I have an abscessed tooth and got an antibiotic from a feed store called Fish Pen (penicillin) 250MG. The vet said it would be fine to take it. It's an oval pill with the number 520 on it. My daughter has prescription Penicillin 500mg for every 6 hours after wisdom teeth removal. How many times/day does she to take? Are the intervals for awake times only or for 24 hrs? ## Hi Cindy! If your daughter is prescribed to take every 6 hours, she needs to take 4 pills a day. Sometimes, you need to wake up during the night to take them. Or, maybe try 6:00am, 12:00 noon, 6:00pm and midnight. That might work. ## Thank you Cats68 for your reply.

I have taken amoxicilina many times during my life; bought in the US and in Honduras. This last week I got a bottle of 60 capsulas while in Cozumel, to complete my antibiotic treatment (I lost the previous amoxi I was taking). I am very familiar with the smell and taste of amoxicilina and penicillin. I open the capsules when I take it, it tastes bad, and has a unique taste & smell (also in urine). The current bottle I just purchased, red & white capsulas, is a white powder with NO taste nor smell. Furthermore, it appears to have no affect on my sinusitis, and NO odor in urine. This is the first Amoxi I have ever taken that is like this (no taste & no odor. So common sense tells me I HAVE BEEN ROBBED. If this is COUNTERFEIT Amoxi, we need to STOP ITS SALE. I have a throat infection... feels like strep. I have a box of 3, 500mg brand Charyn Azitromicina... i also have a bottle of Zertalin brand azitromicina 500mg (5 pills) They are both azitromicina, just different brands and different qty's. When should use a 3 pack vs a 5 pack? ## Hi Blake, In general, most antibiotics are taken for a course of 7-10 days. I've had a similar upper respiratory infection before and was prescribed penicillin 500mg to take 2-3 times a day for a week or until the script was all used up. So I guess when it comes to a 3 pack vs a 5 pack, maybe what matters is simply having enough to get through a full week? Have you discussed any of this with your prescribing doctor yet? Hope you are feeling better!
