Has anyone had problems with lamotrigine (generic Lamictal) manufactured by Northstar Rx ## My pharmacy changed my Teva brand of Lamotrigine to North Star brand. Has anyone noticed a difference with the difference switching brands? ## Yes. I take lamotrigine for bi-polar depression. I have found that the Northstar version of the drug doesn't work. I took it and my mood crashed. Then I got back on the Teva made lamotrigine, and my mood stabilized. I believe the Northstar product in effective. Try to get your prescribing physician to write "Teva - DAW" on your script. ## My original Hyzaar was refilled by mail with Losartan Hctz 100 by Northstar and I think I'm having serious side effects that I just now attribute to the bp med. My legs are cramping; hip joints hurt; panti...

I have been taking venlafaxine from Qualitest, the generic for Effexor for at least a decade and the brand prior the generic becoming available with no issues- it worked with no noticeable side affects. Then Publix corporate greed to save a few pennies a pill switched to Nortstar extender without even informing me. By the time I figured it out that Nothstar's venlafaxine was causing my high, depression, chronic fatigue, constant malaise, internal organ and external varieties of pains I had already suffered through many months of these and more shellfish symptoms. Whether it is a placebo and just suddenly cut off all supply of absolutely necessary decade +long drug in my system or contained harmful fillers-who knows for sure. But for certain it messed up my system and life for along time

My mom in law is 98 and she takes losartan/hctz, she didn't realize it's for bp she thot it was water only and she takes it every other day. What complications could she have she's afraid to take it everyday because she has to urinate more often. ## Hello, Ruthi! How is she doing? I would suggest speaking to her doctor. She can get the Losartan without the Hydrochlorothiazide and just switch to it, or take it on the alternating days to get better control of her blood pressure. Along with more frequent urination, she may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache and hypotension. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Take her to a urologist. I also had frequent urination and then they switched me to long acting meds which I thought helped, however after seeing a urologi...

I have been taking zolpidem 10mg due to not sleeping. I did fine on Mylan zolpidem for years. Now I'm having stomach issues on Northstar zolpidem. Is anyone else experiencing the same symptoms? ## What type of stomach issues? Are you sure they are due to the Zolpidem? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, funny taste in mouth, hallucinations, sleep actions, and next day hangover-like effects. Are you on any other medications? Has anything else changed in your diet, recently?

I have taken Prozac generic fluoxetine for two years. I rec'd new prescription from Northside. Since I started taking this drug, I have been hyper not sleeping, major reflux and heartburn, and today started with diarrhea. I am planning to return this drug to the pharmacy for another brand. I suffer from Celiac disease and don't need the addition issues with stomache problems. ## I am very sorry that you're having such problems. There can be slight differences between generic medications and it may contain an inactive ingredient that you shouldn't take with with Celiac disease. Are there any markings on it? That would enable me to check it further for you. Learn more Fluoxetine details here. ## I did not see any markings on the capsule. It is a two tone capsule that is na...

My usual generic Adderall 10mg pill is usually a round blue pill. It's manufactured usually by Aurobindo and sometimes the pharmacy will give me one manufactured by IMPA (I'm assuming it's an abbreviation). This time, I was given a round light green pill with the numbers 443 and what looks like a smushed letters MP on it. The manufacturer is Northstar (formerly Sun Pharmaceuticals). Is this safe? I had some unrelated stomach issues last year and I'm concerned about side effects of this pill since other dosages of this manufacturers generic Adderall has given people bad side effects. My pharmacy isn't really addressing my concerns. Any info would be great. ## Hi Maggie, I am interested myself. I know a guy who says they are good. But everyone is different. ## Sun Phar...

Could you please tell me who carries the Northstar prozac 20mg Flouroxitine. I used it and now can't find it. thanks ## I'm sorry, but we have no way of knowing what pharmacy has a medication from any given manufacturer in stock, at any given time. Such information would be very dynamic and difficult to keep track of, anyway. Most pharmacies will switch which manufacturer's product they have in stock, depending on who was offering the cheapest prices, when they needed to order a new supply. However, if you ask, they should be able to order it in for you, but you usually had to pay whatever the current price is. Have you tried asking them to order it?

I have been taking this medicine for a short while. The firat 30 days my no was well controlled but I've had a serious backache for about 2 weeks. At refill, it was switched to another brand, North star Rx LL. My bp is again staying elevated, 150/95 consistently, and the backache is gone. Is it possible that I got a bad batch? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? It is rather difficult to say, it could be that it's just not working well for you. What type of foods do you eat? Do you watch your sodium? How much fluid do you drink each day? Are you on any other medications? Do you get lots of exercise? Have you spoken to the prescribing doctor about it?

