). Thanks for listening. ## Yes, that can be a side effect of this antibiotic, according to FDA reports, as well as symptom of a sinus infection. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has there been any change? How are you feeling, now?

a really good drug for nerve pain is neourotin or gapabentin (same thing) i may be spelling wrong. but it does wonders. your welcome. ## I am starting to wonder what is wrong with me even more because Gabapintin 600mgs does nothing at all for my pain from a frostbitten foot compounded by electrical shock while standing in some water while plugging up a buffer from a 220 volt socket Plus for some reason doctors here in Indianapolis don't have a clue as how to treat my problem. I wonder why none of them offered me any of the first medication you talked about ## It did nothing for my nerve pain too. It also made me crazy with brain zaps. ## As with any medication, Neurontin (Gabapentin) does not work for everyone that tries it. We are all different, so what works well for one person mi...

I'm getting ready to fly and take Xanax prior to my flight. I don't want to have a coughing fit on the plane. Will taking Cheratussin AC along with the Xanax be a problem? ## Hi Karen, If you have a moment, I'd encourage you to check out the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool) for good measure, where you can plug in the name of each drug you are taking and it will search its database for possible contraindications. However based on my own investigation, there does appear to be a high potential for interaction between Cheratussin AC and Alprazolam, whereas it's generally not recommended that you take the two together due to a risk of increased respiratory depression. That said, it would probably be best to contact your prescribing docto...
