Dr. took me off Klonopin after years of use. She obviously did not know how as she took me completely off in 8 days. I am going through the worst withdrawals. What can I do? ## Go to the hospital and tell them what she has done and unless you were taking meds that you not suppossed to be taking, she should have prepared you for this. ## Thank you for the reply Kelly. I ended up going to the hospital and they put me back on 1/2 the dose so that I can wean off slowly. Even though I felt terrible on the inside, my vitals were good. I feel better taking it now until I wean off slow. Thanks again, I appreciate the support. This is really hard, harder than I would have imagined. I'm waiting to see what the low dose will do to help my symtoms right now. Will post again later. Thanks again ...

Is it possible to become addicted to .5 mg Klonolpin daily dose? When I say addiction, I mean actual physical withdrawal symptoms. I would think most could come off a dose this small without any serious withdrawal. ## At this low of a dose and not abusing it by taking more and more of it, someone would actually become dependent on it, rather than addicted. And dependence can cause some withdrawal symptoms, when the medication is discontinued, but they are usually pretty mild. Learn more Klonopin details here. The most dangerous aspect, if they'd been taking it for a long period of time, is the risk of seizures if they stop taking it abruptly. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Even after taking Klonopin 0.5mg for a short time you can still have mental & some physical ...

All HELP and encouragement is appreciated! Last year, in November, I abruptly stopped 60mg. of Cymbalta after taking it for 3 years. I had NO IDEA what would happen. I experienced a 20 day constant panic attack that I later learned was withdrawal.Needless to say, I was prescribed Klonopin as needed and went on Zoloft. I got through that and I think I only took a couple of .5 K. FAST FORWARD to this year...My PDOC had me on 100mg. zoloft and 36mg. Concerta, and 2mg. of Abilify. 11months later, I was so distant, I decided to come off Abilify. Stopped abruptly. Anxiety, sickness came on with a vengeance. My PDOC convinced me that he would not let me become addicted to the Klonopin and that I needed to take it regularly. Long story short, I took between .5 and 1mg for about 6 weeks. I then ...

a friend takes Klonopin - I think abuses it. Twice he has not taken it for a day and he loses his ability to talk. Slurred speech - as soon as he takes it again - he is fine. How can he get off this drug? He also abuses oxycodone - I am trying to help, but I am way over my head. I need help, he needs help. We don't have monet for private treatment, he refuses to admit himself. Does anyone out there have some suggestions? I am in Florida. ## Get into a drug program. I was prescribed Klonopin 1mg about 3 years ago to help with anxiety and sleep. I wish I would of never started this Benzo! The "Nurse Practitioner" who handles Mental health patients did not educate me on what I was getting myself into. When I started taking it of course it was helping me sleep & somewhat helping the Anxiety. I would see this Nurse Practitioner once a month and I would speak on how I was feeling. Throughout the year's never once was I made aware of the Benzo withdrawal symptoms. Fast forward to about a week ago. I started feeling physically sick the worse i've ever felt (Nausea, Fatigue, Severe body aches, Diarrhea) just to name a few symptoms. I told this Nurse Practitioner I strongly believe it is the Klonopin making me sick. The reply was "We...

I'm embarrassed so please forgive me. I've been taking 5mg Vicodin for Osteoarthritis for about a month then switched to 5mg Percocet for about another month, 4 times a day. I don't want to take either anymore so I asked to be taken off. My pain Doctor put me on .5mg of khlonopin and now I'm terrified of withdrawals. I haven't had any opioid in over 24 hours. What can I expect? What does khlonopin help with? I'm very scared so any information will be appreciated. Thanks. ## @Momof5, Sorry to hear about your challenges with osteoarthritis. As far as opioid withdrawals are concerned, the truth is that each individual may react differently based on a variety of factors... But seeing as you've only taken these drugs for 2 months, my personal opinion is that they ...

I've been on 130 mg methadone a day for over a year... i got cut off so now i'm withdrawing.. Will taking Percocet and .5mg claudapins help the withdrawal symptoms? ## It will help, ever so slightly Easiest way to withdrawal, Taper methadone down every two weeks I would start at 100 Take 100 for 2 weeks Go to 80 for 2 weeks Go to 60 for two weeks 40 35 Then at 35 or 30 Start taking it every other day Stay off for 5 days, then switch to suboxone Suboxone for 2 months until you take nothing This way you won't suffer from the acute withdrawal syndrome for the next 3 months I stopped cold turkey at 60 after being on it for years, I had no energy for 3 months ## No offense do nottake that advice that is way too aggressive you can die are you extremely sick please be careful what ...

Klonopin, or clonazepam is one of the hardest drugs to get off of. I have seen this in hospital settings as a nurse myself and as a patient of this horrible drug. Benzodiazepines should never have been invented. I have been on this med for 3 years now, and cannot handle the withdrawal affects no longer than one month. I wish the doctor would have warned me of how dependent your brain and the central nervous system relies on this med only after even 2 months of taking this. I have been advised by doctors to slowly shave the pill down over a period of a year if needed, and then I have had some doctors tell me that may never be able to get off of this drug ever!! Withdrawal symptoms include for myself a feeling of anxiety and panic constantly, never-ending, shaking, hot and cold, no appeti...

