My wife has been taking hydrocodone for about 2 weeks, her pain has increased to the level of a 10 and the meds only stop pain about 30 minutes out of the 4 hour period. Her doctor is afraid and refuses to up hydrocodone (I think due to new laws) to give her a higher dose. I went so far as to take her to emergency ward yesterday where she was given dilaudid which seem to have broken the cycle temporarily and she felt OK for rest of day on normal dose of hydrocodone. Her doctor is setting her up with a pain specialist but due to heavy scheduling is like 2 to 3 months away. Question.... Since I can not afford the emergency room every day or two, how much hydrocodone can she safely take during that period until she can finally see a pain doctor? We are in the mean time trying to find out w...

I have relocated to the Auburn, Calif. area and am in dire need of a doctor who will pick up where my Florida pain management specialist - fellowship - left off. I need certain procedures done, such as heat ablasion every 6 months. I have been on 10-350mg Hydrocodone for 7 years after a fall backwards from steps onto cement, which resulted in a coma, 9 days in the hospital learning to walk after 4 vertebroplasties. I have degenerative disc disease, degenerative severe osteoarthritis, 2 lumbars touching, and much more! I am a senior, and was reduced from 4 pills a day, like everyone else, to 3. The 4 just took the edge off the pain. I need these to WALK and have a semi-normal life. They work for me! I feel nothing else from these pills and am so against the new legislation. The rule-makers

I have severe back pain from 2 herniated discs, sciatica, disc degeneration and arthritis. I have been taking hydrocodone for years. Started off with 10/750 but now with the changes, down to 10/350. I also take methocarbamol. I've started going to pain management and the doctor has prescribed fentanyl patches 12.5 mcg, along with the hydrocodone for breakthrough pain. So far I've been on the patches for 15 days. After the first few days, I did get some relief but now I'm back to the same pain I was having before. Since this is just the beginning of my prescription with the patches, do they usually increase the dosage? The few days I felt better, it was so nice because it's been years since I've been free of pain. Thanks in advance for your help. ## Hello, Lana! How a...

What is the difference between Hydrocodone/apap 10mg/500 and Hydrocodone/apap 350/500, and Hydrocodone/apap 7.5/500? Could you explain the difference in these 3? ## There is no dosage available containing 350/500, that would be a very dangerous dosage of the Hydrocodone. The maximum dosage that is currently available in the U.S. contains 10mgs of Hydrocodone and 325mgs of Acetaminophen. Past that the doses are lower, 7.5mgs of Hydrocodone/ 325 Acetaminophen, and 5mgs of Hydrocodone with 325mgs of Acetaminophen. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Which one has your doctor prescribed for you?

My aunt has lukimia and some other problems with pain and takes 25mg fentanyl patches. i was out of town visiting them and didn't take my prescription with them and as i was helping them move i was in pain. she loaned me one of her fentanyl patches and it really helped a lot!! thinking of talking to my pain mang. doctor about if he will let me try some of them out. what are the odds he would switch me to fentanyl from narco 10/350's (1 three times a day)? if he does say i can try it if i want will he still keep me on the narco just in case the patch dosnt work as well for me? the narco helps me a lot but the fentanyl patch worked really really well. i was ...

HOW DO I BRAKE THE HYDROCODON PAIN MED. HABIT,I TAKE 4 10-350 MG EVERY DAY CARLO ## Hi Carlo, Sorry to hear about your situation. Have you talked with your doctor about developing a tapering plan/schedule in order to gradually wean you off the Hydrocodone? I realize it can't be stopped abruptly without experiencing withdrawals, so this is probably the safest approach (in my opinion). Although if you needed more help with the cravings, something like Suboxone may be beneficial as well? This medication is widely used for treating opioid dependence and there is honestly an overwhelming amount of support on this site from those who've had success with using Suboxone for such purposes. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Suboxone Details, but I'd also recommend bro...

pink rectangular v on one side 3500 on the other ## I cannot verify it 100%, but this tablet supposedly contains 7.5mg of Hydrocodone. I'm going to try and reach Qualitest Pharmaceuticals (formerly Vintage Pharmaceuticals) to see if V 3500 is in their product line. Lastly, is there any way that you could be misreading the 3500? It is known that a pink tablet with V on one side and 3600 on the other is a generic Vicodin containing Acetaminophen 500 mg + Hydrocodone 10 mg. Hope this helps!

I just filled a script for hydrocodon/acetaminophine 10-500, The pills say 3500 on it instead of 3600, but they still have a V. Did I get the right pills from the pharmacist? ## Your best bet is to just ask the pharmacist. ## What you have might be the 7.5 mg Hydrocodone dose. If you are reluctant to take it then what I would suggest is going back to the pharmacy with it and telling them that the imprint code is different from your previous prescription. That way they can determine if they actually gave you the right medication. Can you please post back and let us know what they determine it to be? This inscription V 3500 is not really coming up. ## Hi Janine - I got an email back from Qualitest support and they stated "All Qualitest tablets bear the V inscription. I don't see a...

A friend in his early sixties Gave me one to relieve severe joint Pain.I think it's hydricodone , is my guess accurate? ## Could the imprint be "3594 V" by chance? If so, your guess would be accurate. From what I could gather, V 3594 is identified as Acetaminophen 500mg + Hydrocodone 7.5mg. It also happens to be a white oblong pill with little green specks all over. Manufacturer: Qualitest Pharmaceuticals Inc. Compare Oxycodone 350 mg to Hydocone 5mg ## The Oxycodone is slightly stronger than the Hydrocodone, so for each 5mgs of Hydrocodone, you would only need 3.33mgs of the Oxycodone. Thus, if you wanted to know how much of the Hydrocodone would be equal to a 350mg dose of Oxycodone, the answer is 525mgs. These are both narcotic pain medications, so the side effect profiles are similar and may include: nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth. Learn more: Is there anything else I can help with?

I have hydrocarbon 325 pills that have m 360 on the back. Can you tell me why ## Hello, Mystic! How are you? I'm assuming you mean Hydrocodone? These tablets contain 7.5mgs of it and 750mgs of Acetaminophen and they are no longer being manufactured. The M 360 is just a manufacturers logo. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Are there any other questions or concerns?
