My doctor said I have to avoid all opioids and narcotics due to problems urinating. Recently I increased the amount of lidocaine cream that I use for pain control on my feet, and have had difficulty urinating. Can there be a cause and effect, or is it just coincidence? ## When used topically, according to FDA reports, you usually don't absorb enough for it to cause many internal side effects, usually they are just topical side effects that can include skin redness, irritation, and flaking. If you've been having problems urinating, it could just be another flare up of that, though it is hard to say, and only your care provider can give you a definitive answer. Are you male? If so, have you had a recent prostate check? Prostate enlargement is a frequent issue that causes urinary p...

Terrible hip pain from Arthritis. Taking 90 ml methadone liquid for over 13 yrs. Nothing can help pain due to methadone tolerance is so high. Friend gave me a Butran patch 15mcg/per hour, but after reading online advice I'm afraid of going into severe withdrawal of the methadone. I understand these two together will not work, but rather cause me great problems. I've tried Norco, Oxy-cordone, Percaset, n Ibprofin 800mg. If anything, the ibprofin 800 helped slightly, but nothing else even fazed my pain at all. I'm now seeing a pain management Dr. who has prescribed me lidocaine patches, and some type of non-narcotic inflammatory patches. I am waiting already over two weeks for him to pre-authorize these patches, so don't know if they will help my pain. Does anyone know of ...

I've tried prescription, opiates, narcotics, homeopathic, pelvic pain pilates n yoga. NOTHING RELIEVES MY PAIN AND I DO NOT LIKE THE MENTAL EFFECTS. I take Valium 20 mg a day 1200 gabapentin a day and 8 mg of dialudid when the aleve doesn't cut it but s...

I have been on narco 5 for awhile but they are not helping and I have been on Percocet in the past. I hate taking pills and was wondering which patch would be good for me to use.. I have been on lidocaine and flector which neither helps do to pain is through my whole body... doctors are saying lupus, cancer, endometriosis, 3 different arthritis, permanent nerve damage (neck, spine, and hands which they said carpal tunnel) and fibromyalgia. I've been seeing doctors all my life and need the pain to stop. ## There are Fentanyl patches, it is a very potent narcotic, another option would be patches that contain Suboxone. Both are opiate narcotics that carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anythin...

Is there a Dr in the Boston Area? Part of my problem is 2004 I had Gastric Bypass so my absorption rate is off. I only get half of the meds into my system. Lidocaine patch is useless! I need a REAL LEGIT DR not some pill mill. Please any help is appreciated! Thank You So Much! ## Do you currently have a GP that could refer you somewhere? If so, that would likely be the best way to get in to see someone and get help in your area. Due to the new regulations that were put in place as of April 1st, things have gotten really crazy on the east coast and it's very hard for most to get proper pain treatment. As to a medication that may help and not be impeded by your bypass surgery, there is a patch that uses the narcotic Fentanyl, it is time released slowly over a period of 3 days, so it i...
