Round, Thick, Blue pill with capital 'S' on both sides. ## Sounds like a 25 mg Sominex, which is a light blue with a large S on each side of it. ## I need the company name that makes 40mg oxycontin but NOT PERDU PHARMA CAUSE THEY SUCKS ## At this time, there are no generic version of Oxycontin available. The only time released formulation approved in the U.S. is the original name brand manufactured by Purdue Pharma. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. And there is no generic with an S on both sides. Badback, what types of problems did you have with the name brand?

@BBB,,why do some posts require being held & others dont? Anyways yes they are new Generic Oxycontins not neo's. If you go to Apotex Canada & look at document posted 22 hrs ago you will see all the new drugs now out by Apotex..all of the old ones are being produced. They still aren't covered as yet but cant see that sticking either... ## I already knew that. I thought you were saying that you had gotten CDN's lol but the site will sometimes need reviewing by a moderator to make sure that you're not posting something stupid. ## That is correct, there are a few things that may flag a post, so it doesn't get immediately posted. No one is saying that you intentionally posted anything untoward, but the site is family friendly, so sometimes even a typo can cause a ...

Round pill, peach in color, kind of thick ## Watson Oxycodone 20 mg helped me- these pills that are thicker and labeeled one side only G162- suck! I am not sure if they are 20mg or 40mg but to be honest it feels like NO Milligrams whatsoever! We all have to go back to PERDUE Oxycontin anyhow they are not making generics of this anymore! ## G 162 IS NOT 40mgs! This is a 20mg Oxycodone tablet. By the way, yes, they still are making generics of it. If you want the name brand then ask your doctor to write brand medically necessary on your prescription. There IS a different between name brands and generics, so sometimes they just don't work as well. ## Wow man, It's sad to see how many people are addicted to pain meds. Listening to how your talking about it. Was watching the news 3 d...

I was taken off of Dilaudid 2Mg every 3 hrs to oxycontin 5 Mg every 6 hrs. I was in pain and I never experienced withdrawals, but I did this time. I called the Dr. right away. The Phar. gave my wonderful PM alot of crap, but I finally got back.on the Dilaudid in two days. ## Hello, Linda! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the problem that you had. That wasn't a proper conversion, it would take 5.33mgs of Oxycodone to be equivalent to each 2mgs of the Dilaudid you were taking. Thus, you'd need 40mgs of spread throughout the day to provide the same analgesic effect and prevent withdrawals. I'm glad you were able to get back on the one that works for you. The FDA lists these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they have the potential to be habit forming and may ca...

been on oxycontin for 4 years and is not working as well since they switched formula ## We have had a lot of people posting similar complaints. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Oxycodone. If you were taking 40mgs of Oxycontin, you would only need 20mgs of the Opana. The side effect profile is similar: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Are there any questions or comments? ## I have been disabled for many years and been on Oxycontin for a very long time. It was the only thing. That got my like some what back. Ok. been on oxycontin for 4 years and is not working as well since they switched formula ## There have been many complaints about this. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Oxycodone, requiring just half the dose. So, if you were taking 80mgs of Oxycontin, you would need just 40mgs of Opana. Since it is a narcotic, the side effect profile is basically the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. I'm switching to 3 40mgs a day of Opana ER and hoping it does better than 80mg of OxyContin twice a day. Any advice or info please ## Hello, Timps! How are you? Opana is actually twice as strong as Oxycontin, so you'd only need 80mgs of it daily to equal the 160mgs of Oxycontin that you were taking, thus, taking 120mgs a day will actually be a stronger dose and may provide better pain relief. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I went from OxyContin to opana as well and great as I thought OxyContin were, opana surprisingly not only lowered my pain level but kept me even...

I am facing major surgery in four weeks time and I am fearful that the same will happen as in a similar operation last year. Cold turkey during recovery and no one would listen. I want to die. If they give me more morphine. Would that work. ## Yes, it could work, but only if they give you an equivalent dosage. Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine, so you would require a higher amount of the Morphine to equal what you currently take. Thus, if you are on 40mgs of Oxycodone, to prevent withdrawals and handle your pain accordingly, you'd need 60mgs of the Morphine. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It helps a lot as I dreaded that the same experience might again. I will ask for a plan that must include the correct dosage of morphine e.g. 60mg. Are you speaking from personal expe...

I found a pill with M in a box on one side and 595 on the other side. I found it in my sister's room and she used to do Oxycontins and quit, as far as I know. Could this be a generic 40mg Oxycontin? It looks exactly like it but has different numbers. I appreciate any help, thank you. ## To prevent future confusion, I have removed the incorrect post. This tablet contains 40mgs of Oxycodone CR, a generic for Oxycontin. This is a narcotic pain reliever. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. ## Hello Brad If you were worried about your 'sisters' Oxycontin use, it is best to ask your sister directly if she is still taking them, & if her doctor is aware? Take good care, and remember that Oxycontin medication use can be ve...

Can anyone tell me if Xtampza works the same as oxycontin, and strength comparisons of mg between the two? If I take 60mg of oxycontin what would be equivalent for the Xtampza? I plan on switching for financial reasons but of cannot get same relief then idk. Thank you for help ## Hello, Lynx! How are you? Xtampza is actually a little stronger than Oxycontin, for example if you were taking 40mgs of Oxycontin, you'd only need to take 36mgs of the Xtampza. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, if you are looking for a cheaper option, this isn't likely going to help, since Xtampza is very new and new medications ten...

The above medicine was recently changed from OxyContin 40mg CR to Morphine Sul Tab 30 MG ER due to Insurance not covering the OxyContin. when I went for a refill after hospital discharge medication ran out! The Morphine Sul Tab is not even coming close to relieving the pain from surgery. Is there a similar medication that is close to OxyContin that will control the pain!! ## Hello, Sandy! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. No, they have you on too low of a dose of the Morphine. Oxycontin is one and a half times stronger, so you'd need 60mgs of Morphine for each 40mgs of Oxycontin that you were taking. The FDA classifies these medications as being narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzi...
