I HAVE USED THIS MEDICATION FOR SEVERE PAIN. AS OF 2014 THEY WILL NO LONGER COVER THIS DRUG. WHAT WOULD WOULD BE THE SAME AS THIS DRUG THAT THEY MAY COVER? GENERIC IF POSSIBLE. ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? Who will no longer cover it, your insurance company? If so, you may want to ask them what they will cover, or ask your pharmacist. Without knowing your insurance carrier, everyone else can really only make random guesses.

My daughter has been taking hydrocodone 5/325 every 4 hrs since Thurs afternoon. 24 hrs ago, her dr moved it to every 6 hrs, and she took her last one at 615pm last night (it's now 1250a). Can you switch to extra strength, OTC acetaminophen now (500mg tabs)? Or should we wait longer after her last hydrocodone dose? Please advise. Thank you! ## You can take up to 3000mg of acetaminophen in a 24hr period. Anymore than that should be under a doctor's care/advice. ## According to the FDA, their 'liver warning' goes by a maximum daily dosage of 4,000 mg within a 24-hour period. This is not to say that you shouldn't consult with your doctor first, but it should allow for substantial flexibility in your dosing. If you're currently taking 1300mgs a day (325mgs four times...

White oblong pill blank on one side, 906 on the other side. Is it hydrocodone/acetaminophen? ## No, a tablet meeting this description, with this marking contains 300mgs of Quetiapine, which is an atypical antipsychotic that's often used to treat bipolar disorder and depression. Learn more Quetiapine details here. Why did you think it was a narcotic?

How often should Hydrocodone 5-300 be taken for someone weighing 170 pounds? I am taking it every 6 hours for back pain. ## Hello, Terry! How are you? You should follow the dosing instructions provided by your doctor, it is usually taken every 4 to 6 hours. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. why would the price of hydrocordon acetiminiphen 5-300 be more than 5-500 ## Hi, Martha! The price may be higher due to several factors, such as being made by a different manufacturer, or if you would be prescribed more of the one that you would be of other. Learn more Vicodin details here. It isn't always the dosage that affects the price of a prescription drug. Which has been prescribed for you? ## I'm amazed at the prices I'm seeing. I have hydrocodone 5/500. I got 30 tablets from Walmart for 25 cents each! No insurance. These price differences are crazy. But I can see how the 10mg ones would be double that price because the non-acetaminophren part (the Hydrocodone itself) is the narcotic, but more than $1 a pill just doesn't seem right.

I am super scared... I have taken a total of 17 hydrocodone 10/300 today. I read (afterward) that 90mg of hydrocone is lethal. I have tried to make myself vomit to get the last pills out, but I cant tell if what is coming up is a dissolved pill or just mucus. I dont want to die!! I dont know what to do. Going to a hospital is not an option, I have children sleeping & no one tp watch them..... ## Hey I'm here :/ ## You need to get checked out for side effects of taking too much Acetaminophen/Tylenol. Anything over 4,000 in a 24 hr period can be toxic. You won't immediately feel the side effects of this, but you do need to get checked out. ## To the user who started this thread, I strongly agree with post #2 in that you should get your levels checked to make sure you don't...

price paid at walmart pharmacy for 30 hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-300 mg tabs $61.08!!! ## @bushel, From your wording I can't begin to tell if you are excited or angry at the notion of paying $61.08 for 30 tabs. Is this how much a script of 30 generic Vicodin tabs usually goes for at your local pharmacy? There are a number of pharmacy price checkers that can be found on Google if you ever feel the need to compare prices from different pharmacies in your general area. I hope this helps! ## CVS is about $20. Ask for cash discount programs.

5/300 is 1/3 the price of 5/325 of hydrocodone acetaminophen at the pharmacy. Does the pain relief compare and is it worth the difference in price? We are talking $13 versus $38 for 25 mg difference. ## It's possible they have already raised the price with hydrocodone combinations meds becoming a Schedule II meds Oct 6, 2014. Everything from manufacturing to dispensing had to have tighter security and the cost has to be passed on to the customer. ## Hello, Debra! How are you? It really depends on how well it works for you. If you don't take this all the time, then you'll likely get adequate relief from the 5/300, though I don't show a listing for that dosage being available, so it would be best to double check with your pharmacy. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has t...