I have been taking 1mg Klonopin for 2yrs now. I had someone steal my medication, so for 6 days I am without meds. I am 62 yrs old. Should I worry about detox? ## It would be best to inform your doctor, since a sudden withdrawal can create the risk of seizures, according to FDA warnings. You may also experience rebound anxiety, nervousness, dizziness, and headache. Did you file a police report? ## No, because it was someone in my home, the doctor would believe it's another drug story as I am also prescribed 2mg. of subutex from him. ## I just had my prescription of my klonopin stolen out of my purse along with money I needed as well and this occurred apr 11 2018...I am literally at my wits end now because I have filed a police report on what I had taken from my purse!! I'm being weaned off of 25mcg of fentanyl patches. The doctor gave me five 12.5 patches to wean me off of the 25mcg patch and told me when I felt it was the right time to take it off, to go ahead and do so. Now I'm still having withdrawal's. Granted not as bad of one I had when I ran out of the 25mcg. I'm restless and take .5mg of klonopin twice a day and vistril 25mg for break threw panic disorder I have and a slight heaviness and pain in my chest along with headache. I nausea. I've now turned to cannabis to cope with anxiety and nausea. I figure they give to cancer patients to help. Its herbal and non addictive except psychologically. The doctor never said or asked about an alternative for withdrawal. I've read a lot on here and has helped tremendously! I thank...

Hi, I am taking Lamictal, 150 mg, for years and years, along with an antidepressant - at the moment Lexapro - and for anxiety I take 1.5 mg of Klonopin. My diagnosis is dysthymia - constant low level depression - and I am struggling with it for years and it doesn't go away. I was my happiest on antidepressants and anti-anxiety meds only. That's why I'm planning on asking my shrink to stop the Lamictal. Have any of you experienced withdrawal symptoms and how do they manifest? Thank you! ## You will most likely have to taper off it, due to the fact that while it does help some people with mental health problems, it is actually an anticonvulsant, so stopping it abruptly could put you at risk of experiencing seizures, according to FDA warnings. Other withdrawals effects may incl...

I'm scared to death. I've been on 8mgs of xanax for 7 years and on 4mgs of klonopin for 2 years before that. As my tolerance grew so did my need for more xanax but 8mgs is the highest amount allowed to be prescribed. I've tried almost every drug to help with sleep before and nothing worked. I had a doctor that never saw me and all I had to do was pick up my prescription. I never thought I'd lose him. I'm now physically addicted and dependent on xanax. I have gone a day without and I'd rather be dead. I'm near Charlotte Nc and I need an understanding doctor ASAP. I've seized, been to the ER and attempted suicide bcuz the withdrawals are so inhumanely horrible. Nobody should suffer for months like that and it does last for months if you don't end up dyi...

Hey listen, weaning is the only way to detox alone.. Here's what to do and what you need... Get a script of Neurontin, (doctors shouldn't have a problem) get a script of Klonopin (doctors will give this for a good reason) get Imodium AD, lots of water, lots of juice. Wean down as far as you can and then take that last jump off. You'll be hot then cold then hot. You'll be out of it.. You'll "have a very bad flu." You'll throw up.. You'll have the runs.. But the horrible part will be the deep hole of dispare.. You can medicate for everything else..the black hole is the real issue. It takes a strong mind to throw this off. As the brain heals and the receptors get use to not receiving opiates..you will feel the improvement. It's like waking from a nig...

Withdrawal from Clonazepam can occur if you get use to taking the medication regularly and you become physiologically dependent on it. Because of tolerance you can feel it becoming less effective over time and get withdrawal symptoms even if you continue to take the same amount of Clonazepam. ## Withdrawal from Clonazepam can occur if you get use to taking the medication regularly and you become physiologically dependent on it. I take 1 four times daily and take 2 .5's in between doses for breakthrough anxiety. Stay away from this drug if u don't have anxiety PTSD and severe panic disorder and Stockholm syndrome. ## Does Xanax work better for Anxiety? I give similar warnings about Xanax, and my Doctor just put me on Klonopin. Said it was very easy to withdraw from. The more reading I do I see that is not so? I have enough Xanax for now so I am not going to 'try' the Klonopin any more. Wasn't terrible like Ativan which I hated ## i had a dr. that cut me off after 3 days and i heard you need at least 2 weeks any help would be much appreciated ## From what I've heard, Klonopin and Xanax are both known for invoking some of the worst withdrawal experiences you can have on any of these types ...

I have been on klonopin 1mg for 4 months after an acute mixed manic episode. When I asked my psychiatrist if I could taper at 10% (.125mg) every 2 weeks her answer was: No .25mg at a time because if you're not stable to begin with it doesn't matter how you taper ! She's added large of gabapentin on top of this. I intend to milk titrate over the next 4 months. What do I do? Please advise. ## It is always best to follow your doctor's instructions. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause withdrawal effects that could include seizures, rebound depression, rebound anxiety, diarrhea, and nervousness. I am on a valium taper for withdrawal of Klonopin which I took for over 20 years. I am one year off of the Klonopin I am down to 5 mg of valium and almost finished with the taper. Although I am better, I still have anxiety, angry outbursts, "brain fog," insomnia.. The dr. had me on Wellbutrin for mood swings. The Wellbutrin seemed to cause my anxiety to be worse and cause my hypomania to return. (I was dx with bipolar II many years ago and that was why I was on Klonopin) . Both my dr. and therapist have suggested I am NOT BIPOLAR. Have a MOOD DISORDER. Until the benzo withdrawal I had several years of stability while bipolar. My question is this: In spite of withdrawal symptoms (which are far less after one year of tapering off of Klonopin), I am basically depressed and the dr. ...

I have been taking 3 one mg klonopin for 25 years, I now have tranxene 7.5 mg. I'm very worried that I will have withdrawal because I've read that Tranxene is very weak in comparison. Is this true? I'm terrified I will have a seizure. Please any advice or info is greatly appreciated. ## Hello, Bri! How are you? Yes, it is much weaker, you actually need 15mgs of Tranxene to equal each 1mg of Klonopin. You're not going cold turkey, which lessens the seizure risk, but it doesn't completely eliminate it. These medications also carry the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability. Did you doctor prescribe this dosage?
