Hi, it's Kel again. I wrote earlier but now I am here with a different topic amd would like some opinions. I was recently switched (2 days ago actually) from being on Percocet 10-325 4xd to MSContin 15er & Percocet 7.5 4xd for BT. My Dr. was going to go ahead & start me at 60 mg of the MSContin and take my Percocet down. I freaked out due to just beinh another "new" drug. I habe to many chronic conditions to write but I can honestly say I am about to have 2 major surgies. And he is wanting me to get that Neuro Implant device. My question is, this is just my 3rd dose of the MSContin (morphine sulf er 15 mg) and I am truly not feeling that much of pain relief even when I take my now reduced Percocet dosage. I am on other medications as well, Klonopin being one. I think...

These dont seem to work can you take every 8hrs instead of 12hrs ## Hi Mike, It sounds to me like the dosage may not be strong enough for you; but to answer your question, the usual adult dose for pain is 5 to 30 mg every 3 to 4 hours as needed (when taking it Orally, Sublingual, or Buccal). The dosing indications for MS Contin (Morphine Oral) also state that "extended-release" tablet dosages range from 10 mg to 600 mg daily, given in equally divided doses every 8 to 12 hours or given as one dose every 24 hours. So depending on whether or not your tablets are extended-release, you should have some flexibility with the hours. I hope this helps! ## They are extend release ## If anyone is looking for a "buzz" with MS Contin, you are very unlikely to get it. These pills are ...

Does it take some time to build up in the system for this medication to start working for pain? I have just started taking them today, 1 every 12 hours. Thank you for any information that you can give me. ## Hi gwen, While it's certainly going to take some time for it to fully build up in your system, I would think that you should at least be able to feel or notice some sensation of relief within a short period of time after taking your dose. However, because MS Contin is timed released and usually lasts up to 12 hours, it's time-release effect could also be minimizing how much is absorbed into your system at any given moment; making it seem like it's not working as well as it should be. That's my theory anyways...But in the event that you're just not getting any rel...

Is there such a morophine pill that had M on one side and ms 15 on the othet side? ## I want to make sure I did not get ripped off...i paid good money for 10 "15 mg morophine pills". But all images I can find have no such pill that is thick, blue with ms 15...on one side...and M (no square) on the other side ## Hi Don, I think you'll be pleased to know that these are real. A round blue pill imprinted with "M" on one side and "ms 15" on the other is identified as Morphine sulfate extended release (15 mg); which is used to relieve severe or agonizing pain and suffering. It is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Learn More: Morphine Details I hope this helps! ## Yes, it should be round, blue and have the MS over 15 on one side and the M on the other, it i...

Can I take MS Contin 15 mg and Norco 10-325 together or should I space them out over the day? ## They can be taken together, if they have both been prescribed for you. However, as reported by the NIH, taking them together may result in your experiencing more severe side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?
