is there a pain medication with ibuprofen that is stronger than the acetaminophen? ## Hello, Deloris! How are you? Yes, there is one called Vicoprofen that's available as the name brand and generic that contains Ibuprofen, rather than Acetaminophen. It isn't necessarily stronger, but it does work better for some people. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ...

Does Lortab make a 10/325? My Doc changed my lortab 10/500 to norco10/325. Norco is a different medicine, making me really tired. everyone keeps saying its the same as Lortab. I STRONGLY disagree. help ## Hi, I'm on pain management & have taken Lortab then Norco for years. Norco is the same as Lortab with 325 mg of acetaminophen instead of 500 mg. My doctor changed mine as well due to the affects on the liver. I understand the hesitation. When he changed mine I wasn't thrilled either, but I'm a creature of habit & dislike change in routines. I'm uncomfortable when my generics are from another company & look different than I normally take. I promise, it's the same 10 mg of hydrocodone. Both Lortab & Norco contain the same active ingredients: acetaminop... ...

i do not get relief from this pain medicine, what is the deal ## Hi baby, Unfortunately when it comes to choosing an appropriate pain medication, there's a lot of room for trial and error. If your body is accustomed to another manufacturer's versions of this, then its ineffectiveness may be attributed to the different binders/fillers that are being used in this particular tablet versus others. That's my theory anyways, given that nothing else is changed on the label when you switch between different manufacturer's brands/generics. The only thing I'd encourage patients to do in light of this, is to kindly ask the doctor to be more descriptive on the prescription he/she writes, in order to pick out a specific manufacturer that you feel works best from past personal exp... ...

I AM VERY ALLERGIC TO NORCO AND THE BOTTLE READS MFG WATSON AND THE PILL IS WHITE OVAL WITH SCORE ACROSS CENTER ON ONE SIDE AND WATSON 3203 ON THE OTHER. IS THIS THE TRUE LORTAB? I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY TROUBLE WITH PLAIN OLD LORTAB SO HOPE THIS IS NOT A GENERIC. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. ## WATSON 3203 contains Hydrocodone 7.5 mg/Acetaminophen 325 mg. Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen are both in Lortab. Lortab is the Brand Name. ## Yes, the ones with the WATSON 3203 marking on them are a generic, just as BL has stated. The name brand Lortab uses the ucb logo on them, with numbers on the opposite sides. Learn more Lortab details here. But these are the same ingredients that are in Norco, so if you're allergic to one, you should also be allergic to Lortab, Vicodin and the generics. What typ... ...

What is the difference between hydocodone 7.5 325 and norco I understand norco has a lesser strength. Both are generic for vicadin so why would a dr change it from hydrocodone to norco if its exactly the same thing. Iget a different result from norco but not hydrocodone. why is that. I cant take norco. dont make sense to me. I have chronic pain. Why would a dr change it to norco if exact the same thing. Can you explain this to me please? Thank you kindly ## Hi Rosee, Just to confirm, Hydrocodone 7.5/325 ALSO CONTAINS "ACETAMINOPHEN". That's where the 325mg comes into play on the label. So to be clear, it contains 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone + 325mgs of Acetaminophen. A few other pointers I want to touch on in response to some statements made in your post: - Norco is simply a brand... ...

Is Lortab the brand name for hydrocodone7.5/325?....or is it Norco, Vicodin, or what? ## The one with 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen would be a generic for Norco, it's the only name brand that has that strength available. However, in most cases they are all just used interchangeable, as long as the medication contains those 2 active ingredients, so you may hear or see it being referred to as any one of the 3. Learn more Norco details here. Many doctors just write the prescriptions as Vicodin and then designate the dosage, because the pharmacy will dispense the correct ones and disregard that they may have used the wrong brand name. Is this pill consider Norco and dose it work as good as the watson ## Hi JoAnn, To answer your first question, Hydrocodone bitartrate + APAP is a generic for brand name Norco. The APAP is simply an abbreviation for Acetaminophen. In terms of how it compares to the Watson (Actavis) formula, this is something that can only be determined by you since everyone is affected different by the same medication(s). Not only that, but you didn't actually list what manufacturer makes your pill, so there is no feasible way to compare it to another manufacturer? ...

