hi my mother has been experiencing high BP frm the past two monthe(160/100),our doc has prescribed her MET XL 50mg.my doubt is is'nt the dosage too much for her ## I AM TAKING MET XL-50 WITH NOVOMIX 30 I WANT TO KNOW ANY SIDE AFECT WITH THESE TWO MEDICINE TOGATHER SO PLEASE SEND ME REPLY ## Iam suffaring high bp please help me. ## My mom has been prescribed. Does this medicine cause constipation my Dr has prescribed laxative. Is it safe? ## From what I can find, this contains Metooprolol and Amlodipine, it is used to help control blood pressure. And yes, it can cause constipation for some people and some doctors will give laxatives or stool softeners for a certain period of time for people that are new on the drug, to prevent it. Are there any side effects for this drug ?? I had angioplasty done two years ago. The doctor put me on Met XL R 25/2.5 and Prolomet AM 50 for my bp. I also take Ecosprin AV 75 regularly. I feel at times very tired without any workout and bit depressed. Feel weak in my legs when I walk. Lots of gas and palpitation on and off. I am wondering if it is due to these tabs. Kindly advise. My doctor have me taking 1/2 tablet Metoprol XL 50mg 1 time of day for 15 days what am i using this tablet for ## Metoprolol is a beta blocker that has several medical uses, such as treating high blood pressure, certain cardiac conditions and to help protect the kidneys. After my aortic valve replacement 7 months ago,I started taking PROLOMET 25 XL on Doctor's prescroption. Before my surgery my triglycerides level was less than 100. I started using MET XL 50 MG AFTER ANGIOPLASTY AT 8 AM IN THE MORNING. IN THE BEGINGING ONE MONTH MY BP USED TO BE 110/70. THE MEDICINE WAS USED ALONG WITH CLOPITAB, NITRACT AND ECHOSPRIN. RECENTLY I OBSERVED MY BP TO BE GOING UP IN SPITE OF THE USAGE OF THE DRUG AND IT GOES TO 95/155 BY EVENING 6 PM EVEN THOUGH I AM STILL TAKING THE DRUG IN THE MORNING. THE DCOTOR ASKED ME TO REPEAT THE DOSAGE IN THE EVENING ALOS. AFTER TAKING THE EVENING DOSAGE BY 10 PM THE BP COMES BACK TO 120/78. HEART RATE IS SAME THROUGHOUT THE DAY BETWEEN 58 TO 70.
