I took 4mg of sub's at midnight and another 4 at 8am. This is the first time I've taken it in several months. I did feel the relief from the Hydro also ## I took 4mg of suboxone today @6am & 4mg @12pm. How long till I can take my usual 30mg roxis? I usually take 10-14 30mg roxi/day (2-3 at a time) for severe chronic migraines but ran out for 2 days, hence the subs on 2nd day. But I will get my roxis @4pm. I took 2mg of suboxone yesterday afternoon. It has been a little over 24 hours. I do not use suboxone alot. When will I be able to take an opiate again? ## It's best to leave about 72 hours, between taking Suboxone and another opiate, unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I took 32mgs of suboxone over the course of one day. 14 hours after taking the last 8mg strip, I took a 30mg oxycodone and felt nothing. Repeat at 20 hours, same results, and again at 24 hours, then at 26 hours. I am literally ...

Would a doctor rather write scripts gor pain killers or suboxone? I've been on opiates for 10 yrs as has my husband. He was recently put on suboxone and seems to be doing so much better and I'd like to change as well and have had people tell me that a dr would rather prescribe something like suboxone instead of the strong pain killers that I'm currently on...Tia ## Hello, Melissa! How are you? Some doctors do prefer it, due to the fact that the Naloxone in it helps prevent a patient from being able to abuse other opiates. That's why it's also the preferred medication for addiction treatment, now. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. However, it is entirely up to yo...

This is simple. I've been on suboxone for five years. I'm clean. I took opiates for thirty years. Methadone was the kinky way out and frankly doesn't work for the same reason subutex rarely works. You can still take opiates on top of both. Suboxone has a blocker. It is easy knowing you can't feel high. I still go to therapy and meetings. Beats being deaf. Good luck. ## Hello, Anfy! How are you? Actually, Subutex can still block other opiates from working, so many people do have good luck with it. It contains the active ingredient Buprenorphine, which tends to cling to the opiate receptors in the brain much stronger than most other opiates, so it can also cause precipitated withdrawal, if someone has been taking any recently. The FDA classifies it as an opiate that is mos...

Today is Sunday a I have been taking 1/3 of an 8/mg strip everyday for about 12 days. I have surgery on wed., I'm also Being put to sleep. My question is after I take a third Sunday if I stop completely will I be ok on wed for the surgery and pain mess after ## Hello, Jesse! How are you? There is a chance that the Naloxone in the Suboxone could cause problems with the anesthesia and prevent pain medications from working, after surgery. So, it's very important that you tell the surgeon you're taking it and see how far off from surgery they want you to stop taking it. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, d...

Hi, my name is Rebecca. I have been using opiates for about 3 years now, but I've only been addicted to opiates for a year now. I say opiates but I go back and forth between opiates and suboxone. For the past year I have been using suboxone almost everyday(supplied by boyfriend) and he does it too. Last week my boyfriend and I went through a nasty breakup and he hasn't been giving me anymore suboxone or using it himself either. We were together 5 years and were happy(I'm absolutely devastated.) snd we also LIVE TOGETHER. however, I could go on about what's been going on in the relationship and how upset I have been, and him just going out and partying like nothing happened, but that's not why I'm typing this. So back to last week, we broke up and quit taking subo...

I currently lost my medicaid and am needing help to pay for my suboxone and Dr visit if possible. ## Hello, Rhonda! How are you? I'm sorry, I don't know of any programs that will help with the doctor's visit, however, there is an assistance program for uninsured people to help them get or remain on Suboxone. You can call for more information on how to apply and the requirements, the number is 876-973-HERE. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I regularly take 10-12 mg of Suboxone daily. This month I ran out 3 days early, so I took 80 mg of opiates. Each day I took my last does of opiates at noon, it's now 7 pm. Is it safe to take Suboxone again? I don't want to go in withdrawals but I have always been told Suboxone remains in your system for 3-5 days. If so, is there enough Suboxone in my system so I won't go into withdrawals? ## Hello, David! How are you? It's difficult to gauge, because how long it stays can vary from person to person. It would really be best to wait until you're in full withdrawal, before starting it, again, unless your doctor directs otherwise. 80mgs of opiates is a high amount, so there could be a pretty high risk of precipitated withdrawals, if you take it too soon. The FDA classifi...

Does suboxone help with severe pain? I have had several back surgerys and have severe hip pain. I have been on dr perscribed oxycontin and loritab. Seeing a new dr who only perscribes suboxone. Will I continue to have pain being on this medication? ## Suboxone is mainly prescribed for opiate withdrawall in the states. I,ve read that other countries use it for pain relief. I,ve been prescribed it for opiate withdrawall but have pretty severe leg pain. It does help me with this pain. Some people say it does nothing for pain, I disagree. I have a pill that is supposed to be generic suboxone. On it is 54 on top and 375 on bottom. Nothing on the back. What is this? ## Hello, Rob! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Roxane Laboratories and they list it as being an 8/2mg generic for Suboxone. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I took a small amount of a 2 mg suboxone strip about an hour ago. I didn't want to take it, but my friend is one of those pushy types who insisted. It was roughly between 1-2 milligrams... I went in my bedroom and spit into a cup for a few minutes without him knowing. If i take a little Roxy for my back problems in an hour or so, will I feel it? Thanks ## Hello, Marcus! How are you? Giving into peer pressure can be very dangerous. Really, you've no way of knowing if what they're giving you is actually what they claim it is, they could be giving you something very dangerous. Suboxone is also listed by the FDA as containing Buprenorphine and Naloxone, so it is very potent and most commonly used to treat drug addiction. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to b...

