Can I take half of one as I have never taken a painkiller before....I had a tooth pulled ## Hi Jorden, I haven't found any medication by the name of "Nophen"... Did you mean to say "Norco"? Norco is available in dosages of 5/325 (hydrodocone + acetaminophen) for moderate to severe pain relief. And to answer your question. This type of pill is ok to break in half, since it's not time-released. I believe there's also a score line dividing the pill for such purposes if I'm not mistaken? Hope this helps!

Having hip surgery in 4 days. I was given a prescription for Hydrocodon-Acetami Nophen 5-325 by my Internist for pain when needed. I have only taken a few in the last week but today, I am hurting a bit more. I know I am to stop taking anything with aspirin in it 7 days before surgery except for tylenol which doesn't work for me. Is there aspirin in this medication? Is it safe to take before my surgery? I INJURED MY KNEE AND THEY GAVE ME HYDROCO APAP 5 325 AND IT IS NOWHERE STRONG ENUFF FOR THIS PAIN IN MY KNEE, I WAS TAKING THE SAME THING WITH NOPHEN 5-500 IN IT WHICH WAS PERFECT BUT FOR SOME REASON COUNTY DOCTORS ALWAYS MESS UP STUFF, I WAS WONDERING IF I COULD MAYBE TAKE 1 1/2 TO ADD UP TO ALMOST THE SAME AMOUNT TO MAKE THE PAIN GO AWAY, IS IT SAFE TO DO ## @Damien, If you've taken this exact medication before at a higher dosage, you may just want to use your own best judgement on what your body can tolerate. Is there a difference between hydrocodon0 actami nophen 5-300 and oxycodone w/APAP 5/325 ? Is one just stronger than the other or are they different drugs? thank you,. ## Dear Rosie, they both have Tylenol (acetaminophen ) in them. Hydro condone is Vicodin and I believe the oxy condone is a bit stronger. I use 2 b on hydro condone and later they have me oxy condone b cause it would work better .
