I Just Took Morphine And What Would A Suboxone Do

I have been using 1 mg of suboxone once in the late morning for the past 3-4 days while waiting for a refill on my 30mg morphine tabs. I took a dose of the suboxone around 10:38 this morning, so the question is: will I be okay to take a dose of my morphine around 6:30 this evening? It will have been about 8 hours. ## Hello, Sasha! how long dose it keep pain away? I was given this by the doctor but i'm prescribed suboxone 8mg. Doesn't that defeat the purpose and will it hurt me if I mix the two? I've been taking 40gs of long acting and 240 of short acting daily for several years. The last month before converting to suboxone I tapered down. 12 hours after my last dose of long acting morphine it took 8mg of suboxone and started a3x a day 8ng of suboxone. I feel great. No side effects except 1st day had a bad headache. ## Wow! Those were very high dosages, so I'm glad that the transition went so smoothly for you. I took one 8mg/2mg sublingual suboxone strip yesterday, breaking it up into quarters. I took the last quarter of the strip around midnight. Will it still be a full 72 hours before 50mg morphine will effect me? ## Yes, otherwise the Naloxone will block the effects of the Morphine. I have taken 8 mg of suboxone for the past 2 days, the last time being last night around 8pm. I just received a prescription for 60 mg morphine for a back procedure and am hoping to be able to take it by tomorrow night. The doctor told me since I only took it for a few days that's all I should have to wait (although I sure felt the shot they gave me!) I take my suboxone orally but I took the morphine intravenously - are there any drug interactions? ## It depends, was the morphine a one time thing or have you been taking it more? You usually want to wait until you are feeling active withdrawal symptoms from the morphine BEFORE you take the suboxone or you can have precipitated withdrawal symptoms which are FAR Worse.

I was previously on suboxone for three years and relapsed on morphine for about three days now and want to start my suboxone back up, but I'm not sure when to take it. My doctor has me on 130 milligrams a day and I want off of it all. I'm down to about 90 to 100 milligrams now. I have been taking 60mg of Morphine daily for a year. This past week I took 3-4 8mg Dilaudids daily. Last night I went back to 60 mg Morphine.