I have been taking hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-325 TB FOR YEARS FOR CHRONIC PAIN. When I just picked up my most recent prescription the pharmacy substituted Hydrocodone/ Acetaminophen 5-300 TB. WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TWO MEDICATIONS? Are there different side effects, and how might they manage my pain differently? ## From what you've listed, the only difference is the dosage of Acetaminophen that each contains, one contains 325mgs and the the other contains 300mgs of it. How is it working for you? What are the markings on the tablets? The FDA warns the Hydrocodone carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

which is more potent hydrocodone-acetaminophen (5-325) or Acetaminophen/cod 3 (300/30mg)? ## Milligram for milligram, hydrocodone is reported to be significantly more potent than codeine. So even with the difference in milligrams I'm going to have to assume that the generic norco you have may be more potent from what I've read online. While everyone's experience may be different, I have also seen comments from patients who've tried both and feel that "10mgs" of hydrocodone far exceeds the potency of "60mgs" of codeine. Though that may not be as accurate for someone else with a different tolerance, it does go to show that hydrocodone is superior and probably shouldn't ever be substituted for codeine in that sense. Is your doctor recommending that you t...

I have two different drugs given for two different dental surgeries. The first one, the 7.5-300 says to take every 6-8 hours so I thought it was the stronger of the two. The other one says to take every 4-6 hours. Which of these drugs is really stronger? I want to take the stronger one at night so I can sleep and the weaker one during the day so I can be more alert. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? I'm happy to help you with this. The one with the Hydrocodone in it is stronger, Codeine is actually weak comparatively. It's 30mgs in the one is only equivalent to 4.5mgs of the Hydrocodone. The FDA classifies this as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I am trying to find out how many Tylenol codein 300-30 I would need to take to be equilivant to Norco 10-325 ? I have had a different prescription and I want to make sure I am not over doing the codein ## Hello, Ruth! How are you? Each 30mgs of Codeine is equivalent to 4.5mgs of the Hydrocodone, so taking one Norco 10/325 is actually over twice as strong. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I work in a surgical practice and today we were told by a pharmacy that this formulation is no longer available? We thought that a few years ago the FDA mandated that the level of Acetaminophen be reduced ## Yes, it was mandated that the amount of Acetaminophen in combination prescription medications be lowered to no more than 325mgs per dose, the FDA put this regulation in place a few years ago. But with just the 300mgs, the only one currently listed as still being available is 10/300mg. However, there is a 7.5/325mg dosage available. I had that happen a couple months ago, when my doctor prescribed it. I had to wait for the pharmacy to reach her and authorize the 325mg dosage, before I could pick up my prescription. This medication is classified as a narcotic analgesic, so it carries t...

300-30mg acetaminophen code in vs 5-325mg hydrocodone with acetaminophen no story please just need to know which is stronger, thank you! ## Hello, Cynthia! How are you? I'm happy to help you with this question. Compared to the opiates that were derived much later, Codeine is very mild. For example, according to the opioid converter provided by Global, it takes 33.33mgs of Codeine to be equivalent to each 5mgs of Hydrocodone. Thus, while it may not look like it, if you go by the dosage numbers, Hydrocodone is actually much stronger than Codeine. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. are Lortabs still in use? My pharmicist said they were no longer made. ## The FDA has asked dr to no longer prescribe it with 500 mg acetaminophen but instead to use the mandated reduced 325 mg acetaminophen. The FDA has also asked pharmacists to contact the drs if a rx is written for the 500 mg before filling it. The hydrocodone and acetaminophen (Lortab, Vicodin, Norco) are still made. But, the amount of acetaminophen has been reduced. ## So can you take a Tylenol to get the same results since they lowered it to 325? I'm so used to the 500 and it just isn't the same ## Talk to your dr first. Is it unusual for a pharmacy not to carry the 300mg version of Acetaminophen + Hydrocodone? My Dr. that usually writes a script does it for Acetaminophen 325mg + Hydrocodone 7.5mg and this script is for the 300mg version. ## No given pharmacy is under any obligation to carry any given medication in any specific dosage. Is it possible that your doctor meant to write for 325, rather than 300, with the 7.5? Have you tried contacting them to ask? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.
