Trying to go down on being pill dependent. I stop cold turkey went 9 day's the 1st time I tried. It wasn't pretty my hold body was in shock. 2nd time trying to go without now, just take half my pill instead 2 times a day it's working but body is not happy and seem like my blood is on fire, bad headache, sweats, stomach hurts in different parts. Now my side hurt on left back side lower side. I kw this crappie hurts but Dr said I will have to take rest of my life. I not going to be pill dependent anymore. So I've been on 10mg 5 times a day. i usually take 1 blue 30mg oxycodone pill but right now, i have 6 5mg oxycodone pills-is it ok to take all 6 at once if im use to taking 1 30mg oxycodone pill? ## Good question,.....on one hand I would say ther shouldn't be any problem taking six 5mg tables. However, when combined and taken together this may seem like an increase to your body. I was on tylox 5/500 4 times per day for years due to a motorcycle accident with a scorpion back break. I have had 2 surgeries and now lots of scar tissue and severe arthritis in my lower back with severe chronic pain. When they removed tylox with acetaminophen my dr. prescribed percocet 5/325 in jan 2014. Since that time i itched like crazy. Dr. sent me to dermatologist who sent a report that it was lasix coming out of my body but dr. said that was not what was causing itching, but never told me what was causing it. Since this particular tablet is scored, I would personally feel safe doing so. Regarding your concerns about doing normal activities afterwards, there's really no way to know ahead of time how this medication is going to effect you (since it really can effect each person differently). Both can also cause depression of the central nervous system, which could cause lowered blood pressure, lowered heart rate and shallow breathing. Thus, no it is not advisable, even though it's been 4 hours, since it takes awhile longer for the Oxycodone to clear from your body. As a general rule, for your own health and safety, it really is best to avoid mixing alcohol with prescription medications. Hello, I am a long time user of oxycodone . Have been prescribed pain mess for around 8 years. I am 35 years old and lead a fairly active lifestyle . I've had many surgeries in which I suffer from serious constant pain. I've tried many ways of coping with the pain but the only thing that really works and enables me to function semi normally is oxycodone. Right now I'm using 30mg Oxys. Prescribed 180 a month, but always come up short as I need more than what's prescribed to my high tolerance . I took about 105mg of oxycodone for 9 days after being taken off another opiate for a disease causing severe pain. How long will it take to completely leave my body so I will be clean and able to go back on my original meds? After reading here I'm very concerned and won't ever do that type of thing again. For instance, conventional oxycodone has a peak plasma concentration in your blood stream of about 1 hour after taking it, whereas the time-released version would reach its peak after about 3 hours. Half life can be up to about 4 hours, and traces of it remain in your body for up to 72 hours (but by that time you would probably have taken your next dose if you are on a regular pain management schedule). What is the difference between roxicodone and oxycodone ? ## From what I understand, Roxicodone and Oxycodone are both the exact same medication. The only difference you might find would probably be in the list of inactive ingredients (binders/fillers) that different manufacturers use in their tablets. I think the real confusion sets in when people start discussing Percocet (which is sometimes partially labeled as Oxycodone). However, it also contains Acetaminophen; the differentiating factor between those two meds.
