Does anyone know of a doctor in WI that is willing to prescribe narcotics for chronic pain. I am a legitimate pain patient. I had twelve vertebrae fused and suffer from severe chronic pain that significantly impacts even the most simple daily activities. I have taken a large dose of opiates for a substantial amount of time (over 7 years) and metabolize the medication very quickly. My doctor is retiring, and I need to find a doctor with an open mind who is willing to look beyond the ignorant stigma surrounding narcotics and approach my treatment in a non-offensive way rather than immediately assuming that anyone who takes narcotics does so illegitimately. NEED A WI DR. HELP! WILL GO ANYWHERE IN WI. ## In Wisconsin, you actually have an organization called the Alliance of State Pain Initi...

Hi I have got gallstones and I have been given oramorph and co deine and paracetamol from the hospital I am on 5ml every 4 hours but still the pain is bad would I ne able to take it every 2 hours or 10ml every 4 hours ## Hello, Jacqui! How are you? You should not change your dosage, without your doctor's approval. Both the Oramorph and the Codeine are narcotics, so you may overdose if you do so, they also carry the risk of being habit forming. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Paracetamol is also dangerous, if you take too much each day, an overdose of it could result in fatal toxicity. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I am very sorry that you're in pain. Yes, you can do so, as long as your doctor approves. They are often prescribed together to try to gain better pain control. The FDA classifies these medication as narcotic analgesics, so they may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I too am a chronic pain sufferer, I was in a bad car accident several years ago, all my limbs were broken at once and they used my hip to rebuild one of my feet. I have a GP that has been helping me but now feels she has been letting me use too many narcotics and has abrubtly cut me off. I'm interested in controlling the pain not using the pills but it feels like nobody really cares. Is there any doctors in the Kansas City area who believe in pain management with narcotics. I believe that if you don't understand the pain of the indivdual it's hard to understand why we ask these questions. I don't want to shop for a docotor that's not what I do but what are we suppose to do if they won't help us. ## Hello, JJ! How are you doing? I am very sorry about the problem t...

I am trying to find a doctor in Montgomery Alabama who will prescribe Subutex for lower back pain and I have a couple of friends who go to a doctor for this but he recently stopped taking patients. I don't want to be on any kind of opiate BC of the chance of getting addicted to it. My friends all say it works great for them and I'm just trying to find another doctor who would prescribe me this, BC again, I don't want to be on any kind of pain killer but I also don't want to be in pain all the time. It would be great if you could help me out with this question. Thank you! ## Hello, Ryan! How are you? Actually, the active ingredient in Subutex is an opiate, Buprenorphine, so it carries the same risk of being habit forming as all other narcotics. The FDA lists its typical s...

I have rsd/crps, my pain management physician is moving, my disease involves bilateral hands and feet, my right shoulder is bone on bone and is not repairable, i need to find a pain management physician in the kansas city or springfield mo area that utilizes a written contract for narcotic pain management ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Just a warning: If you contact places and ask them about prescribing narcotics, before you're a patient, most will view that as being drug seeking behavior and won't even let you get in the door. So, if you do get a good recommendation, you'll want to wait, until you are at an appointment with them, to discuss your treatment options. I'm not saying you're doing this, I'm just letting you know, in case. And with any doctor, there's...

I have both chronic and acute headaches. I've taken everything. The only relief I ever get is through narcotics. No one will prescribe them so I've spent the last 10 years in bed, in the dark. I would really like to die because the pain is so bad. When it gets bad I'll go to the ER but they won't even help me. I also have a problem with my body making kidney stones. Please help. ## Hello, Rocky! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require narcotics on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist. A PCP won't be able to prescribe them for you. Thus, you'll likely need to see a neurologist and a urologist. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to other doctors? If so, that would be the best w...

My current doctor is moving out of state I have been on a good regiment with her for my pain medication. Now that she is leaving I was told the other doctor in the practice will follow her patients and prescribe the way she does. However before all this with my doctor leaving she refused to write for narcotics. With that said I am worried that 2 months down the line she won't follow what was set up. If anyone knows of any doctors or nurse practitioners in the Capital District area that would be helpful. I would be willing to travel a little.

I have been fighting Pancreatitis for the past 4 years. I've been hospitalized 17x's in 20 months. I live in constant pain, my doctor will only prescribe me 30 x Roxy 30's a month equals 1 a day, JOKE! can anyone help? ## Hello, Matt! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain. What type of doctor are you seeing? If you require heavy narcotics on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, so pain management might be your best bet. The FDA lists this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? Is there a chance your current doctor might be able to refe...

I am so frustrated with how I have to worry regarding if or will my pain meds be cut off or not. I want to find out who knows what state is the most liberal regarding Pain Meds? I live in Montana. I am an older woman and I don't feel I have to be treated as if I am a young teenager and have to be in a contract, although I always do sign one I have never failed a U/A or anything. I would be willing to move to a State where I could live out the rest of my life without the fear of being cut off narcotics due to new regulations. In this day and age no one should have to suffer in pain!!! ## I agree! Unfortunately, the government puts everyone into one category and we all suffer. My Dr does random UA's and med checks. How is your wife? What type of doctor has she been consulting? Physicians really have no choice but to be extremely cautious about prescribing such medications and, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if strong narcotics are required on a long-term ongoing basis, then only a specialist can prescribe them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzines...

I have been prescribed narcotics for chronic back pain for about 4 years after a serious fall at work. My family is moving from Michigan to Florida and I am wondering if I will be able to fill my script. I'm sure my Dr will write me 3 months scripts, until I can get a new Dr in FL, but I'm wondering how I should go about getting my meds until I find one. Thanks in advance for your help! ## Yes. As I have stated before the only issue that can screw you is the Pharmacist as they have the right to fill or not fill any script.
