What is the diffrence in taking tramadol 50 mg, and taking tylenol with codeine#3 300/30mg ## Hello, Butterfly! How are you? They are almost equivalent, actually. You'd need 33.33mgs of Codeine to be equivalent to the 50mgs of Tramadol. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does tramadol 50mg contain codeine? The pharmacist that I spoke to while picking up the prescription assured me that it does not. I'm severely allergic to codeine and as I read the packet I got with the medication it says if you are severely allergic to codeine to not take this medication. Please help. ## Hello, Nicole! How are you? No, the pharmacist was correct. Tramadol is the active ingredient, it is a mild opioid analgesic. Thus, the FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. If you are allergic to one narcotic, there is always a risk that you may be allergic to others, but it isn't a very common occurrence. Tramadol itself, however, is not Codeine. Is there anything ...

can I safely take 50mg tramadol with 40mg oxycontin? ## There is no way anyone here would be able to provide a reasonable answer to that questions. You should consult with your doctor to see if it is OK because everyone is different. That said: so long as you stick to the prescribed dosage of each, you *should* be OK. Are there any other medications you are currently taking, including over the counter medications or herbal medicine? Also, alcohol should be avoided while taking those medications. ## Don't mix anything with Tramadol. Especially narcotics. Never !! I dont care what anyone says dont do it. There are certainly other drugs that can be taken with Tramadol but Narcotics like Oky as you mention. No way ! It's just not worth the risk. Pick one or the other but not both. #...

Is it ok? ## They shouldn't be taken together, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so, because contain opiates, so doubling up might result in overdose, which can be fatal. Any one in the Anchorage,AK area having trouble getting prescription for tramadol from your Dr.? My Dr. prescribe's me 3-50mg. a day, but for some reason he now will only prescribe me 60 a month. When I first started out with him he would prescribe me 90 a month no problem. I have verifiable lower back" degenerative issue" as he put's it. With MRI to prove it. Is tramadol now looked at the same as a narcotic or what? He doesn't even want to discuss the issue. Just weird. ## From an outside perspective I can only think that your doctor may just be looking for you by playing it safe with the dosing so that you don't become too dependent or addicted to the medication. Tramadol is addictive even though its not an opiate. Tramadol is not currently scheduled as a contr...

I took a Tramadol 50mg, at 6am how long should I wait before taking my Hydrocodone 10/325mg ## It's always best to follow your doctor's dosing instructions, but usually you can just transition smoothly from one opiate to another, at the next scheduled dosing time. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My husband has artheritis and is taking tramadol twice a day (50mg.) his dr. said he would take one every 4 hrs but he doesn't, so maybe that's why it does not help the pain very much... can he also take orycodine/500ms. acetaminphen with the tramadol ## Hello, Lillie! How is your husband doing? Before trying to add other medications, on your own, he needs to try taking it as prescribed, for awhile to see if that helps his pain. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thanks!!!!!!But if it doesn't help, could he possibly taker the two together....

My Dr. put me on tramadol 50mg 2 every 6hours.I was on codeine #3 but the VA pharmacy ran out and wont have them till Feb. My question is will I have any bad affects switching from codeine #3 to tramadol 50 mg thanks for your help. ## Hello, Mark! How are you? It only takes 45mgs of the Tramadol to equal each 30mgs of Codeine that you were taking, so you may actually get better pain relief from taking 100mgs of it. And the side effects should be about the same, the FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I took a tramadol around 1 pm today. I now need another pain reliever, was wondering how long should I wait to take Tylenol with codiene? ## Hello, Jen! How are you? It is best to be cautious, because Tramadol can sometimes initiate withdrawals in people that are opiate dependent, if you try to mix them. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What dosage is the Tramadol that you're taking? Each 50mg dose of Tramadol is equivalent to 33.33mgs of Codeine, so your Tramadol might actually be stronger.

What is the difference between Lortab 7.5 and Tramadol 50mg? I have severe pain from severe enamel loss on my teeth due to Gastroesophigal Reflux Disease and have been prescribed pain meds until i can have my teeth extracted. I have been prescribed both of these (not at the same time) and found the Lortab 7.5 to work better to control the pain. I also feel very dizzy while taking the Tramadol and doesn't seem to relieve the pain as much. Any thoughts, suggestions or info? ## The Tramadol is derived from an opiate, but doesn't have the same pain relieving effects, so the Lortab is stronger, because it actually has the narcotic Hydrocodone in it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsin...

I ordered 50mg Tramadol capsules from a website. The shipment came from Australia. They came in a white box with APOTEX on the outside. APO Tramadol 50mg was written on the outside. Inside were blister packs with unmarked green and yellow capsules. I have taken several and have had no pain relief. Just felt a little dizzy. Are these the real deal? ## Hello, Dawn! How are you? I'm sorry, but since they have no markings, I can't really say whether or not they are real. However, what I can tell you is that Apotex uses imprints on all of their medications, so I doubt that you actually received what you ordered. That is a hazard of ordering online like that, you just never know for sure what you might receive. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming ...

I've been taking the Tramadol/APAP 325 with Acetaminophen for many years as I have Fibromyalgia. My doctor just changed it to Tramadol 50mg. Is that stronger? I'm feeling a bit dizzy or lightheaded now. ## Hello, Carolyn! How are you? Yes, the 50mg tablet is stronger, since the combination medication is only available with 37.5mgs of Tramadol and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am on ocxycodone for pain. I am out but hav an old script for tramadol. How many 50mg tramadol would I have to take for it to balance out to one 10 mg oxycodone? ## Tramadol is much more powerful than many physicians claim it is. Get it filled. It will replace the narcotic effects of the other opiate & common dose is 2tabs at 50mg each. I've been to hell & back with tramadol withdrawals & vice versa with the others for many years; pharmacists all over the country will tell you the truth: one opiate replaces the other when it comes to withdrawals. Period ## Hello, James! How are you? While it does work very well for some people, Tramadol is actually a much weaker opiate, so it would require approximately 150mgs of it to be equal to each 10mg dose of Oxycodone. Of course...

What does this pill look like? ## Hello, Jone! How are you? Did you mean Tramadol? If so, since this is a generic, it is manufactured by several different companies, so there are a few available. Are there any markings on the tablet in question? For example, there is one that is oval, white and has the marking 93 on one side and 58 on the other, another that is oval, white ands the marking R 714 on it, an oblong white one with the making 7171 on one side and an M on the other, then a round, white one with WATSON on one side and 466 on the other.
