I would like to know if naproxen 500mg is a muscle relaxer. I'm taking it but my work place says I cannot work with it in my system ## Hello, Rachelle! How are you? No, the FDA and NIH classify it as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory, it's most commonly used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach irritation, and increased risk of bleeding. This is not one that most companies worry about someone taking, but policies may vary and they are allowed to restrict whatever they deem appropriate. Can I take tizanidine and naproxen at the same time? It's my muscle relaxer and the naproxen is for my menstrual cramps. ## I didn't find any interactions listed, but it is always best to double check to be safe. However, I can tell you that they are often prescribed together to treat pain, and muscle spasms. The FDA warns that you may experience more severe side effects than usual, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, dry mouth, and stomach upset. The Naproxen can also cause an increased risk of bleeding. Are these the only medications you take?

My doctor just started me on a round of steroids. She said not to take my naproxin with it. Forgot to ask if I can take my flexerol with it. Can I do that ? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Yes, that should be fine, as long as your doctor approves. The reason she told you to skip the Naproxen is because it and Prednisone both increased the toxicity of each other, which could result in overdose issues. The FDA lists the typical side effects for Prednisone as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, acne, fluid retention and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a large, very painful hemangioma on my S1. I have been given hydrocodone-acetaminophen 10-325,ibuphrophen 800 mg, gabapentin, 300 mg and Tizanidine 4 mg which helps. Over the weekend, I have run out of Tizanidine and am in a lot of pain, also the sciatica is the worst. I was wondering if I could take naproxyn 500 mg to see me through the two days. ## Can Naproxyn be taken instead of Tizanidine? ## Naproxen is an anti-inflammatory and should Not be taken if you're taking ibuprofen or another anti-inflammatory drugs. Tizanidine is a muscle relaxer. ## @Shirley, If you're considering an alternative to the Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) for those times when you run out, I think it might be a good idea to look into research on effective doses of Valerian root which is also revere...

What are the best anti-inflammatories that work on intestinal pain? Please list the brand names of these medications and rate them according to their efficacy (effectiveness). ## Unfortunately the only way to find out what works best for you and what doesn't is through the process of trial and error and working with your doctor. There may be meds that are stronger or more effective than others in eliminating the pain, but if it causes too many side effects then what good will it do in the long run? Trial and error will help you narrow down your preferences. small circle shaped with GG 724 on one side and nothing on the other side ## I was just wondering if this pill is a muscle relaxer or if it is a high dose of valium? ## Actually, it is NEITHER of those choices. This is Naproxen Sodium 250mgs, a prescription strength of the same stuff you will find in Aleve or its generic equivelents, but a little stronger of a dosage. It is a generic for Naprosyn, so it is neither a muscle relaxer nor a Valium, nothing related to either of the two. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, same class as Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Etodola, Diclofenac and others. Here's an pill image to confirm: Pill Image Click Here So if someone told you that is what it was, or sold or gave it as such, they were definitely incorrect. It is nothing of the sort, i...