Hello all. I am a 22 year old mama to a 10 month old baby. I desperately need to get off opiates.. I mean, my situation pales in comparison to some...but withdrawals are withdrawals all the same. I'm hoping for some helpful advice and tips! I've only been addicted to opiates for about 9 months. I got tabs from my OB after birth, then my boyfriend starting getting tabs, Percs, oxy, roxy....from friends, not prescribed :/ only taking about 30-60 mg a day. Not as bad as some but quitting cold turkey really kills me! Not only am I a mother I am a young professional as well with a great job. I actually just got a raise sooo definitely can't let them down by missing work to detox, besides that I have a wonderful baby who requires and deserves my full attention and I want the energ...

I've been abusing vicodin and percocet for over 7 years. I'm fed up with it all, but terrified BEYOND TERRIFIED of telling my doctor about it, for fear of losing my kids. I turned to a friend who takes Suboxone and she is helping me enormously......I'm on day 4 of only 4 mg per day. Anyone know if I go through the "proper channels" if I will lose my kids over this? I'd much rather be doing it under a doctor's care, but my friend helping me was pretty blunt and said that she had to LIE about the amount she was taking in order to get help in the first place. I've tried cold turkey many times and got scared to death when it lasted for more than a week...normally withdrawals were only lasting me a few days. I'm in over my head, and trying everything in my...

I was prescribed opiate painkillers for 5 years. I gradually became totally addicted to the point that while these drugs ( Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Oxycontin and others) worked well for their intended purpose, the 'good feeling" they gave me became the focal point of my life. The unavoidable physical and psychological dependence eventually led to serious and harmful consequences- damaged or ruined relationships (divorce in my case) with people who were now less important than the drugs. Responsibilities and interests I had fell by the wayside. Although I have a legitimate need for pain relief due to nerve damage caused by disease, the doctor saw that I was abusing the drugs- taking too much and using them to get high- and cut me off. The withdrawal symptoms were horrific. I went ...

Please let me know what this pill Is. It's Orange with 153 on one. The other side has a half moon. What is this? ## Hello, Tracy! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by Actavis and they list it as being an 8mg sublingual Buprenorphine tablet, so it's a generic for Subutex, which doesn't contain the Naloxone that Suboxone does. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Hi all, I'm desperately seeking advice. I have decided to come off opiates. I had my last little bit at around 1pm today. The problem is, I have two young babies so it's impossible for me to look after them while in bad withdrawals. The only thing I have to help is Suboxone. Can someone tell me the best way to use the Suboxone to stop/ease the withdrawals? I know I will have to suffer to a certain extent and I understand that I have to wait a while before taking my subs but, please give me the best, most painless way to do this, keeping in mind that I have a two year old and a four month old baby boy whom I still have to take care of on my own while doing this. Please help. ## Getting into a rehab program is the best, but I understand your situation. Try using Kratom. There are ...

If you require Suboxone for addiction treatment, you can use the search engine on their website to find doctors in your area that treat with it. You can find it at Suboxone.com click here and you can search by zip code. The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I took an 8mg suboxone strip this morning around 8 am and im still in withdrawal and it is now 5:30. Can i take a oxycodone without throwing myself into hard withdrawal? I had different people tell me different things. ## Hi tara, Timing is really going to vary for each individual, so that's probably why you keep hearing different feedback. However my opinion based on the reviews I'm seeing here on MedsChat is that it might be a good idea to wait at least a few days after taking the Subuxone before having an opiate like Oxycodone. I think this is largely due to Buprenorphine's long half life of 24 - 60 hours, as reported by samhsa.gov. So as long as the Suboxone is still active in your body, that seems to me like the best way to determine whether it's ok take Oxycodone o...

Everyone, granted, has a different body and brain chemistry so no one patient can be held up as the shining example of "How Everyone Can Move Off Suboxone Withdrawal-Free" (in ten easy lessons). Every story is unique. Having said that, I would really appreciate getting data from those of you who (like me) have been on some form of opiate usage for 20 years and who is currently going through weaning himself off the suboxone over a two month period. This is after three years of replacement therapy approved by the VA. What's YOUR story? Anyone have happy endings they want to share? Any cautionary tales of coming off suboxone too fast? Lay it on me! ## If it's of any help I went ahead posted a link below to one of the other discussion threads here relating to Suboxone. Maybe...
