dry out cook ## Oxycontin OP can also not be dried out, due to the very nature of what is used in it to prevent abuse. If someone does this with any narcotic, they also run the risk of overdose, which could be fatal. Side effects remain the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Are there any questions?

How many Tylenol 3's equal op80 mg? ## Hello, Becka! How are you? It would take 800mgs of Codeine to equal each 80mg dose of Oxycontin, thus you couldn't possibly safely take enough of them, because that would be approximately 27 pills and that would result in an overdose, especially with the Acetaminophen in the Tylenol 3. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks Verwon. You helped a lot.

Has anybody tried Opana vs OC 80? Any feedback would be helpful. ## What dosage of the Opana? The Oxymorphone in it is actually twice as strong as the Oxycodone, so if you were taking 40mgs of it, then the equivalent dose of Oxycodone would be 80mgs. Both can be effective at controlling pain, it just requires a dosage adjustment. You should also know that there are no more Oxycontin OCs. Purdue has changed the formulation and they are now Oxycontin OP. Are there any questions or comments? Does anyone else have advice to add? ## i have and they work fair for pain but made me very tired. ## DO NOT GET THE NEW OPANA 40MG ER, THEY ARE JUCK A LORTAB 10/325 WORK BETTER BEFORE A OPANA WOULD BLOW OXYCONTIN THE NEW ONE (OP)AWAY BUT NOT NOW,MY DR PUT ME BACK ON THE NEW OPANA DO NOT WORK IN 2 WEEK...

new oxcycotin ## The new Oxycontin has the marking OP on one side, with the number that designates the dosage on the other. So, if you have one marked OP 80, then it is an 80mg time released tablet of Oxycodone. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. i have been on oxycontin for about 7 yrs. and these new op's are not the same .i wonder if anyone else has been really depressed.since the new version ops. been on 3 months..they are terrible for pain control..i dont even want to wake up anymore. ## There have been many complaints that they don't work as well and cause odd side effects, in this new formulation, even though Purdue claims they will work the same. I am very sorry to read of what you are going through. The only thing I can really suggest is reporting your problem to both Purdue and the FDA at the following numbers: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 Are there any questions or comments?

this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP. There have, however, been many complaints that they do not work as well and cause odd side effects, even though they are supposed to work the same and have the same side effects. Anyone that has problems should report them to both the FDA and Purdue at the following numbers: P...

round green pill, scored with 'OP' on one side and '80' on the other. Looks just like an oxycontin 80mg ## i ## This is the new 80mg Oxycontin OP tablet, it is replacing the original Oxycontin and has been specially designed to help prevent abuse. Even if you try to chew or crush it, it retains its time released properties. Otherwise it works the same and has the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Oxycontin OP is manufactured by Purdue Pharma and they are the ones responsible for the change to the formulation. It was done to try to help prevent abuse. There have, however, been many complaints about it. Many people have said it does not work as well for pain relief and there have also been reports of unusual side effects. stretch out a hose clamp and grind the pill along the rough edge or there are other creative ways to get it into powder form but it has to be pretty fine but like i said . just be creative. theres always some way to get them into powder. then put it onto a pyrex or glass plate/baking dish spread the powder out thinly then put it on a pizazz im sure everyones heard of a pizazz pizza cooker. and cook it for 6 to 7 mins. or until it starts turning light brown then put it in the freezer for about 10 mins. scrape it up with a razor blade and enjoy. it tastes great and kind of stings the first few times but you get huge tasty drips i realy should try makin money with my method cuz it works try it. ## IT's very dangerous to use any medication in a manner for which it was not intended. I know they make a 40 mg er opana . But do they make a 80 mg er opana ?? ## No, the 40mg is the maximum dosage available. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

been on oxycontin for 4 years and is not working as well since they switched formula ## There have been many complaints about this. Opana contains the active ingredient Oxymorphone and it is actually stronger than Oxycodone, requiring just half the dose. So, if you were taking 80mgs of Oxycontin, you would need just 40mgs of Opana. Since it is a narcotic, the side effect profile is basically the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. We have a plethora of posts from people having problems with them, they range from their not being effective to causing odd side effects. Here are a few links to some of the ongoing discussions: I suggest reporting the problems you are having to both Purdue and the FDA: Purdue Pharma number for drug safety/medication issues: 888.726.7535 FDA MedWatch number: 800-332-1088 Are there any questions or comments?

I'm not using them anymore, where can i safely get rid of them? ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Your pharmacy can dispose of them for you and is most likely the safest place to take them for disposal. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Desperately needing the above in the triad area of NC (Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point) as my Dr was recruited away to a NC university and I have a short window to find a new one. ## I may not have a doctor I can refer you to, but I can provide you with a couple links that may be of service to you in so far as locating pain management doctors within your general area. All you have to do is input your city or zip code for narrowed results: {link removed because site no longer exists} You can give this other page a try too if you come up with different results for some reason or another: wellness.com/find/pain%20management%20specialist Many of the results you find (in one or both of the links above) also list a phone number for that specific doctor; I'd consider calling up a num...

Oxycotin Op's are absolute garbage even the Op 80's do nothing for me. ## If you want to do something about your problem with Oxycodone, why don't you ask your doctor to switch you over to something else that works for you? By all means Oxycodone isn't the only pain medication out there.

I have been taking 40mg methadone everyday for almost a year now and I really would like to switch to suboxone. I know you can't take suboxone until you've had atleast 48hrs from your last dose of methadone, so yesterday and today I've taken an op 80 instead. My question is will I be able to take a suboxone tomorrow and not go into immediate w/d since it will be over 48 from last methadone dose? Or Should I be taking something else instead of op 80s to make the switch? Thank you in advance for any advice! ## Actually, you have to be in full withdrawal, from everything, before you can take Suboxone, so that means you can't be taking the Oxycontin, either. Suboxone actually contains 2 active ingredients, the narcotic Buprenorphine, coupled with Naloxone to prevent the abus...