Hi all, just a few days ago I got a refill for my Clonazepam. The manufacturer has been changed, the pills are produced by Northstar. For the life of me I can't remember what the previous manufacturer was, I will ask my pharmacy. Anyway, I feel like I'm having withdrawal symptoms ever since I take the new generic. Nothing serious, but irritating. I'm only taking 0.5 mg in the morning and 1 mg in the evening. After taking the one in the morning, for the rest of the day I feel like I've forgotten to take it (which happens sometimes). Irritable, dry mouth, jumpy. In the evening I notice a difference too, but not as much, because I take the 1 mg right before I go to bed and I am taking an OTC sleep pill (actually gummies, brand is Olly) as well. It's takes longer to fall...

So my wife recently switched to Walmart to get her Fluoxetine 20MG tabs to save money. She ended up with Northstar Rx LLC brand pills. These are blue dark/light with A106 on them. It's been 3 days now of anxiety, diarrhea, and just all out feeling bad. When we were looking up the manufacturing info I was shocked to see that Northstar is actually shipping these to be produced for them by: Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited in India.... What the hell? Is this legal? I thought the FDA has been telling us time and time again that meds from overseas are unsafe and can not be trusted... Now this LLC (which means they carry little/no liability) is being allowed to import them and sell them here in the states??? I'm really upset, especially when I read other posts online from others who ar...

I was on Adderall XR 30 mg, 3X/day for a long time until all the generics came out with the ineffective fillers and they became ineffective. My doctor then switched me to Ritalin 20 mg, 3X/day. They did help to perk me up. I'm on a heavy dose of morphine thru an infusion pump for chronic pain for almost 10 years. I called the office to tell them about the side effects I was having: INTENSE sweating, ANGER, mood changes. I was told to reduce the script to 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 in the pm. This was a little too low so I take 1 tablet in the am and 1/2 in the pm. So far, this seems to be working well and the sweating has decreased almost 98%, anger is gone. I think I'll stay here since its working. Has anyone else had issues with Ritalin? ## Those can be normal side effects of ...

Been on generic by Northstar for over a year then this last June 2013 I filled my rx again and within 48 hours I went thru syptoms like withdrawl. Trembling, dizzy, nauseous, weak, disoreinted, crying hysterically. This went on for several days. I even went to emergency room and was told my ct scan and blood work came back fine. This went on for a few more days. I asked pharmacy to give me a new refill because I suspected something may have been wrong with this last refill. I improved days later. Very odd. I had been stable for at least two years. Treatment bipolar. I have sent a report to Fda this week and hope that they will test that bottle I suspect might be bad. I've been on Depakote for years and the distributor was Northstar. Safeway has switched to Sun Pharmacy distributors and I have bad stomach cramps now. Can new brand cause this? Anyone else have problems and how can I find out who carries Northstar product? ## There can be difference from one manufacturer to the other, there are allowable fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient and the inactive ingredients can be completely different. Since you've been taking it for so long, it might be one of those factors that's caused the problem. Learn more Depakote details here. Have you tried asking the pharmacy about ordering the Northstar one in for you? The RX changed my allopurinol 300 white AX pill to allopurinol 300 orange N021 pills. It seems like a different effect to me. How do the pills differ upon pulling up ingredients? ## In what ways does it seem to be different? Can you post back and be more specific? Thank you! I'm confused ...I thought Northstar was the more effective brand of Sertraline, but now I'm finding it's not helping. Is Green Mt. a better Sertraline brand? Or something like Green Mountain (not sure that's the actual brand name). AAARGH. ## Hello, Denise! How are you? I'm sorry, but there is no definitive answer that I can give you, it can vary from person to person. It is really a matter of trial and error to discover which one works best for you, if any of them do. After Teva, Mylan, Northstar and many other manufacturers have to decided to quit manufacturing the regular tablet form of Clonazepam in the last few months ive decided to look into switching to the wafer form also known as Orally Disintegrating Tablets. As far as I can see there are only 3 manufactures that make it which is great to me, less chances of getting something different each time you refill. Can someone who has take both the tablet form and the wafer form give some input into which you like better and what brand of wafer are you taking? ## The ODT Clonazepam ive had TEVA and PAR the PAR sucks so i will only get the TEVA they seemed to be much stronger......im not sure of a 3rd company that makes them So id stay away from the PAR.
