I've been off Percocet 10mg since January 19th 2015 in which I went from taking 4 to 8 a day to taking none. I had taken Norco 10 from 1996 until May of 2010 and had done great on the Norco but ruptured a disk in my neck & had to go to something stronger until I was evaluated for surgery. I was not a candidate for surgery so I started neurontin to try to give it time to heal. It did heal but by that time I was stuck on the percocet. Back to present day my pain has started coming back so I want to get ahead of it but not back to the percocet. My question is since my system has detoxed from the percocet, will the norco 10 help with the pain? ## Hello, Anna! How are you? The only way to find out is to try it and see. Some people tend to keep their tolerance, even if they've bee...

I have been takin percocet 5-325 for 2 months as directed. Have not abused at all. I originally was taking for pain following a breast reduction. After that pain seemed to cease, I continued taking as I noticed the percocets helped with my chronic tendonitis in my thumbs. Anyway, I am down to 2 pills, will I go through withdrawal ? Again, only took as directed for 2 months, and sometimes not more that 4 pills a day. I'm leaving town tomorrow to take care of my Mom after she has major surgery. I'm worried now that I will have withdrawal symptoms and not be of any help to her!! ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? You may experience some minor withdrawal effects, such as nausea, dizziness, chills and diarrhea, but they shouldn't be severe and debilitating. Since you were also on them ...

I've been on Contrave about a mouth twice daily (when I remember to take them) I forgot I wasn't supposed to and took one Percocet pill a short time ago for bad tooth ache. What can I expect to experience for side effects. I'm quite panicked right now ## There is no reason to panic, if you didn't suffer any adverse effects while taking it, then you should be fine. The main issue is that the Naltrexone can neutralize the Oxycodone in the Percocet, while the Bupropion tends to increase its effectiveness. Thus, if the Percocet helped you, then there should be nothing to worry about. However, it would be best to inform your healthcare provider, just in case. The FDA classifies Percocet as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side ef...

Had total hip replacement 5 days ago. Percocet 10/325 only last 4 hrs before the pain starts to increase. I've tried to stick it out to at least 5+ hours, but it is too painful. Should I take a Lortab between doses to help me get to 5-6 hrs? Or should I just go ahead and take another percocet? (every 4 hr). ## Talk your dr. You may need something stronger short term. ## @DJ, Because these medications tend to affect each person differently, I believe only you can truly answer that question depending on how your body has responded to them in previous doses. However, over an extended period of time I'd probably be more concerned about acetaminophen toxicity than anything else. Maybe you can ask your doctor if s/he can prescribe something without acetaminophen in order to allow for ...

I'm on 4 mg suboxone daily. I ran out early this month so this morning I took one percocet ten. I keep reading how you need to wait to take suboxone so you don't withdrawal bad but what if I'm not addicted to nothing but the suboxone? Do I still need to wait if it was one perc or am I OK to take my sub only hours later? ## KrKris37, I'm not here to criticize your use of suboxone. If you were prescribed this potent medication by a skilled medical provider these questions would have been covered prior to induction of this misunderstood and very potent medication. That said, you should have No trouble with continuing your current dosing regimen. Once a Consistent level of bupe has been achieved lesser opiates or opioids will have little to no therapeutic value in attempting...

Nov. of 2016 I moved from Pa. to Tenn. out of family need. I am 60 yrs. old and had numerous lower back and cervical surgeries. In Pa. I received 180 percocet 10/325 per month. My pain spec. here in Tenn. will only prescribe 120 per. month saying by Tenn. law this is the max amount allowed per month. Can anyone tell me if this is fact? Thanks. ## Yes, it can vary from state to state. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. If it isn't controlling your pain, you may want to speak to your doctor about trying a different medication. Does anyone else have any advice to offer?

I have been taking norco for about ten years now and I now have a tolerance to it. For the norco to work for me I have to take more pills than what my doctor can prescribe. So I have run out of my Norco and my doctor prescribed me Percocet 7.5/325, but since I have never taken it before he said to only take 4 in 24 hours and see if it will work. Well, it is not working at all !!! I am going through withdrawals . I have emailed my doctor and tried to tell him this but I haven't heard back from him. I want to take more of the Percocet but I don't want to overdose. What can I do? ## There is a chart available, the link is you can see that Oxycodone in actually stronger than Hydrocodone. The problem could be either due to your having developed a high tolerance to opiates, or if you...

I'm seeing "none" and "never". But tell me the truth. With 2.5 mg Percocet every eight hours, is a glass of wine dangerous? Is it dangerous to drive? What about if I was taking it every 12 hours? I am almost ten weeks post op on a pretty major back surgery (fused two discs, I've got quite an apparatus back there). ## Yes, it is always risky, and they should not be combined. Alcohol and opiates both depress the central nervous system, that's why they can cause a high/buzzed feeling, as well as drowsiness, dizziness, and sedation, as side effects, and when you combine more than one of these substances, this can potentiate these side effects, making them much more severe than usual. Thus, you could end up dozing off inappropriately, blacking out, experience seve...

