Insulin Weight Gain

avandia would cause weight gain. why and how? well, it increases the bodies sensitivity to insulin!! if this happens your body will 'tell' the liver and muscle cells to take in glucose and store it in the form of glycogen, and causing fat cells to take in blood lipids and turn them into triglycerides. I hope this helps, Ive tried to make a rather complicated subject more user friendly lol ## It is not wise to take avandia with any form of insulin or nitrates!!!!!! and IF rapid wieght gain occurs seek medical advise asap!

Hi, I'm on an insulin pump gained weight , can I use Jardiance with an insulin pump? My doctor put me in samples of Sanjardy and gave me a script. Insurance won't pay for it, but will pay for Jardiance. Since the pump delivers insulin automatically through out the day is it safe ## It is usually best to follow your doctor's instructions. The dosage in your pump can always be adjusted, if necessary. The FDA warns that these medications may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and diarrhea. Have you started taking it, yet? If so, how are you doing? ## I have an insulin pump and have been on 10mg for about a month with the need to adjust my basal down on my pump and cut my night time bolus in half. Does metformin cause its users to loose weight besides controlling their blood glucose levels? ## Hello, Missy! How are you? It can help with weight loss, since it improves the body's use of insulin. It is sometimes given to women with PCOS/PCOD, since it can help with their weight gain and improve their condition. However, it shouldn't be used for weight loss, unless your doctor has specifically instructed you to do so. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, flatulence, stomach pain and hypoglycemia. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started using metformin last year due to PCOS, I became insulin resistant. Hot flashes, nausea, headaches, diarrhea(if I eat the wrong things) and sleepiness at times have been the side effects that I've experienced. I take 500 mg daily and I would hate to stop taking them because they have assisted in helping me manage my weight. I was wearing anywhere between a size 6 and 8 before I became insulin resistant but when I began to gain weight I went up to a size 14 and exercise/healthy eating was helping very little. Since I've been on the metformin I have dropped down to a size 10 and of course it takes consistently working hard at it and eating right. Are there other alternatives to keep the insulin levels in control so that I can continue to lose weight if I stop taking the m...

Is it possible to get a prescription for Metforman/glucophage online or to find it online? I am worried, because I have been gaining weight rapidly this past year. I am morbidly obese, and my doctors will not help me because my A1c was only 5.5. I am worried about type 2 diabetes, and I think my A1c is high enough that medicine may benefit me, even though I am technically not diabetic yet. I have read about diabetics who get their A1c below 5.5 with metformin, and there seem to be no adverse affects even when they continue taking the medicine at these levels. I am also having problems with ovulation and was recently diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia, a condition associated with insulin resistance. I have been struggling to conceive for three years now. Ultrasound shows no evidence ...