They only manufacture over the counter drugs, which are sold across the US as various store brands and generics. Does anyone experience itching of the throat when taking this medication. Just my throat itches, I do not have an itching sensation anywhere else. Nor do I have a rash or hives. I am prescribed 2 5/325 pills every 4-6 hours for pain caused by ovarian cysts. I have taken this medication in the past without any issues. Is it possible that I have developed an allergy to codeine? ## Have you consulted your doctor? It contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, not Codeine. However, if that is the only symptom you're having, it doesn't sound like an allergy, but you should contact your doctor to be sure. This is a generic medication, the name brand is actually Vicodin, or Norco, so you might be taking one made by a different manufacturer, than you did previously. Thus, there may be diffe... ...

Qualist manufacturer has a pill that states it to be a 5/325 the reads reads v 3604. To my knowledge I thought anything with the # 325 in it is usually a norco ## Hello, Reb! How are you? The V doesn't stand for what the tablet contains, that is just the manufacturers logo, so having a V on it does not make it Vicodin. The V stands for Vintage Pharmaceuticals, they were purchased by Qualitest several years ago and there are many pills with the V logo that don't contain narcotics of any type. Additionally, Norco is just a name brand for a certain combination of Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone….while it was originally ones that just contained 325mgs of Acetaminophen, with several doses of the Hydrocodone, since it is available as a generic now, they are pretty much all just us... ...

white small oblong ip110 norco. why it doesn't work as good as watson? ## This tablet contains 325mgs of Acetaminophen and 10mgs of Hydrocodone, a generic for Norco. This tablet is made by Interpharm. As to why it may not work as well as the ones made by Watson, well, it is a generic version of the drug. I know when you are given a generic or read the information pamphlets about them, you are told that they are exactly the same as their name brand counterparts, however, this is done to try to prevent people from being afraid to take needed medications. The truth however, is quite different. Under federal law, generics are allowed to differ in the active ingredient from their name brand counterparst by as much as PLUS OR MINUS 20%. The FDA considers this an allowable differential tha... ...

If this oblong white pill you have embossed M360, on the other side has a score mark in the center of the pill, that matches the generic version of Vicodin ES brand. The mfg is Mallinckrodt Inc., 675 McDonnell Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63134. Moderately popular C-III mixture, of hydrocodone 7.5 mg and 750 mg. of acetaminophen, especially during the era 2005, 2006, 2007. "I am clueless if Mallinckrodt still manufactures hydrocodone this year 2012" If the M360 you have "does not have a score mark, on the back side, I would question, the source, the authenticity, of that particular pill". The often referred to "Mallies" were once among the industry generic leaders of 5/325, 5/500, and the 5/750 generic forms of Vicodin vs. the brand during those yrs, "brand being mad... ...

Difference between 5/325 and 5/325 APAP
2 Replies RSS
I was prescribed hydrocodone 5/325 APAP and now I'm prescribed 5/325. No APAP on the bottle. It seems it's not as strong. Is there difference ? ## There is no difference. Apap is short for Acetaminophen . ## @Viking, BL is correct, there is no difference in the name. However the difference in strength that you're noticing could very well be attributed to the different set of inactive ingredients used in each manufacturer's version of this medication; since they have been proven to affect overall bioavailability. Additionally, when it comes to generic meds (such as this one), rumor has it that the FDA permits manufacturers to have a leeway of plus or minus 20% in peak plasma concentrations, compared to brand names. This may mean that there are only 4 active milligrams out... ...

Norco and Lortab are both name brands for a medication that contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, so it it really doesn't matter which one your pharmacy lists on the label, they have still provided you with the correct medication. The tablet you've received is manufactured by Amneal Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen.
