I have an abscessed tooth and got an antibiotic from a feed store called Fish Pen (penicillin) 250MG. The vet said it would be fine to take it. It's an oval pill with the number 520 on it. My daughter has prescription Penicillin 500mg for every 6 hours after wisdom teeth removal. How many times/day does she to take? Are the intervals for awake times only or for 24 hrs? ## Hi Cindy! If your daughter is prescribed to take every 6 hours, she needs to take 4 pills a day. Sometimes, you need to wake up during the night to take them. Directions say 2 tablets by mouth immediately then 1 tablet once a day for 10 days..why would they give me 40 pills if I only need to take for 10 days... ## Are you sure it's only once a day? I have taken amoxicilina many times during my life; bought in the US and in Honduras. This last week I got a bottle of 60 capsulas while in Cozumel, to complete my antibiotic treatment (I lost the previous amoxi I was taking). I am very familiar with the smell and taste of amoxicilina and penicillin. I open the capsules when I take it, it tastes bad, and has a unique taste & smell (also in urine). I have a throat infection... feels like strep. I have a box of 3, 500mg brand Charyn Azitromicina... i also have a bottle of Zertalin brand azitromicina 500mg (5 pills) They are both azitromicina, just different brands and different qty's. I've had a similar upper respiratory infection before and was prescribed penicillin 500mg to take 2-3 times a day for a week or until the script was all used up. So I guess when it comes to a 3 pack vs a 5 pack, maybe what matters is simply having enough to get through a full week? Have you discussed any of this with your prescribing doctor yet? I have a ruptured ear drum and severe infection in ear. I have been prescribed tenkorex 250mg 3 times a day (I am allergic to penicillin and amoxicillin) I have been taking them for 4 days and am still feeling ill and don't seem to be getting better.
