how this compare to hydrcodone ## Hello, Janis! How are you? Codeine is actually much weaker, each of these tablets is equivalent to about 5mgs of Hydrocodone. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I am severe pain, not sure if its my gallbladder or my stomach ulcer. I was given norco at one point and i am done. I need a pain reliever, i found acetaminophen/ cod 300, but they expired in 2011. Can i still use them?

I do have artritis in myneck and i was prescribe methicarbamol whith codeine, whats the diference between ,methocarbamol and the other one whith codeine ## The Methocarbamol by itself is just a muscle relaxant, so it will only help with pain that is directly caused by muscle spasms or strains. Codeine, however, is a narcotic pain reliever, so it is an analgesic that will help with pain from other causes, as well. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Pacofen (Milicod) (Codeine) ## Is milicod safe for breastfeeding mummy/baby? ## This drug is a pain reliever which contains Acetaminophen (Paracetamol), Caffeine, and Codeine. In the United States, similar brand names are Panlor and Trezix (the difference being they contain Dihydrocodeine Bitartrate as the opioid ingredient). Because of the Codeine inside this medication, "care should be used during breastfeeding as it may result in opiate toxicity in the baby". [1].

Can Codeine be safely taken with Nubain? ## From what I was able to gather, taking Codeine with Nubain (Nalbuphine) is not recommended. I would check with your MD. I am not a doctor nor do I know your medical history, but there are many reported unpleasant side effects. They are both intense pain relievers, however Codeine is intended for mild to moderate pain, whilst Nubain is indicated for more moderate to severe pain. Depending on the severeness of the condition should determine which of the two is right for you by your MD.

my mother has a cut in her left thumb and is much paining her. We had taken antibiotic tablets but still her pain is not decreasing. The Doctor cut the layer of her skin rudely without applying anything on her thumb and so now she is suffering from much pain. So please suggest me some Best pain killers for my mom.... ## I will suggest to try Soma medication because it really help to get relief from injury pains. But it will be better if you ask your doctor about it as it will be unsafe to consume without doctor prescription. ## So getting a prescription makes it safer, that's a new one. Soma is not a pain medication although some compound versions have some OTC pain relievers in them, and Codeine is also available with Soma

I have been on 10 mg oxycodone and codeine #4 for 10 years and now I'm sick of it. I was told kratom is good for pain. Does anyone know if it really works? Pain meds don't work any more and I want off of pain killers. ## I have been looking at kratom forums on the web seeking alternatives to pain pills. I'm getting mixed opinions on it being effective for pain issues. There are online vendors who feature an option of buying a few different strains which you can sample. Most forum users are seeking a way to detox from the pills using kratom to cope with withdrawal symptoms. ## I believe that Kratom is the best pain reliever on the face of the Earth. I have been a Chronic Pain patient for 20 years and have been prescribed Everything Possible for severe pain. Kratom works bette...

when my mom had her appendix out, the dr. gave her a round, yellow pain reliever that started with an N. She is in extreme pain now, and the dr's office said it will take 5 days to get her records out of storage from 2010. It was not a codone, oxi, or anything of that nature because she is allergic to codeine. I want to say it as "nu" something. Does anyone know of a yellow, round pain reliever of this sort? Thank you. ## Hello, Kdex! How are you? There is a round, yellow Nucynta tablet that contains the narcotic Tapentadol and it would have been around at that time, since it was approved in 2008. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can you che...

White tablets, about 3/4 of a centimeter wide, line down the middle of one side, C on the left side of the line, O on the right, nothing on the back of the pill. I've been told they're "small" codeine, probably 5mg with a larger amount of acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, or another mild pain reliever, but I can't find anything quite matching this description online. ## Hello, Unfortunately I can't find a pill that matches the description you provided. The closest match I've come across is Oxycontin 10 mg which has the imprint OC on one side (with no line between the letters) and 10 on the other. Doctor prescribed Tylenol #4 for shingles pain. Can Tylenol #4 be split in half? There is too much codeine in a whole one. It makes me light headed and nauseous. ## To the person asking about splitting Tylenol # 4 in half as it is making you feel nausea. My advice would be to make sure you're not talking it on an empty stomach, as with most pain medications they should be taken with food, however, always read and follow any prescriptions directions and understand their side effects. I would immediately stop taking the medication and consult your Doctor to insure your not taking any conflicting medications; or try a synthetic pain reliever such as Hydrocodone, as many people are allergic to Codeine. Personally however I think Codeine/tylenol # 3 and #4 are junk drugs that's uses ...

I took a tramadol around 1 pm today. I now need another pain reliever, was wondering how long should I wait to take Tylenol with codiene? ## Hello, Jen! How are you? It is best to be cautious, because Tramadol can sometimes initiate withdrawals in people that are opiate dependent, if you try to mix them. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What dosage is the Tramadol that you're taking? Each 50mg dose of Tramadol is equivalent to 33.33mgs of Codeine, so your Tramadol might actually be stronger.

I take 3 Tylenol 4's a day & just got 7.5/325mg hydrocodone today. Would lortab 10 or tylenol #4 be stronger than 7.5 hydrocodone? I did not get the script filled yet. Thank you. ## Loratab 7.5 is somewhat stronger than Tylenol 4, and normally preffered by pain patients over the codeine in the 4's. The 10's are stronger than the 7.5's. Hope that helped. ## Just wanted to add that according to clinical trials cited on nih.gov, "hydrocodone may be a more effective pain reliever than codeine when it comes to acute musculoskeletal pain. Such results were demonstrated by having significantly fewer treatment failures among patients taking hydrocodone." This is 30mg of codeine hcl, no Tylenol in it. These are hard to get unless you have a liver problem. There very addictive. ## Codeine is a narcotic pain reliever and, as such, it has a much of a danger of addiction as any other narcotic. I also wouldn't say they are necessarily harder to get, because they can also be prescribed by some doctors to prevent a liver problem in people that may not have one, but are at risk for it. Are there any questions or comments? ## I have a 30 mg codeine but I’m only used to taking 1 Percocet or 1 Vicodin 7.5mg. Is this pill stronger than one of them?