My pain Management Dr. prescribed Percocet (512 pill), 4 times daily, 6 wks ago for my Spinal Stenosis, Spondylolisthesis and Arthritis. I am finally experiencing some pain relief . My MRI doesn't warrant surgery at this time. My big fear is that I willI become addicted to these Percocet tablets? Can this happen? ## It really depends on you, there is a difference between addiction, and dependence. Addiction occurs when someone abuses a medication, because they like the side effects, such as feeling high, according to NIH definitions, but side effects tend to wear off, once your body gets used to a medication, so they have to keep taking more and more to get those feelings back. If they suddenly stop they can experience severe withdrawal symptoms, which could put their lives in dange...

Is a Tylenol 4, white round pill with 2065 v and 4 on other side, equal to a Percocet 10? Was just prescribed this from emergency room. But I have not taken it before. My doctor has me taking 4 Percocet 10's a day for back pain. Now have 2 healspurs and tendinitis and sprained ankle and in so much pain! Help please? ## Hello Marie! How are you? Codeine is actually weaker, so each one of the Tylenol 4 you take is only equivalent to about 6mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics. They carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Most ERs will not prescribe the more potent medications, such as Oxycodone, anymore. To get something stronger to help with more p...

How much stronger is the percocet than the norco? ## Hello, April! How are you? For each 10mgs of Hydrocodone in the Norco, you only need 6.67mgs of the Oxycodone in the Percocet. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I hav been on norco tens four a day for two years. i hav become addicted. can i take a percocet ten mg to help withdraw symptoms ## Yes, any opiate medication will help with withdrawel. ## I'm so sorry to hear. Its peach colored with only an L on it. Should be a ten percocet but not sure, help! ## Hello, Rose! How are you? No, this is actually an over the counter product that contains 81mgs of Aspirin, it's the low dose that many use for blood thinning and heart health. Are round blue pills with markings westward 787 similar to percocet? ## This tablet actually contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 50mgs of Butalbital and 40mgs of Caffeine, it is a generic for Fioricet, which is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. It does not contain any opioid ingredients like Percocet. Learn more Fioricet details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, stomach irritation and insomnia. Are there any comments or questions? Is there anything I can help with? ## This is not even CLOSE to a Percocet or Percodan. It's used for headaches or migraines and does not have opioid effects, but rather, it MAY sedate you. Sometimes your doctor may give you the ones with codeine but that's as far as that goes.

I take Percocet and Flexeril and was told by the doctor to wait a couple of hours before I take one or the other. What are the possible side effects, positive and negative? ## More than likely he advise to space them apart because they can both cause central nervous system depression. This can cause your breathing to slow and be shallower, a slower heart rate and etc. Using them both together can also worsen some other side effects, that they both can cause, such as drowsiness, dizziness and nausea. He is probably trying to minimize this for you. If you use them as he instructed you to, you may be able to get better pain control. Many doctors prescribe a muscle relaxant, like Flexeril, along with other pain management medications. Reducing the tenseness in the muscles can help lessen th...

Ive been on 10mg percocet for herniated and buldging discs in my lower back and neck, for about 8months now. I had always got watson pills up until 2 months ago, and these yellow ones do not seem to work as good. They tend to wear off alot faster, and dont seem to help as much when they do first kick in. Is there any different ingredients in the too manufactures' pills or a reason one companys would work better being as they are exactly the same mg? ## Hello, Josh! How are you? The first question I need to ask is what have you been taking? If you've been taking Percocet, then there should be 2 doses for you to list, since it contains Acetaminophen and Oxycodone. I can provide you with more accurate information, if I know for sure what we're talking about.

I'm living in columbus ms and few doctors got shut down and nobody wants to see me cause i was seeing one of the doctors. I was in a bad wreck in 99 got thrown out of bronco and they had to fly me to chatt tn. I have a mri. I was getting 120 percocet 10s every month and when he got shut down i was still getting 120 percocet 10s. now this other doctor im seeing is only writing me 90 lorcets 7.5 and that DOES NOT help. i have been seeing him for almost 2 years and i asked him if he can bump me up to tens or one more a day and he told me i was maxed out, but i know people that get 90 or 120 pain pills. i went today on my appointment and he wrote on the script not to be filled until the 6th. Pain care clinic just took a blood sample to check my levels to basically see if I have been taking my percocet. Learn more Percocet details here. Why aren't you taking them? ## I have been taken the percocet, just not as much as perscribed becouse I save some for the days when my pain is worse. I am losing sleep over this if they take my meds away, the quality of my life will go down the drain. ## I had ten percocet 10 mg prescribed. What ng level would you expect in a blood sam...

is generic 10/325 percucet just as strong as non generic ## Yes, if you were taking 10/325 non generics then the 10/325 generics are just as strong. Generally generics just use different non-active ingredients, and don't have the brand name. ## In response to what Kitty mentioned about generics and non generics being just as strong, this may be true when you compare 10/325 to 10/325, but in my experience certain inactive ingredients can hinder the bioavailability of the very active ingredients they are mixed with (i.e. not getting properly metabolized). This could theoretically result in one of the 10/325 tablets (usually tends to be the generic version) feeling more like a 7.5/325 or even a 5/325; which is what many patients have come on here complaining about in other related disc...
