This sounds weird, but I think oxybutynin 5 mg tablets are passing through my body without being dissolved. I receive my prescriptions from Express Scripts, by mail. Has anybody else ever mentioned this happening? I am a prostate cancer survivor and the pills were prescribed for incontinence. I have noticed more leakage lately, and observed the small white pills in my stool on two occasions. ## I also take oxybutynin have noticed the pill is in my stool...I don't know if it doesn't get dissolved...but I can actually read the numbers on it in my stool ## Hello, Bob and Carol! How are you? What you're both seeing in your stool is just the outer shell of the pill, but the medication is released. It's one method of controlling the release of a medication, so it is dispersed ...

If a person is taking oxybyutinin and oxycodone could this lead to the situation where the patient finds it impossible to urinate since both medications have the same side effect of difficult urination. ## Hello, Brian! How are you? Yes, it certainly could, it can also be a side effect of each of them, when taken independently. The FDA lists other possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, blurred vision and constipation. If a person is unable to urinate, they should seek medical attention immediately. Is there anything else I can help with?

Hello, I just found a bottle oxybutynin 5MG twice a day, that was perscribbed 5 months ago it says don't use with meloxicam which is probably why I stopped taking it. Ive been running to the bathroom like every 20min. But I also experience pain in my joints and various body parts on daily basis. What can I use in terms of pain relief? Is there something else I can use for over active bladder or incontinence? Thanks for you knowledge and information I can't always reach my doctor, but I have an appointment and I hope to have something to discuss

Due to my spinal cord injury and paraplegia I use digital stimulation for my bowel program and therefor have the opportunity to feel some of the fecal matter as it comes through my colon. On at least 4 occasions I have found the Oxybutynin 15mg Extended Release tablets entirely intact. As an experiment I placed a tablet in a glass of water for 24 hours and after that time found the tablet intact except for the light coating that dissolved. The remains of the tablet had an almost rubber like coating. The tablet could be cut with a knife and the interior contained a white powder. It seems like the tablets are not dissolving. I have had to increase my dose to two tablets a day instead of one. In the past I was taking 5mg of Oxybutynin 3Xday. What is the mechanism for dissolving the tablets...

I was taking oxybutynin 5mg three times a day for about 2 months. I've had surgery and don't need it anymore Now I'm nauseated no energy. Basically feel horrible. Am I going thru withdrawal? I'm also having pain in my vaginal area the pain is like a soreness. ## Hello, Cindi! Sorry that you're so miserable. Have things improve, at all? Yes, withdrawal effects can happen with any medication that you've been on for a long period of time, even when it's something innocuous that you didn't abuse. Learn more Oxybutynin details here. It could also be some after effects of the surgery, or a combination of both. I'm not sure if the vaginal pain is related, or not. Have you consulted your doctor? That would be the best thing to do, just to make sure that there...

does the oxy in oxybutynin relate in any way to the oxy in oxycodone? I have a strange side efftect w/oxycodone and do not want to take oxybutynin if an ingredient or processing compound is similar ## Hi jr, From what I could gather, the medical prefix "oxy" simply indicates the presence of oxygen in a compound: oxyacanthine, oxycamphor, oxyquinoline, oxycodone, etc... That seems to be the only relation to all drugs that start with "oxy". If you only had a negative reaction to oxycodone and that's it, then I wouldn't assume that all "oxy" drugs provoke the same feelings or side effects you experienced; mostly because "oxy" is not the only compound found in oxy"codone". It could just be the synthetic opiate that causes you to react a certai...

I have been taking Oxybutynin hydrochloride 2.5mg per day for about 4 to 5 months and for the past few weeks I've been having trouble with my eyes and having bad headaches. Could these be side effects just starting now? ## Yes, those are possible side effects of this medication, according to NIH reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, and urinary retention. Are you on any other medications? How severe have the side effects been? ## I've been taking oxybutynin for a few years now I used to leak frequently and then it stopped and now I'm leaking always and it's very irritating what must I do or what's going on why is the oxybutynin not working anymore

I am currently taking 5mg of oxybutynin to help control excessive sweating. Would it be ok to take one 5mg percocet or would the interaction be bad? ## Have you consulted your doctor? Combining the Oxycodone in the Percocet with the Oxybutynin can have additive effects that may result in conditions such as severe constipation or paralytic ileus. Therefore, combining them isn't advisable, unless your doctor has instructed you that it's okay for you to do so and is monitoring your medical condition on a regular basis. ## pt has pneumonia taking doxycycl hyc,warferin-okay to take percocet for pain

Oxycontin 5mg. Verses oxybutynin5 mg.IS THIS THE SAME DRUG? ## Hi, Tammy! No, they aren't related and aren't used to treat the same things, at all. Oxycontin is a time released formulation of the narcotic analgesic Oxycodone, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, drowsiness and constipation. Learn more Oxycontin details here. However, Oxybutynin is an anticholinergic that's used to treat frequent urination and urinary incontinence. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, blurred vision and difficulty urinating. Learn more Oxybutynin details here. So, as you can see they are two very different medications. My Granddaughter believes this pill will help with entire body perspirations ## The pill in question is identified as Oxybutynin (5mg), from Canada. And judging from the indications of the drug, I get the sense that it's the wrong type of medication for "perspiration/sweating", unless this condition is linked to an 'overactive bladder or frequent urination': "Oxybutynin belongs to the family of medications called anticholinergics. It is also an antispasmodic. Oxybutynin is used to relieve symptoms associated with an overactive bladder, such as urinary urgency (a need to urinate right away), urinary frequency, leakage, or urge incontinence (leaking or wetting caused by an unstoppable urge to urinate).
