Lisinopril Hctz Alternative

Just learned that the chronic cough I've had for two years might be caused by this med. What would be the alternative Rx? ## Sorry to hear about your bad experience with Lisinopril. Have been on Tek for over 3 years in conjunction with lisinopril and HCTZ. would like to find an alternative to Tek in lieu of Novartis AVOID studies. I am not currently considered diabetic but do have on going Blood Sugar issues ## There are many other medications available for treating hypertension, so it will really all depend on what works best for you. I had been taking 2 tablets of Lisinopril 20 + 12.5 mg HCTZ for almost 20 years. I'm now 60 years old and since my BP is under control, I asked my doctor to take me off the HCTZ. It's been only a week now and I have noticed swelling in my feet and ankles along with a reddish rash. I previously had no side effects from the HCTZ other than dry mouth and skin and frequent urination. Does anyone know if gradually decreasing the amount of HCTZ rather than just stopping abruptly would be a better alternative or if I'm just destined to take HCTZ for the rest of my life? ## Your doctor just had you stop this medication abruptly? Is there a blood pressure medicine alternative to Benicar. I would like to find a cheaper alternative. ## lisinopril/HCTZ (Prinzide®, Zestoretic®). Just found it today on the web. ## can you buy generic benicar ## Unfortunately there will not be a generic available until 2016 when the patent for this drug expires. ## I just bought generic benicar. came from India... you can also get it from Austraila. and Canada. benicar is expencive... its worth it if it helps..I just hope it has all the active ingrediants, not a phony placebo. ## To "Bill" regarding your posting on 10/10 and finding a generic Benicar overseas...have you had time to try this version out and is so, do you feel it is a viable substitute for the American manufactured version? i am out of my blood pressure med can i takelisinopril hctz ## Although these two medications are both used for high blood pressure, there's really no telling whether or not you'll experience the same benefits from Lisinopril or even react favorably to it, since everyone responds differently these drugs. Not to say it wont work, but it's always good to have backup options. There are many natural alternatives for Blood Pressure control that in my opinion can be just as effective as prescription medication if taken seriously.
