Is it really norco? I just got my refill today and they are not working as well as my previous prescription. ## Hi Yaya, My research from the manufacturer depicts a white oval tablet marked with 2172 to be identified as a generic Hydrocodone Bitartrate 5mg + Acetaminophen 325mg pill. For verification, it carries a National Drug Code of 0591-2172 and is reportedly a product of Actavis Pharmaceuticals that from what I could gather, seems like a newer generic tablet since information about it is relatively sparse on the internet. Hope this helps! ## I have the exact same problem ! The ones with the 2172 do not work the same as the 3604 did . How is this even possible ? Or is it. Are they exactly the same ?

I am allergic to morphine, Demerol and codeine. I itched all over my head and ears when taking a hydrocodone/acetemetephine yesterday. Am I allergic to hydro now? ## Hello, Carol! How are you doing? Has there been any change? It is common for someone that's allergic to one medication to discover the are also allergic to others, according to reports by the FDA. Thus, it would be best to have this checked out, those could be symptoms of an allergic reaction, and if they are, they could get worse with repeated exposure, according to NIH studies. Is there anything else I can help with?

No, the active ingredients are exactly what you listed, Hydrocodone with Acetaminophen. According to the FDA, this is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. There is a slight chance that you could also have an allergic reaction to another narcotic, but there's no way to know other than trying it. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Yes hydrocodone has codeine in it, if you're allergic to codeine I would refrain from using this opiate ## shirley schaschl, it is always best to discuss drug allergies wi...

I'm allergic to codeine. Does it contain codeine? ## The active ingredients are exactly what you listed, Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen, the Hydrocodone is a narcotic. It is distantly related to codeine, so in some instances people that are allergic to one are allergic to the other, but that is very rare. Learn more Vicodin details here. Did you inform the doctor that you are allergic to Codeine? Does your pharmacy know, so they have it in your records?

Have never seen one like this before. ## I am also in the same confusion whereas I have received the same pill white oval pill imprint 2127, sorry I cant help but it would be great if someone would ..lol..somebody plz help , my cat is curios af !! ## @Carlo & Hydrizzlecone, What you guys have there is actually a new version of generic hydrocodone 5mg + acetaminophen 325mg (made by Actavis). It is the real deal, however I've recently read some complaints here about it not being nearly as effective as other brands. I say, 'to each their own in' that regard, since everyone responds differently... But I hope this helps add some clarity to the confusion. Also for verification, the pill itsel...

I am trying to find out how many Tylenol codein 300-30 I would need to take to be equilivant to Norco 10-325 ? I have had a different prescription and I want to make sure I am not over doing the codein ## Hello, Ruth! How are you? Each 30mgs of Codeine is equivalent to 4.5mgs of the Hydrocodone, so taking one Norco 10/325 is actually over twice as strong. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

300-30mg acetaminophen code in vs 5-325mg hydrocodone with acetaminophen no story please just need to know which is stronger, thank you! ## Hello, Cynthia! How are you? I'm happy to help you with this question. Compared to the opiates that were derived much later, Codeine is very mild. For example, according to the opioid converter provided by Global, it takes 33.33mgs of Codeine to be equivalent to each 5mgs of Hydrocodone. Thus, while it may not look like it, if you go by the dosage numbers, Hydrocodone is actually much stronger than Codeine. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Anyone know? confused about it. ## 10mg hydrocodone with 500mg of acetaminphen ## Hydrocodone is similar to codiene, but the two drugs are both different from each other. ## That is correct, there is no Codeine in this, the active narcotic in this medication is the Hydrocodone, 10/500 means it contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 500mgs of Acetaminophen, this is a generic for Vicodin. I just took tylenol with codeine4 for tooth pain. but pain still there what else can I take can i take ibuprofen 200mg ## Hello, Doodle! How are you doing? I'm sorry about the pain you're experiencing. Codeine is actually a very mild opiate, so it doesn't work for everyone that takes it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between it and Ibuprofen, so that should be fine, as long as your doctor or dentist approves. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have two different drugs given for two different dental surgeries. The first one, the 7.5-300 says to take every 6-8 hours so I thought it was the stronger of the two. The other one says to take every 4-6 hours. Which of these drugs is really stronger? I want to take the stronger one at night so I can sleep and the weaker one during the day so I can be more alert. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? I'm happy to help you with this. The one with the Hydrocodone in it is stronger, Codeine is actually weak comparatively. It's 30mgs in the one is only equivalent to 4.5mgs of the Hydrocodone. long slender oblong tablet color white imprint k30 on one side. smooth on other side. pain medication ## This is NOT Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen! This is 500mgs of Acetaminophen by itself, no narcotics. This is a generic or store brand of extra strength tylenol. ## Just an additional note, depending on where you looked you may have seen K30 listed as a narcotic because there used to be a small round codeine tablet with that marking but it has been discontinued and is no longer available. Caplet shaped pills with K30 are just Acetaminophen.

Im wondering why I would be able to take darvacett & percocetts but I cant take vicodin. Arent theese medications all the same? Would the fact that I have a codeine allergy make a difference? Thanks. ## They are all opiate medications, but not all the same. Darvocet, which is no longer available contained Acetaminophen and Propoxyphene, Percocet contains Oxycodone and Acetaminophen, while Vicodin contains Hydrocodone and Acetaminophen. What problem do you experience, when you take Vicodin? Some work better for some people than others and some do cause more or worse side effects in some people, it really just depends on your body chemistry. That's why there are usually several options available in any given therapeutic category. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic an...

Is this pill 5 mg or 10mg? And what does the 3604 stand for? ## Hello, Doc! How are you? The white, oblong tablet with the red specks that has the marking 3604 V on it contains 5mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. And according to law, all manufactured prescription tablets must have unique markings to enable their identification, in case of an emergency, so any given pill can be traced by to a specific manufacturer. That's what the 3604 V is, it's just the code that Vintage/Qualitest has chosen to use on this pill to identify it as their product. Is there anything else I can help with?

If I have bad side effects from Tylonel 3 & 4 how might hydrocodone with Acetaminophen 5-325 affect me? ## Hello, Zala! How are you? What type of side effects did you have from it? The Hydrocodone is a another narcotic that is related to Codeine, so you may also experience side effects from it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## the side effects I had to Tylonel 2,3 & 4 is severe nausia, vomiting and intense headaches and the tylonel 4 actually gives hillucinations as well. Which is easier on body? Tylenol 3 or hydroco/acetaminop 5-325 ## Hello, Hunter! How are you? Since they both contain Acetaminophen, neither is really any easier on the body, they both carry the same risks of possibly causing liver damage. As to pain relief, the Hydrocodone is far more potent and effective than the Codeine in the Tylenol 3. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
