Are there any doctors in or near the Columbus, Georgia area that prescribe Methadone & Oxycodone for pain management from injuries and surgery from auto accident over 6 years ago? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. If you require such medications on a long-term ongoing basis, due to the regulations that were put in place last year, you'll need to see a pain management specialist. However, I cannot speak as to whether or not they will necessarily prescribe these or any medications, since that is entirely up to the doctor. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? ...

My insurance allows to change doctors as often as needed, no pcp needed, also need good pain management doctor, currently have one in a hospital, do they charge alot more than one who has their own office. I was charged $2600 for an epidural, where other places charge 200/300. I lorain, ohio area. Is this correct. Shes really a rehabilitation specialist? please help ## Hello, Dave! How are you? There is no set amount that they may or may not charge. Fees are going to depend on the doctor, their years of experience, the treatments proffered and etc. Do you have a PCP? If you do and can have them refer you to someone, that may be the easiest way to find a good pm specialist in your area. Does anyone else know of any good doctors in that area?

I moved from TN to Utah and I'm having problems finding a doctor who is taking on new patients. I have been on 60 100mg morphine 2x a day and 120 20mg oxycodone 4x a day since 2009 after breaking my back in several places. Can anyone offer any advice? Even with being on disability supporting MRIs, X-rays, etc they still want to do another surgery. Unless something new comes out I'm not willing to try surgery again. I just want to stay on what worked and not have them say physical therapy or acupuncture will fix everything because it won't. Any suggestions? ## Live in Spanish Fork my doctor retired I need to find a doctor that will help me with pain medication. I've had 2 back surgeries and severe nerve damage

I just moved from NYC to the Florida panhandled. I am having a difficult time finding a pain management doctor who will continue the meds I have been on for a broken back, failed spinal fusion. I take oxycondone and soma. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. My other choice is to fly back to NY. Many thanks ## You will probably need to fly back to New York for now. However after a reasonable amount of time your out of state providers might cut you off and tell you to find a Doctor in your area ## I know this is older but just in case you're still looking...Dr. David Norfleet in crestview. They take insurance. He has no bedside manner and honestly I don't like him BUT after the first visit you see the NP and she is WONDERFUL! Very caring! The office staff is beyond rude....

Anyone going to a good pain doctor in Memphis that is taking new patients. I am on disability and my wife and I both have r.a. The Dr. we have been seeing for over 10 years has cut our pain meds. If we need something stronger he said find a pain management Dr. He now wants to cut out our pain meds all together. Help please this is such a painful and depressing desease. ## I'm sorry that you're having such problems. New regulations have been put in place at the start of the year that are discouraging general practitioners and surgeons from prescribing pain medications for long-term use, due to the risk of improper prescribing and over prescribing, since they haven't been specially trained at managing pain. Did you try asking him for a referral? That often makes it easier to g...

I am looking into changing pain management doctors. I've been on pain management over 8 yrs. My original one stopped doing pain mgmt last year & it took forever to find one to take my case. Now, i'm starting to question him & would like to know if anyone has any recommendations. I'm taking 40MG of OXYCODONE a day & 100MCG Fentanyl patch, plus Methocarbamol. Those are the "main" ones. Any help would be really appreciated! ## Pow dr dropped me over a U/A for alcohol. I'm so tired of the war over meds or medical marijuana. I just got rocked by my dr. I need a pain management doctor in the northern virginia or central virginia area that accepts medicaid and isn't scared to prescribe the necessary medications for chronic pain. ## I'm sorry, but there are no listings of doctors according to what insurance they accept, or what they will or will not prescribe that I can refer to for you. All doctors have to be very careful about what they prescribe, due to severe government regulations. If they don't, they could lose their license to practice medicine and most doctors have far too much time and money invested in their careers to be willing to do that. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly that could refer you to someone? If so, that would most likely be the easiest way to get the help you need.

I am searching for a good pain management doctor in Louisiana. The only pain medication I can tolerate is Methadone. ## You will need a copy of your medical records from your previous dr. There is no guarantee that another dr will prescribe you Methadone. When someone asks for a specific drug, it is a red flag or drug seekers. So it might be best to get an appointment and see a dr and take your medical records. You might have to see them for a few months before you will know if they will prescribe you Methadone. ## I have been in chronic pain for more than 17 yrs. since 2000. For people in TRUE NEED of pain meds it is very difficult to find help! And they wonder why people have to find them on the street?! I would never go that route bit i can understand ## HI Kimberly, Unfortunately, no one can really know ahead of time what a doctor is or is not willing to prescribe, as that is based on the doctor's discretion and not on someone else's previous appointment (especially since many doctor's are now worried about losing their licensing for prescribing too many narcotics). Some advice I can give you is to not specifically ask for any 'specific medication' when you see a new doctor. Just make sure to...

Is there a good pain management doctor in Olympia, WA that will prescribe pills? ## Hello, Earnest! How are you? There are plenty of great pain management specialists in WA, but I can't say whether or not they will prescribe you anything. It depends on your condition, health, medical history and etc. Do you currently have a PCP that you see regularly that could refer you to someone? If so, that might be the quickest and easiest way of finding the help you need. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area? Due to the new regulations that were put in place, doctors have to be careful about prescribing such medications and usually prefer to do so only as a last resort, after other options have failed. ## An 85 yr old lady in the Perth area of WA has pain in the knee and is looking fo...
