Just prescribed Nucynta--multiple, severe lung issues & nervous
Hi there, New to this forum, and appreciate any replies/feedback. My PM doc (who has changed my meds each visit x3) Rx'ed Nucynta 50mg 3x day, a change from Percocet 10/325mg 3x day for BTP. Also switched to Oxycontin 10mg every 12 hours (from Opana ER) Stated he wished to "lighten any burden on my lungs" given my medical status: pulmonary nodules which are increasing in size, both lungs, biopsy next month; severe asthma, residual COPD S/P bilateral PE's 10 years ago. Using Symbicort inhaler. I am uncertain how Nucynta would lighten the burden on my lungs, given the warning about lung conditions/impairment, and specifically asthma--of course, respiratory depression can occur with many pain meds. I also have hypothyroidism & seizures, which are both listed in precauti... ...

4 years expired oxycodone?
I found it in y medicine cabinet and I would like to know if its still safe to take? I don't know much about medicine so I'll just write what the label says: OXYCODONE W/APAP 5/325 TAB MCK subsituted for percocet and the pill has a 512 stamped on it? ## If you are asking if it becomes dangerous as it ages, the answer is no. It does not, however, these medications will lose potency over time, so it may no longer work as well as it did when it was new and may have no efficacy left at all. Taking more, to try to relieve pain can be dangerous, since these also contain Acetaminophen and too much of that can be toxic, to the point of being fatal. The wisest idea is to properly dispose of them and see your doctor for a new prescription if you need help with pain. Do you have any other ... ...

Opana 40 Mg
I have been taking Opana er 40mg for over a year. My last refill was April 12, i was given a round pill with 40 on one side and E on the back. I am in constant pain! Any suggestions, I take 3 per day with 10/325 percocets 4x day. The pharmacy told the Dr. i must have been crushing my pills - i wasn't. I'm not crazy, these pills don't work. ## The Opana time released tablets were recently reformulated, with the intent to make them harder to abuse. Unfortunately, just as with the OxyContin reformulation, this has caused problems for some people, such as unusual side effects, or the medication not working as well as it used to. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Don't feel like you're crazy ! ! ! I'm upset with all the pain dr.Who have been giving his pat... ...

Percoset Before Surgery
Hello, I am having a lumbar puncture to measure CSF pressure in a week. I have been prescribed low-dose percoset (1/2 of 7.5/325 per day) to help with the pain and pressure until the lumbar puncture. I was told not to take any blood-thinning medications until the procedure. Can I still take the percoset? Or will it thin the blood as well? ## From what I could gather Percocet has two components; Oxycodone + Acetaminophen, and neither are blood thinners. So you should be fine taking it prior to your surgery. Learn More: Acetaminophen + Oxycodone Details If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you. ...

I usually take hydrocodone 7.5/325 and have for 2 1/2 years but am running low is it safe for me to take oxycodone 5/325 in its place. It would be the first time I have taken oxycodone so I was unsure of just how much stronger it is than the other. ## Need answers please. ## I will be having to take them in the next few days ## Hello! How are you? Well, the caveat I must give is not to switch what you're taking, without your doctor's approval. But yes, running it through the opiate dosage converter, 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone is equivalent to 5mgs of Oxycodone. Learn more Percocet details here. Wife received a new pill made by this company as a sub for her usual oxycodon-acetaminophen 7.5-325, white football shaped small pill with the ID U16 on one side and the other blank, The pills seem to have no real relief of pain compared to the other made by Mylan, they are either much weaker or out right rip offs, have contacted RiteAid who just started using these things to see what they say. If it is going to be this way, she will have to change to the more expensive regular Percocet, cost more, but always work. What are the drug manufacturers up to now they increase prices but lower quality and pain relief. They are screwing with the wrong people, people in real pain need relief and do not and will not tolerate silly crap from anyone. Everyone can be tracked down using the internet ... ...

Vicodone Replacement
Does anyone know what a good replacement for vicodone since they took it off the market? My dr. put me on norco 7.5-325. These are a joke. I have to take 2-3 tabs when I was taking 1 tab.I am really screwed since I am allergic to codene, morphene, and most things that get me out of pain. I am on fentenal patch, but this replacement doesn;t make any sence. If I have to take 3 times the dosage I'm taking 3 times the acetaminophen. I was on percocet but now my insurance charges 3x the amount it used to cost, so thats not affordable. Any suggestions? And no, those aren't normal side effects of narcotic use, normally they would cause nausea, dizziness and drowsiness, because they depress the body and the central nervous system. However, what may be causing the problem are withdrawals, if he's abusing it and then running out. The withdrawal symptoms can cause the problems you described, as well as vomiting, fever and chills.
