Meds That Can Be Taken With The Fentynal Patch

I am currently on 75mg Fentanyl patch, along with Tramadol,Nuerotin & Methotrexate.(those are just the meds for pain) I have bulging disc pressing on my spinal cord & pinching a nerve. I also suffer from severe arthritis that can eventually become crippling. April 2014 I had a full hysterectomy that required a bladder sling,pelvic mesh,I have been experiencing pain & complications from that surgery. Then in July 2014, I broke my tail bone.Since all these things I have alot of break thru pain. What medication can be prescribed with the fentanyl patch that is safe & can best help manage the pain. I have 14 & 9yr old boys,I would love to be able to thru all their practices & games. The last 2yrs I've had to missed alot of them. Please if anyone has any suggestio...

HI everyone. I have some serious questions to ask you all. I started using the patch a few years ago. I was also on hydro pills. I took 4 or 5 a day of the pills and a patch every 48 hours. About a year ago I just stopped taking the pills. But I started to cut small pieces of my patch and chew on them. At first it would last me the 48 hours. Now I am having to find 100mg patches from another guy because I'm chewing a patch a day. I never meant for this to happen, And 5 yrs ago I wouldn't even think of taking any pain meds, but my pain got to the point I had too. I'm now to the point that guilt is driving me crazy. I know I need something for pain, but I don't know what to do? I hear about slowly getting off, But like cutting down on smoking, it would be very very difficu...

I have been on various pain meds for 20 years after 5 back surgeries, the latest of which is fentynal. I now have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia and my pain management doctor said it destroys the body's opiate receptors so I have gone form 100 to 50 then 25 for about 4 months. Dr suggested, since I had 3 25s left to stop for 2 day (no patch) then back on for 3 days, then off for 3 days back on patch for 3 days then I should be ok. I made it 3 days off the first time but shouldn't have stayed off that long, I had a meltdown, crying hysterically besides all the other symptoms, I put the patch back on and then next time went w/o it for 72 hours before I couldn't stand it and then put my last patch on and took it off 4 days ago. Same symptoms, so shaky I can hardly type this. ...

I sit with a 73 year old lady. I take care of all her meds and refills. I thought she had a refill on file...long story short,she didn't. She is on 25 mg patches. Her patch was supposed to be changed this morning at 9 but they wont be ready til mnday morning. Should I give her as needed lortab to keep her out of withdrawal or will she be fine til Monday from Saturday? ## HI Cheryl, I believe that the lady you care for should be fine until Monday since it's only a couple days and there should still be some of the Fentynal medication in her system. However, if you she doesn't get the medication Monday she might experience some signs of withdrawal ie: nausea, vomiting, insomnia, headaches etc.. I have been on Oxycodone 15mg 6X per day for 9 yrs & MS Contin 30mg 2 X per day for maybe 4 yrs. I went for the appt as I do EVERY month & see all kinds of wrong stuff going on, mind my own Business. Ok so patients are coming out all Pissy, Angry & upset. Again I don't say anything but now it's my appt time, well it was scheduled for 9:00AM it was 11:45AM & Dr said he no longer is prescribing any more oxycodone, Percocet, Endocet & even Vicodan! I left with my MS Contin 30MG! Now I'm afraid I will go into withdrawals & suffer a seizure. He said next month he might give me Dilaudid or Fentynal Patch. I'm so confused. I have severe migraines I am currently taking 100 mcg of Duragesic patch changed every 48 hours and 5 10mg Vicodin. I have have bad reactions to preventative medications, chiropractic antidepressants and have built up a tolerance to pain meds. My pain is so severe I can't keep my food down. Does any one know if there is a higher dosage of Duragesic/Fentynal that would help with the pain. I am miserable and so sick I don't want to get up. ## Ask your doctor for vistaril it will cut that nausa down . It is both drugs giving you the nausea but you have to eat something .. Soup..
