Can ms contin 100mg be taken with opana er 20mg? ## Well MS Contin contains the active ingredient Morphine. Opana ER contains Oxymorphone. The Oxymorphine is much more powerful and only requires a fraction of the dose that was being taken of the Morphine. Both are time released. They also share the same side effect profiles: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Read more: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I was on Opana about 8 years ago but it was at a time that I was still working. After a few days of taking it I started to get dizzy, sleepy and my computer monitor appeared wavy. I couldn't work like that so I asked to have my old meds back. I wish I had never done that cuz now I'm permanently disabled and cannot seem to get my doc to put me back on Opa... ...

Opana Oxycodone
2 Replies RSS
I have been taking oxycodone 10-325 for 8 years with no problem and my pain was managed well. But I had to change Pain Management docs and the new doc has Added (not replaced) Opana 7.5 ER to my monthly script. Thoughts on this? ## It is a normal practice to try to help someone get better pain control by adding a time released medication, such as the Opana ER, while using the regular released one for breakthrough pain. Have you tried taking it, yet? The FDA warns that narcotic analgesics carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. ## It is correct that two types of painkillers by working together yet working differently Does help with the pain better. I take 2x a day MS Contin ER 100mg, one in morning... ...

Opana Endo recall
33 Replies RSS
So I heard on the news yesterday that the FDA WANTS to stop production of Endo's Opana. Now my question is are they also gonna make IMPAX/Global to stop production on their generic oxymorphone too? Or is this aimed directly at Endo? I have a script right now that I can't fill for another 2 and a half weeks. What's gonna happen when I bring it in to get filled? It's written as oxymorphone ER NOT OPANA is that gonna matter or am I screwed? Plus on a side note if I would have to get it changed (my script). Would it be too much to ask my Doc to write for 100mg MS Contin or is that too big of a jump from the oxymorphone 30mg ER that I've been getting for a year now? I only ask that because every other milligram of MS CONTIN does not work for me. Only the 100's do anyt... ...

Kadian 100 mg 2 times a day vs. 20 mg opana 3 times a day.
2 Replies RSS
I was on 100 mg of Kadian twice a day for 7 years and got switched to 20 mg of Opana three times of day. Also, I was on 15 mg of Morphine 4 times a day and was switched to 4 mg of dialudid 4 times a day. I want to know if these dosages are equal to my old medicine dosages. ## I don't believe these are equivalent dosages, more over because Morphine is the active ingredient in Kadian. In which case you had taken 100mg twice a day (200mg/day) and later dropped down to 15mg four times a day (60mg/day). That's a pretty significant difference in and of itself, not taking into consideration the Opana or Dilaudid fixtures. As far as Opana (Oxymorphone) and Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) goes, these are two different drugs with different levels of potency/pain relief, so cross-comparing the tw... ...

Now I've switched to Oxycodone 80mg, q12 healing with 10/325 percocet 6x a day. THE OXY is NOT HOLDING Me-- in 5 Hrs I'm in Pain - 6 bad pain- by 8hrs I am crying. I have many chronic pain issues. HELP!! What WILL HELP so I can function and possibly return to work? ## Hello, Lilly! How are you doing? I am very sorry that you're in so much pain. Unfortunately, not every medication works for everyone that tries it. Have you ever used Fentanyl, yet? It is the most potent opiate available, so it may help you. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## Talk to your dt about you trying oxymorphone(opana) it's stronger than percocet Momma ## And why does he have y... ...

What is the best replacement for oxycontin. High dose long time user for chronic pain. It seems like nothing else works as well.

I was on the Oxycontin 80mg 3x a day for 16 yrs. I have been tried on alot of other things . I went on methadone w/ 2 40mg of oxy then they quit making the methadone that iI took. None of the kadian or other things in that class have worked. I am now taking ms contin 100mg. a day w/15 mg. 2x a day it is not enough and my Dr. who gave me a hard time off and on about the oxy's now refuses to do the irs that are still available with any other meds. I've took the opana and at the time it seemed fine but pricey that has been a couple of years ago just to see. They have a cap I did not take the er's though. My Dr. is funny about writing large numbers of meds. This ms contin could work but he will not for instance give 60 more mgs. He would rater write 200mgs.3x a day because of am... ...

Hydrocodone Acetaminophen 5 500
3 Replies RSS
Finally, I have found something that relieves my terrible cluster headaches. I have had them for over a year, been on verapimil (which did not work), and suffer horribly. This medicine is a miracle. ## I'm glad that you finally found something that works for you. Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen, the active ingredients in Vicodin is a narcotic pain medication, so it may be habit forming. Thus, you should be careful to only use it as your doctor directs. Learn more Vicodin details here. Are you taking it regularly to prevent, or just on an as needed basis? ## Thank You, Verwon, for responding to my post! You're and angel!
