I was on ortho prefest tabs for several yrs. for menapausal symptoms...went on natural compound creams which are no longer working...is ortho prefest still made? ## I'm not sure, I haven't found anything specifically saying that it's been discontinued, but some of these HRT medications are getting difficult to find due to the new laws. However, there are several generics available, so you should be able to find one that has the right combination of hormones and dosage to help you. Learn more HRT details here. Do you have a current prescription for it already?

I have been on HRT for 3 months which was started for post menopausal concerns of extreme vaginal dryness . I had received a Prolia injection 5 months ago for Osteoperosis which wiped out my immune system and made me very sick. Now at 5 months post Prolia I am beginning to feel better a small bit daily. I will not do Prolia ever again or oral Biophosphates due to side effects. I went to Mayo clinic last month for Osteoperosis guidance and elvista was suggested as an option in place of my HRT. I was hoping for RX from mayo clinic but they gave suggestions for me to take back to my home doctors. ## Has anyone out there in Prolia land had any experience with EVISTA? I realize it is another medication. The mayo doc discussed side effects, which mimic HRT and menopause symptoms, but in addit...

Hello. I am 47 years old and have been on Estrodot for nearly four months without much success or change in my menopause symptoms. Can I go on Angeliq if I have had a hysterectomy and no longer have a uterus? ## You should take whatever medication your medical provider has prescribed for you, until they deem it needing to be changed. The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. has there been any change, yet? Are you on any other medications? What condition necessitated a hysterectomy?

i am going thur menapose my doctor perscibe me medroxypr , will this start my period back or help in some other way ## Medroxyprogesterone is a Progesterone hormone used for HRT. When a woman is in perimenopause or full menopause, Progesterone is usually the hormone that she's low in, which needs supplemented. Learn more Medroxyprogesterone details here. Supplementing it can help with the symptoms, such as hot flashes, weight gain, irritability, emotionality and etc. However, it may not start your period back up, though there is a slight chance if you aren't completely done with menopause yet. My doctor just diagnosed me as menopausal. However, he will not prescribe depo testodiol for me. Where can I find a doctor that will? ## There are some major concerns about the risks associated with HRT, so many of these types of medications aren't available any longer and they are only prescribed with extreme caution. Hypothyroid diagnosed 6 months ago-put on 50mcg when increased to 75mcg I had a nose bleed and felt head pressure.Back down to 50mcg and 75 alternate days. Success-felt lots better for 6 months on 75mcg daily. Recently felt heart hammering and adrenal rushes turned into panic attacks Now on 50 mcg but still shakey. I read somewhere that oestrogen interferes with thyroxine-herbal or HRT. Anyone heard this? ## I see a problem listed with Estrogen, but not the herbal products. hrt ## Dear Ones; I take endorol for nervousness caused by another med. I missed several doses and noticed my heart rate up from 60 to 75. Could this be from a developed 'addiction' to it? Or? Thank you, Brad ## It could be caused by that, no way to say for sure since no one here is a doctor who knows your medical history. It is not, however, called 'developed addiction,' it is called Dependence.

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT), also known as menopausal hormone therapy or postmenopausal hormone therapy, is a form of hormone therapy used to treat symptoms associated with female menopause.[1][2] These symptoms can include hot flashes, vaginal atrophy, accelerated skin aging, vaginal dryness, decreased muscle mass, sexual dysfunction, and bone loss. They are in large part related to the diminished levels of sex hormones that occur during menopause.&#...

I was on HRT implants for about a year. Had nothing but good results with it, felt great, no weight gain, good drive, lots of energy. The draw back is the cost so my doctor suggested Estratest (generic) I started taking it about two weeks ago, mainly for libido and mental clarity. It makes me dizzy. Even when taking it at night I'm dizzy during the day. I feel the dosage is too low and might need to be increased but with the dizziness only one tablet is causing, I am afraid. Do the symptoms resolve after taking it for some time? ## In theory, they should go away, after your body gets used to it, but with hormones that can take about 3 months. Are you sure that's whats causing the dizziness? What are your blood pressure levels? Have you been dehydrated, at all?

I get nauseous when using hrt. Been on Angeliq for months and now nausea is starting again. Can i take Angeliq on alternate days to relieve nausea or is it unsafe to do that? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? No, it wouldn't be unsafe, so you can do that, as long as your doctor approves. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. I was on 35mc/hrt Transdermal patches. My gp has told me I'm to be taken off the patches and use co codamol at highest dose he can give as well as diclofenac at the highest daily dose. I have osteoarthritis in my top part of my neck and my last 5 discs are slowly coming together. I also take 1000mg of naproxin daily as well as 30mg Amitriptyline per day. And I'm still experienceing chronic pain.

I have been trying to take HRT to help with my menopausal food allergies. The last one I tried was Prempro .3/1.5. I stopped it after only one pill because it caused bad heart palps and headaches. That was two days ago, and I am still dealing with the headaches and heart palps. When will this be out of my system, and these side effects go away? ## If you're menopausal, there is a chance that the symptoms might be due to those hormone fluctuations, rather than the medication, according to the NIH. Are you experiencing any other symptoms, such as nausea, headaches, hot flashes, and irritability?

I changed meds for issues regarding HRT and at first it caused major constipation... My doctor told me to take Miralax , so I did a couple of times... It relieved the symptoms of constipation, but now, a week after the last dose of Miralax, I'm still having incontinence.. When will this stop? ## Hello, Sunny! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. Has there been any change, yet? This medication can cause diarrhea, as well as bloating and abdominal cramping, according to the FDA reports, but it is odd that it would continue over a week later. What medication did you switch to? Have you informed your doctor?

I believe this drug was the old alternative to HRT. I have been taking it for 4 years and it works. However, I have been alarmed by pharmaceutical industry friends pointing out that it contains a narcotic. I have recently cut back to 1/2 pill per day BUT have been gaining weight despite following fairly strictly the Weight Watchers program. Are any of the ingredients (belladonna, ergot or phenobarb) known for affecting metabolism? If so, perhaps mine has been slowed recentlyby my reduction of the does. Help please!! ## To Brigid Brown: I have just recently been prescribed the belladonna/ phenobarb tab for heart burn. Does it really work because I still have heartburn?

Osteoporosis,Celiac,HRT,MouthUlcers,Insomnia,Fatigue...........Wine seems safest pain reliever w/o side effects. Any suggestions? Pain 24/7. Frustrated. ## No, wine certainly does have side effects, you just may not notice them all immediately, but they are there, especially if you have more than a serving or 2 a day. It does contain alcohol, so it can cause liver damage, stomach damage, esophageal damage and it can be cardio-toxic. Things are made even worse, if you combine it with pain medications, such as NSAIDS and/or narcotics. There are very good reasons that doctor's tell their patients not to drink, or to do so only in moderation. There are also good reasons most prescription drugs tell you not to drink, while taking them. What medications do you take? ## Thank you for your ...

I am 56 and I have been taking eostrogen hrt for 6 months. My dr prescribed privera 1/2 pil daily last week to induce bleeding. I am now housebound, cannot work and bleeding profusely with chronic period pain & nausea for the past week. She suggested taking 3x pils each day for 3 days & see what happens. Im worried this will increase the bleeding. I stopped taking it 48 hrs ago and the bleeding is worse. Does anyone know how long this can go on? I think night sweats were much easier to deal with and I'll go back to natural treatments. ## Hello, Victoria! How are you? How long had it been that you'd not had a period? The problem is that in many cases using estrogen only HRT causes your uterine lining to build up to thickly, which is why it's necessary to induce bleedi...
