Weight gain with Diabetes and Hypothyroidism
I have been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes since the past month and a half. I am hypothyroid as well since 1994. I had managed to keep my weight under control but I have gained 6 kilos of weight. I was wondering what this weight gain is due to.I am very worried about this Please advise ## Either of these conditions can cause some weight gain, as well as the medications for Thyroid problems. Since I don't know the specifics of what medications you are taking and your medical history, these are only guesses, but they may explain it. It is also normal to gain weight, sometimes, as we age. Have you tried asking your doctor? ...

Zyprexa Withdrawal Pins and needles Tingling
Hi everybody. I am currently tapering off Zyprexa. Have been on it for five years at 5 mg daily. I have been experiencing tingling or pins and needles on my feet and hands that switch around sides and sometimes disapears. I wouldlike to know if anybody has felt this while going off this med. Thanks ## Hello, Jorge! How are you doing? Have things improved, yet? Those types of symptoms can happen when withdrawing from pretty much any psychiatrically active medication, including this one. You should make sure to let your doctor know about them and seek medical attention if they get severe or you feel that you are in danger. Are there any other questions or concerns? ...

Dilemma with 2 narcotic scripts from 2 doctors
Hi all. I have intractable pelvic RSD, peripheral neuropathy, lumbar facet spondylosis. I live in California and am about to have to change insurances at the end of this month. The new insurance has ridiculously high Rx prices. I go to a PM for all my pain meds, but my primary dr has in the past managed them for me. My question is if anyone knows if I get an Rx for the 60mg Oxycontin twice a day like usual from my PM and then my primary to write a script for 40mg 3 times a day and then I can go to 2 totally different pharmacies and fill one with my insurance and the other at another pharmacy and pay with cash, will that flag the DEA and cause my PM to get a notification of "Doctor shopping"? I am just trying to have enough meds to get me through an extra month until my husbands ... ...

I'm on blood thinners, and have developed an infection in my lower leg. Will the use of levofloxacin hamper my warfarin effectiveness? ## HI, Mark! Sorry about the infection. However, you should see your doctor for a different antibiotic. The Levofloxacin can actually increase the effectiveness of the Warfarin, which greatly increased your risk of bleeding. What is happening with the brand name Fioricet?
Cannot locate any pharmacy who has the brand name Fioricet. This past month, I have been using a generic brand manufactured by Qualitest. This medication has been awful; so bad that I believe it has caused my headaches to become more intense/frequent. I have located one pharmacy several miles from my home that does have the generic brand Fioricet manufactured by Watson. What is going on with the brand name of Fioricet? Has there been a recall or...? I take this medication on a daily basis (I have MS and suffer from severe/migraine headaches.) I understand that Watson Pharmaceuticals is now Actavis; however, why would they discontinue manufacturing the brand name of a medication? ## Hello, Rae! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. According to the inf... ...

experienced increased potassium with Multaq?
Atere 3 months of Multaq, I began to run dangerously high potassium levels, not low! Any other similar experiences? ## It doesn't appear to be a very common occurrence, but a search I did turned up reports from 13 other people that have experienced hyperkalemia while taking Multaq. What did your doctor advise you to do? ## I started multaq Jan 2013, and started having high potassium levels a month later. I'm still on multaq and still have high potassium levels. Hoping to be able to get off the multaq soon. Had a catheter ablation in August 2013. ...

Can I Take Hydroxychloroquinine With Warfrin
I was given Hydroxychloriquinine when I was on Warfrin are these drugs ok to take together ## Hi Redken, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Warfarin and Hydroxychloroquine. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. There are however a handful of interactions found between Warfarin and various foods. It's a wealth of information, so I hope you're able to discuss this with your doctor if need be: "Vitamin K may antagonize the hypoprothrombinemic effect of oral anticoagulants. Vitamin K is a cofactor in the synthesis of blood clotting factors that are inhibited by oral anticoagulants, thus intake of vitamin K through supplements or... ...

Stress and anxiety off the charts with Viibryd
Due to some mild anxiety and low level depression I was put on Viibryd two months ago to supplement the Wellbutrin 150mg I had been taking for a few years. I titrated up as scheduled from 10-20-40mg. Over the past six weeks my levels of stress and anxiety have climbed thru the roof, sleep has been awful, and sense of self-worth and usefulness has plummeted to levels I never felt before. Worst of all is a sense of depersonalization and complete loss of identity--it is very unsettling. I'm now down to 20mg and it's helping but as of today my doc has had me quit Viibryd altogether...substitute Zoloft whcih has worked for me in the past). Folks, I know that each of us have different reactions to various meds, but please watch for theses signs once you start on viibryd. ## Thanks for... ...

metamizol sodico with naproxen for back spasm
I am taking 500 mg. of naproxen, with 500 mg. of metamizol sodico and tylenol. I am worried about any drug interactions. this would be short term use for a bad back spasm. ## Oddly enough, I'm not finding any specific drug interaction details relating to Metamizole or its brand names. I'm assuming this may be a foreign medication, as that would explain why it's not listed in U.S. drug interaction checkers. However with regards to Naproxen and Tylenol, there are no drug interactions listed between the two. So I get the sense that you should be fine taking those together. Is your current doctor the one who prescribed Metamizole with the other two medications? If not, you may want to double check with him/her just to be on the safe side. I hope this helps! ...

Red And White Capsule With Brown Powder Inside
found in my teens room, since it was hidden I am supposing that it is something he didnt want discovered ## Are there any markings on it? If not, then it will be difficult to determine what it contains. We can rule it out as being a manufactured prescription product, since they are all required to have imprints to enable their identification. However, there are a few other possibilities, something done by a compounding pharmacy wouldn't have such imprints, over the counter products aren't required to have them and there is also a small chance that it could be a foreign medication. Have you tried asking them about it? ## it almost sounds like heroin. My brother was on it and they came in capsules that were clear on one end and red or yellow ect. on the other end. Found pill In My Precription Marked Watson 333
oblong and yellow seems though i have taken thi medicine but can't rember what it is ## Hi Rose, The only Watson imprint that fits your physical description of the pill is Watson "853", as opposed to "333"; so I'm assuming you may have simply misread the marking. Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone is a combination of two types of pain medicine to treat moderate to severe pain. For more information about this drug please refer to the link below... Can I take other pain killers with Melfen 400mg?
I have pulled something in my lower back right above my coccyx and across the length. I have Melfen 400mg however I was wondering if I can take other painkillers with this as I can only take one of these three times a day. Thank you. ## Hello, Lois! How are you? It really depends what other medications you're asking about, as well as your medical condition. Are there any specific ones that you want to ask about? Have you consulted your doctor? ## Hi Verwon. How are you. I was only really wondering about whether I could take Solpadiene (Paracetemol and Codeine) or just Paracetamol. I havent consulted my doctor yet as i am hoping it will be gone in a week or two and don't really want to have to pay 100s of euros just to see my doctor and get medication! Many thanks Lois ...

how much weight will i reduce with a 25mg dosage ?
My doctor has prescribed me to have a 25mg topamax dosage.i would want to know how weight would i lose if i have one tablet a day for about 15 days ## Hi, Priya! How are you? Unfortunately, there's really no set answer that anyone can give you. While Topamax can aid in weight loss and has recently been approved to be used for it, much of the rest really depends on the individual. For instance someone that only takes the medication, but doesn't follow a good, healthy diet plan and get plenty of exercise is not going to lose as much as another person that does those things. Other factors may also be involved, such as your metabolism, your overall health, any other medications you take and etc. What types of expectations did your doctor give you? ...
