I was on methadone for 7 years my doc and I decided to get of it,I am on OxyContin 15mg q12 hrs along with 10 mgs of narco 10mg 3x a day should this be sufficiently controling my pain? ## Hello, Deb! Do they make a fifteen milligram methadone pill ## No, the pill form is only available in 5, 10 and 40mg doses. As a matter of fact, I'm not seeing a 15mg listed in any of the dosage forms. Are you currently on Methadone? ## Depends on where you are I would say. In Calgary I get 25 mg pills from Shopper's Drug Mart so I don't have to take so many tiny 5-10 mg pills. They will order anything if they know you will get it filled there. They need some advance notice but they know it's a standing order now so now it's no problem. They don't make the pills at the pharmacy so it's where ever they order it from and many places have the 25 mg pills. I am currently on 54 ml. of Ordine 10, 150 mg Fentanyl patch, and 80 mg Targin, equivalent to about 1,200 mg of morphine a day. My pain specialist wants me to change to methadone or suboxone. ive been working to reduce my daily methadone dosage for a year now, as I've been on maintenance. I'm down from 55 mg daily to only 15mg at this point and soon enough will be free of its clutches. I've been maintaining a clean lifestyle and I don't need a lecture on addiction. My question is--can Belviq be taken with Methadone? My doctor says it completely negates any opiate based or nRcotic pain medications in the brain. Last thing I need is to be thrown into sudden horrible withdrawals. I have taken opiates lately, and as an addict it is hard not to go for whatever you can get your hands on to make the withdrawals go away. I had a setback and took 150 mg vyvanse, and of course got the energy I was wanting, but now I can not get to sleep. When I lay down I am wide awake, which I'm assuming is from the vyvanse, but I can feel my withdrawal symptoms from the opiates. I have 10 mg of methadone to help me but I'm afraid to take it with the vyvanse. Can I take them together? Will it take away my withdrawal symptoms will either one cancel the other out? About Me & A Question: After I stopped taking Dilaudid (prescribed) I got violently ill, freaked out and found myself at a for-profit methadone clinic. I was there for 6 months, my highest dose was 45 mg but I spent the majority of it at 30 mg. Even though I earned 3 take homes, I became VERY sick of driving in there 4 days a week and paying $450/month ($15 per day) and I wasn't there for the right reasons (because I freaked out from the previous withdrawal) so I started my detox and totally ignored their suggested schedule and did it my way (much faster). After 15 years I was kicked off 200 mgs of methadone daily because the pain doc wasn't "comfortable" with it all of a sudden, but he is perfectly willing to let me drop dead suffering like a dog in front of my family at age 60, two hip replacements and severe osteoporosis. Sure enough the first day I went into a massive withdrawal and wound up with a dislocated hip on top of it at the ER. I wrote a complaint to the NY health dept and got a nasty letter saying the doctor can do whatever he wants as long as he provides emergency care. Is taking 4methadone 10mgs the same as a 40mg wafer? It doesn't seem to last as long or as strong. ## If they are regular release, then they should work the same. However, medications can be funny, so that might not be true of Methadone. Have you checked with your doctor? Can you take methadone 16 hours after taking a little less then half of a 8mg Subutex? ## Yes, but you may not feel the methadone. And it's the other way around, taking methadone then subutex can cause problems. ## I have been on suboxone for about three weeks and ran out, but went 4 days without then took 5 mg of methadone because that was all I had left. I take 4-10mg methadone. I'm worried that they also got me on 100mg Zoloft plus a 150mg Trazadone and 2- 20mg adderal. Worred about taking all this pills. I've taken these pills for 8yrs now. The Zoloft they put me on 2 months ago. I breath fine but have had it fill like my brain is starving for oxygen to the point I fill like I'm suffocating or READY to pass out. It is actually wanted by the users from what I have heard. Please be careful everyone. There has been growing numbers of OD including an epidemic not too long ago where more then 3 died from the cutting of F (too much) with hours in the same hotel.

The situation is basically this -- Where I usually receive methadone (the normal 10mg.) I am having a situation where this route may not be avail. I recently was told a new person may have 90mg LIQUID form of methadone. First, my main purpose is to taper off other opioids. My thought process was this basically 15 (quantity) of the 10mg methadone and, in a week lower the dosage. Now that may not be an option. If I receive this 90mg LIQUID methadone how do I administer it? And, is one "bottle" (or however it comes) enough for a seven day "detox"? I am very confused on how to taper with this new form. is 50mg tramadol as effective as 10mg methadone ## best tramadol ## @mark, According to a double-blind clinical trial, Tramadol was reported to be more efficacious in managing the symptoms of opioid withdrawal (and with fewer side effects) than Methadone. This study is based on a 450 mg/day dose of Tramadol in comparison to a 15mg/day dose of Methadone. So if you ask me, my thoughts are that 50mgs of Tramadol wouldn't have results that are as significant as what was displayed in the clinical trials, since that would only amount to 200-300mgs a day (when taken every 4-6 hours) as opposed to 450mg/day. Results will probably also depend on each individuals tolerance to pain meds as well as body chemistry and several other underlying factors. I'd encourage you to talk with your doct...

changing from Methadone for pain to Suboxone for pain. Pain clinc is trying to pass the buck, I cant find a GP in or around the Trenton Ontario area to prescribe. I have been taken 150 mg pill form for 6 years works good. But moved pain clinc is in Oakville Ontario usually pain clinc wants your GP to take over prescribing but most GPs are nervous because they have to get a section 56 Methadone exemption. Canadian government needs to make it easier to get, would help out a lot of people. Try going to a Addiction centre just to get Medication closer to home. After taking 98 mg of methadone for the past 9 yrs, is it possible 2 switch 2 suboxone? My body was significantly abused when i was out there, lots of back injuries, no pain w/ methadone. Does suboxone do this also?
